Old time diner with carhop service also. Had the Spanish burger, thin smashed patties grilled to crispy perfection and coated with a sweet tangy sauce. Onion rings were thin, light and plentiful. Home made root beer and a slice of homemade apple pie. Oh yeah! What’s not to like?

Stopped here for lunch today with a friend. Saw this place on a re-run of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I ordered a double burger with bacon and jalapeño. Side of fries. The burger was amazing! The fries were pretty good too! I will return!!!

I’ve been a customer since the early 90’s, back when the main waitress called everyone«honey.» I sure do miss her! The house salad is pretty much what you would expect from a diner– cheap lettuce with a few veggies. Their house dressing is superb, a mayo-based dressing. The onion rings are different than you would expect. They have fall-off-the-onion breading, that in my opinion has the perfect amount of greasy-ness and crispy-ness. The double cheeseburger is always cooked perfectly, with a crispy edge. Satin freeze soft serve and apple pie rounds out this perfect lunch. Deducting one star because it’s usually not the best customer service, which doesn’t bother me that much, but I can see why it would bother others.

Home of the classic, drive-in greasy cheeseburger and fries! It’s a bit small on the inside, so be prepared. Otherwise, great burgers and apple pie in true diner style. Nothing fancy, not even the service. Just honest people serving honest food.

Bobo’s is an old school drive– in with good food. I like the Spanish burger, but you really must try the apple pie. Don’t just get a slice, order a whole pan. You have your grandmothers Apple pie and your mothers Apple pie and then you have Bobo’s. It is delicio, if you follow my expression. We usually take pies home to our relatives. Fun place too, if you like drive-ins.

While Bobo’s has garnered a lot of media attention in recent years, Marsh said having Food Network’s Guy Fieri shoot a segment for his«Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives» show that aired in 2008 was stressful and exhilarating. Coming in just to see Tricia Marsh WHO’s HOT!!!

This is certainly a divey place, seen on triple D. Their famous apple pie(only thing I tried here, wasn’t to hungry) was delicious. The crust is unique and extremely crumbly with the use of lard. Still melt in mouth and my girlfriend ordered the root beer float which had authentic homemade root beer with a unique spice to it. Also the soft serve ice cream is unique and creamy in itself. Overall delicious and a gem, while old and staying true to its rich tradition, here in topeka.

First time I heard about this place was from close friends of ours who came to KC from Orlando for our wedding in August 2013. They raved about the onion rings so when I made my first trip to Topeka about a year ago with some people from work I asked if we could stop there and given that they had been here before that time there was a quick«yes!». I ordered a cheeseburger by recommendation but really had my taste buds set on the rings. The second trip was this past weekend as a side trip to Lawrence. Ask the waiter or waitress for the Bobo’s history. Check out the Guy Fieri’s autograph of approval on one of the lamps. First bite into the cheeseburger was INCREDIBLE. First thought was, «this is the Shake Shack of the Kansas». The patty is «smashed» to create a slightly crispy outside which is a great contrast to the tender inside. It has a velveeta based cheese spread which is super tasty as well. I like the double patty which l actually does not stuff me up but is just the right size. On my second and most recent visit I indulged on the apple pie with satin freeze soft serve on top. Hands down one of the best apple pies I have had. Unlike typical apple pies where you have a full apple slice, the apples here are thinly sliced so you don’t have to take a huge bite. The crust is so light and warm. And the satin freeze… mmmmmmmmm. Perfect Apple pie. Bobo’s…till we meet again which hopefully will not be a long hiatus.

Burgers were fine. Onion rings and fries were fine. Service was fine. Not terrible. Not great. The place is TINY inside. A handful of tables/booths are cramped into the grungy atmosphere. If you pull up and flash your lights, a car hop will come out to you and take your order. Only thing to write home about is the fact that the business was featured on the television show Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

I think the food, atmosphere and appeal of Bobo’s has waned a bit over the years. The last time I was there everything I had was greasy — and don’t get me wrong, I know this is a classic diner, so I expect some grease, but this was borderline inedible and definitely not appetizing. That said, their malts remain decent. It’s still a Topeka landmark and it’s always busy!

have eaten there a time or two over the years and to be honest, just never thought it was anything special. and as for their«famous» apple pie, nothing special in my book. I’ve gotten better at the local grocery store chain.

My daughter competes year round in swimming and is often at the Cap Fed Natatorium a few miles up the road from Bobo’s. We had seen it featured on Diners, Drive-In and Dived and finally got around to trying it. The restaurant features drive-in spaces, but we chose to dine-in. It was lunchtime and the place is TINY(seats maybe 24 people total — including the 10 stools at the horseshoe bar) but we got seated quickly and service was fast. The double cheeseburger is delicious. Soft, flavorful patties cooked perfectly on a well-seasoned griddle. Onion rings were super light and crispy and the chocolate malt was excellent. The drive-in is famous for their apple pie. We ordered a slice to go. It was underwhelming. When we opened it, the slice was sort mangled. Slammed into the box and had no bottom crust. The flavor was very average. It was disappointing, but the burgers and rings were enough to bring us back.

We visited here to relive my mom’s nostalgic days coming as a kid. The burgers and apple pie with ice cream were very yummy. The fries were kind of soggy. When they brought the food out the waitress was a bit rude and had all our fry orders mixed up and we had to switch. It was worth it for the taste though. Wish it came out hotter as well.

Drive in, good food. It takes awhile to get your food but it’s worth the wait. My favorite is pork tenderloin w EXTRA mayo! Try the apple pie.

I’ve come to this restaurant many times before but never wrote a review. This restaurant is a classic. The service is great and there’s many food option. The burgers and onion rings are great! There’s shakes too. Diners, drive ins, and dives was here which makes it awesome! I definitely recommend this if you’re Topeka.

Still the classic! Perfect evening with an open booth, friendly staff, perfect onion rings, and apple pie ala mode.

Just ok. Not Triple D quality. Spanish burger was overly sweet and I should have ordered with cheese. Wife had the pulled pork and even lots of Ketchup later it was dry. Fries were OK and home made root beer was average.

Drove by this little stand and decided to stop. Good burgers and fries for the price. I’d definitely go back.
