In my travels, I have frequented BevMo on many occasions, and each time it seems to get worse. More junk, clutter, just garbage(apparently trying to be all things to all people), and really nothing most of us would want. So I head on this 88* So Bay day to get a couple cases of suds since the thermometer is all red and I have a gathering to attend. And to my dismay, the already pathetic cold beer cooler is ripped. I mean nothing of value at all. Whomever chose that set needs some guidance. There were ample foofoo drinks there,(probably still there for a reason) but nothing legitimate(OK, in fairness, legitimate in my feeble world) and the stuff that is good and popular was gone. Nobody to help me, nobody to check back room, some gal was standing in the corner tasting some uninteresting wine samples, nobody talking to her, so that again says something… So I am forced to buy embarrassing cold beer that I felt terrible about bringing to Bbq(sadly Stella Artois was the best item). Then comes finding some other items which took wandering for many minutes, granted the place aint very big, but after I wasted time trying to find the«&Mo», which was equally disappointing, I decided I couldn’t take it anymore. So I just left half stocked because of frustration and anemic stock and selection. So here’s the clincher, and im not really a penny pincher, but seriously, most of the decent go-to brands were well over $ 10 for a 6pk, Ralphs has them for $ 6.99, Hansens soda @ BevHo is $ 4.99, Traders across the parking lot is $ 1.99. So one stop shopping failed, value and or savings failed, customer service failed, so this ended up being, yup, a FAIL! Yes, I have the right and privilege of shopping elsewhere, and after this final straw experience, that is a given. Sadly, I couldn’t even buy the stuff I wanted at whatever price. Maybe if I need some cotton candy vodka I’ll be back, but the chances of that are between none and none.

Bought a $ 100 bottle of Oban whiskey here today. They were sold out of Macallen 15 year, and the helpful clerk suggested this as a substitute. She also escorted me to find the gift bags which was very nice. Meanwhile my husband found a couple craft beers$. Great selection and good prices as well as helpful staff!

Great Bevmo. I purchased $ 1,000 in booze this day and on this day everyone was great. Actually the service was great before they knew I was buying a lot of booze. No, I am not drinking it myself. I am getting it for a work event. They were great. They helped me pick out different beverages for my event. It was a great experience and I recommend it to all who need booze!

I asked 2 people for assistance, they both blew me off. The lights were off in the whole store, so I used my cell phone flashlight to find what i thought was a good beer, but is not. I asked if i could exchange it, and the lady hung up on me. Seriously worse service ever, will tell all my friends to stay clear of this place.

Best bevmo. I come from long beach to get my fill here. JD and Charlie are the best always helpful, full of knowledge and help me track down whatever I’m looking for. The customer service over all is killer and the atmosphere is great.

(Shopped 10÷05÷14SU @ 5:00pm): Beers, spirits and wines, oh my; my friend new to the area has found her second home! After my friend treated me to lunch at nearby Mashawi Grill, I decided to treat her to some cold alcoholic beverages(they didn’t sell any at the restaurant), so we walked over to the BevMo in the same shopping center. She’s already been here before so she introduced me to this location close to her. Here was my first experience and impression of this lair of lovely libations: Tallulah Extra Pale Ale($ 11.99) — Part of Speakeasy Ales & Lagers’ «The Usual Suspects» line, this Spring and Summer seasons limited release brew has noticeable fruity accents that went along with a honey glow born of a soothing combination of light hoppiness and tempered sweetness. A clean drink from beginning to end with no lingering taste. I’d ask Tallulah out on another date! Service — We were greeted by two young female and male near the front entrance each at a checkout register. We made a beeline to the back of the store where the refrigerated section was , eventually made our selection and quickly darted to a register where the same female cashier easily rung us up and wished us a good day. We were basically the only customers and never approached if we needed any help(which we didn’t), so no worries there. An easy-peasy«let’s get our drink on» excursion. Parking(free) — There were plenty of free parking spaces in the Rolling Hills Plaza, an outdoor shopping center that appeared to lack business directories(we couldn’t find one!) as well as any rhyme or reason to the layout of the parking itself. The location of this store was hidden and tucked away, so thankfully my friend knew where it was at. Atmosphere, décor, ambience — The standard warehouse-style industrial high-ceiling big-box store like most BevMo locations, you walked through a wide open floorplan filled with stacks of boxed beers and wines, several heavily-stocked aisles, and chilled appropriate complementary snacks. Minimal natural lighting came through the front glass walls, so it store was mostly filled with a ton of low-hung electric lighting. No TVs, but there was background music. Attire — Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I’m a huge fan of BevMo and this particular location was decently-sized(bigger than the smallish Glendale location but smaller than the large Santa Clarita location). They seemed to have more unique craft beers than the previously-noted locations I frequented which was a plus. I loved the variety, prices, their ClubBev Rewards program, and of course their«5-Cent Wine Sale». I usually didn’t need any customer assistance, but I hoped they at least had people who roamed the floor to answer any questions. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above(total paid experience was around $ 13.00; no tip required). And, they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX! 5.0STARS

