Not much to see in Topanga so this was a great stop. Really enjoyed the vibe of the place as well as the service, very cool people here. The décor and vibe very eclectic, you would not think you were close to ritzy Malibu. Fun items to look at, unique gifts and a great café/restaurant here as well. Worth the stop while driving down the canyon.

I first stopped by here one day while cruising Topanga Canyon. Ever since my first visit I fell in love with this little shop. They have a huge variety of items packed into this little store. There is always wonderfully smelling incense and relaxing music playing in the store. I’m not sure if he is the owner but the man who usually works there is always welcoming and helpful. He suggested a book called The Knight in Rusty Armor by Robert Fisher and it was a great little read and I recommend it. This store has so many little gifts and books and I always end up spending a long time looking around. They have a lot of high quality bronze sculptures and crystals. I love that they had a lot of Paramahansa Yogananda’s books which was convenient for me because I was planning on ordering some of then online but ended up finding them here. I have not eaten at the Inn of the Seventh Ray but this is a wonderful place to browse while you wait to be seated. The location is really iconic situated in the hub of Topanga located on my favorite street in the valley. If you are driving through Topanga you have to stop here. There is always so much to see and it’s a great place for finding unique and thoughtful gifts.

SUPERFUN on a Saturday night. I got this cool massage oil, a box that will help me manifest my dreams, and I truly enjoyed my journey today. They have the best stuff here, it is quite expensive for me, but very pretty stones and silver. This is the place to be.

The best curated selection of books about creativity, purpose, the sharing economy, meditation, spirituality, self-development, pop sociology, relationships, new and creative ways of living – basically every kind of non-fiction book I’d want to read — to help with self-actualization. Great selection, Paulo Coelho, Abraham Hicks, Daniel Pink, Daniel Quinn, etc. The chimes are also lovely, the little crystals and statues and all of that, but I haven’t spent an hour and a half in a bookstore in ages, they did such a great job I wanted to pick up half the books, and recommend the other half. Also, they let me browse. Read. It’s a 500 sq foot store, and there were two benches I could just peruse on. And then they told me that their return policy is just come back with a receipt, period. I’m getting all my books here, and all my gifts too. I learned it was the manager, Patrice, who curates the book selection, to her a personal thank you.

My husband and I visited this adorable little shop on a whim and absolutely fell in love! We will definitely be back to shop some more and dine at their fabulous restaurant attached. The atmosphere is indescribable. A blend of romance, free minds and curiosity. Love it here. Could stay for hours!

This is one of my very favorite shops in So Cal! It is so much more than a bookstore and every time I am here I find treasures. Since I perform wedding ceremonies, I have the pleasure of coming to the Inn of the Seventh Ray where The Spiral Staircase is located. I make sure I arrive very early so I can spend time and shop. Just two weeks ago I was here again and found the most beautiful amethyst crystal and a fabulous Papaya Tote… and it was on sale for $ 20 off! Everyone here is so very nice and accommodating! Worth a trip up Topanga Canyon just to shop and while your at it have a bite at the Inn of the Seventh Ray which is beautiful and a pleasure for a peaceful dining experience!

My wife and I were married at the Inn of the Seventh Ray and have for many years looked upon the restaurant and the bookstore with a special fondness. We decided to show our sons(8 and 11) where we married and thought they should be exposed to a positive spiritual place with a quaint collection of items spanning many alternative beliefs. To my horror, some older gentleman running the store took it upon himself to suddenly start lecturing our boys(who were standing next to my wife and I while we picked out incense) about«hands in pockets, did anyone every tell you about hands in pockets?» Obviously this gentleman was not comfortable with children or had some bad experience, but having anyone spontaneously lecture your children as though they are thieves or misbehaved was way out of line. My wife and I fumed out of the store quite unhappy with the«epic fail» this experience turned out to be because of one crotchedy pretentious man. We strongly recommend the store hire truly loving people who appreciate that their next generation of supporters will come from sensitive and thoughtful people like our young sons who will always remembers such a «first experience».

What a sweet place to go for anything and everything«New Age.» I feel like I’ve escaped the hustle and bustle of the city here. They’ve got tons of interesting books, beautiful new-agey type gifts, jewelery, incense, candles, and a great selection of beautiful music too. The owner: Rasa was very nice and helpful. Combine a visit to the Spiral Staircase with a lunch or dinner at the Inn of the Seventh Ray and you’ll no doubt have a pretty much perfect day!

Sometimes it’s nice to take a small trip to a place I’d like to call, New Age. Yes, parts of New Age are spiritual, but for the most part, it’s about giant crystals healing your aura and lots of books about things you can’t see or conceive of, but how you can use that energy to take over the world; in a peaceful way, of course. Tangent. The point is, The Spiral Staircase is that kind of store. It’s neat to see what’s on the inside, and hey, sometimes they have really pretty jewelry. Also, if you’re looking for a Buddha Board(just ask), look no further my friend. I often find myself in there just to look at the random books displayed on the table right in front of the counter. I learned a lot about water from one of them(after watching«What the Bleep Do We Know»). In other words, check ‘em out, especially if you’re roaming through the little shopping area in the canyon right there. Good times, good times.

This store is attached to The Inn of the Seventh Ray(which for some reason I have never been to — but I do happen to know that the owner of the restaurant believes chocolate is evil because their guru told them so — I digress). They have all sorts of gifts, books, jewelry, stones, statues and other fun«new age» happy. I was gifted a gorgeous buddha that was living there for an unknown length of time, purchased an amazing heavy sterling silver chain, and a couple of über hippie books. I can’t help but stop in there every couple of months just to see whats new. If you are goin through the canyon and dig that sorta stuff check it out. Namaste