Ahhhhh!!! Ommmgggg!!! Wine, wine, wine everywhere!!! Amazing!!! I loved it here. The deals are amazing. Buy one get the other for 5 cents? Amazing or what? Ou get what you exactly want because the descriptions are so detailed that you can practically taste it. The staff are so helpful and they help you find exactly what you are looking for. There’s not only wine here, but there’s other type of liquor and beer. There’s also glasses you can buy and other marvelous things. ;)

If the only sold more craft beer instead of this Budweiser crap and Corona it would deserve five stars.

— Locale Destination — It’s on PCH and between Crenshaw Blvd and Pennsylvania Ave in Torrance. It’s in a medium size shopping center, next to the Japanese grocery market«Nijiya Market». — Gluttony Expedition — Ayinger(craft beer): very light weight with a hint of bitterness. Meh. Organic pop corn: Light and tasty. — Conqueror’s Deduction — A Jester of big chain liquor stores, compared to the«Total Wine». «Bevmo» has weaker and lesser selections with more expensive price tags on beers and wine than«Total Wine». I’m a craft beer enthusiast and certified sommelier. I know what I’m talking about: p

I placed an online order for about 8 cases of beer, over 3 cases of wine and some other alcoholic beverages for pickup last Friday. Lindsey was the one that assisted me in checking that all my items were ready for pickup, and even helped me switch some items out and do some returns. This experience was one of the best I’ve encountered with BevMo, and I hope to see more of it! I have never met someone with such enthusiasm dealing with a customer, understanding of the situations that may arise, and she even happily helped unload my entire purchase into my car. 5* to Lindsey, thank you!(I did find out after the fact, that she was a manager, I hope all managers and employees learn through her example.)

Great location, great store. Brightly lit, easy to navigate, freindly staff. The parking lot can be a nightmare though. 5c wine sale is legit. When you boil it down, it’s 2-for-1. Cant beat that. A sure bet is the«Midnight Moon» Apple Pie Moonshine. With your BevMo card, you’ll get change back when you trade the ‘Shine for a $ 20. Pair it with a domestic light beer and a girlfriend who is doing the same, and babies will be made. Minimal hangovers as well.

Paringa Shiraz — #52 of Wine Spectator 2013 top 100 — Bev Mo had it on clearance? Yeaah! What a delicious little wine from South Australia. So forget about finding any in the South Bay area Bev Mo’s I got them all! Next time? Let’s see what 2014 brings.

Very easy to find. I usually do the searching online and order online so I do not have to wait in line. I just search and buy online and when I go inside the store, I go to the area that saids online pickup and that is easy as it gets. They also have 5 cents wine sale which is also great too.

Looking to run in a buy a quick bottle for a holiday celebration and I was not disappointed. Great stock(even during the holidays) and friendly service. The prices are usually pretty good, although sometimes grocery stores have better deals. Got what I needed, and off to the party, all in under 5 minutes. Nice and easy!

BevMo is the 7 – 11 of wine/spirits stores. You can get items you can use to get by and some really great spirits and beer but when you want serious wines«which is more than half the store» you really need to hit something like The Wine House in LA, Hi Times in the O. C or even Total Wine which btw keeps a respectable selection of wines on hand at the locations I’ve visited. Happy hunting!

Easy peasy! Went in, grabbed what I needed, gave out my number(membership discount), paid and left the store happy. Especially during the holidays, simple, fast, friendly service goes a long way! Membership is free. They have awesome deals like buy one bottle of wine and get the second one for 5 cents.

Basically you just need to know the following: + Friday beer tasting from 4−7p for $ 1.10. + Saturday wine tasting from 12−4p for $ 2.00. I don’t really buy all that much alcohol here as I am not a wine or beer connoisseur(yet) so the usual Hefewizens and Three Wishes wines does it for me. Lately though, and I blame the tasting, I have been getting more and more into craft beers, of which Bevmo is the place to go as they have a huge selection of craft beers(including kegs too). Their wine selection is also pretty extensive as they have wine from worldwide and their wine sales are also pretty good as a lot of times they have a buy one get the second for five cents. Other then that, for spirits I usually pick them up at either Costco or a supermarket when they have a good sale going on as spirits usually don’t seem to go on sale here. As for the Torrance store, well the convenience beats out everything and I have also found this store’s service to be the best(comparatively to other similar type stores). The worker’s here aren’t snobby and quite helpful at helping you pick out wines. I have a feeling that this store is a little smaller than the other Bevmo’s but this store also seems to have everything other large Bevmos carry too. I recommend coming here for at least a tasting… but then you will be back as that’s how they get you hooked!
