I’ve been coming to Mimosa for as long as I can remember! The perfect spot to come to on my way to Sienna Skin Care upstairs. I’ve tried many other places but nothing beats their Chai latte!

We just discovered this gem hidden away behind a garden patio across from the general store in Topanga. After a hot hike, we needed a cool drink — coconut water and gluten-free brownie and toasted corn blueberry muffin with jam. They have several gluten free baked goods, bagels. They have many coffee drinks, smoothies. I’d definitely come back to work there inside or on their front or back patio… very peaceful.

Very let down by my experience. We were recommended by our Air BnB host to visit this spot for breakfast. The woman behind the counter was very impersonal and selective with who she spoke to beyond telling them their totals. I purchased a small latte and a breakfast burrito which was very small, all totaling to be $ 10. I gladly paid and tipped but waited forever for my food and felt very out of place and unwelcome the entire time. Let down, and expected way more from this place.

I just started going up to Topanga for my weekly dose of hiking trips. My boyfriend and I decided to look for a breakfast spot to catch before we went for our hike. Initially we passed this little place, keeping note of it. We stopped at another location that wasn’t open yet and decided to turn back around to try this place out. It’s a small, cozy café. Parking was interesting as there were really designated spots, so we just parked on the dirt along side the road. Not a lot of space inside, but there is a patio outside with a koi pond, which is where found a place to sit. From the looks of it, there weren’t many food options but more so just a drink spot. However, they did have breakfast bagel sandwiches and breakfast burritos. My boyfriend and I both tried the breakfast bagel and it hit the spot! It came with cream cheese, lox, onions, tomatoes, and capers with your choice of bagel. It seemed a little on the pricey side for what we got, but still good and perfect for a pick-me-up before one of those Topanga Canyon Hikes!

This place is a gem! I had the best chai tea latte I’ve ever had here. I have yet to find one better. I don’t know what they do, but keep on doing it! I went on a Saturday afternoon when it was quiet and found the place to be quaint and relaxing for a quick stop.

Several of the employees, including the owner, told me the coffee was organic… so I kept getting my coffee there in the morning. I always sensed that it wasn’t, and then this weekend, the coffee made me very sick. I’m allergic to chemicals and pesticides in my food, which is why I only drink organic coffee(conventional coffee is known for having a very high pesticide residue). I demanded to see the coffee bag and found out that their coffee is not actually organic and they have been lying the whole time. Terrible business practice. Are the brownies really organic & gluten-free too or is that another lie you tell your customers?

Many moons ago I lived a block from this location. It brings back old memories(that is I can remember anything from that far back). Café Mimosa make good coffee drinks. As far as the pastries go I just ask if they are super fresh and go with those(no fresh ones means I ain’t eatin it(:) Their patio is cool and there is definitely a Hippy type of Topanga Canyon vibe here(which is cool in my book). Give them a try.

I like stopping by on my way back from showing properties and getting something super healthy along with a tea or coffee and chilling by the pond in back. Very relaxing get-away place. Great for meeting up with friends too, but we can’t park a lot of cars anymore and go off in one car.

I should have heeded my friend’s warning to stay away from this place. I was driving through Topanga a few weeks ago and craving a smoothie… when I saw the big sign outside the café that says«SMOOTHIES». Unfortunatley, they served me the worst smoothie EVER! They only had mango available… ok, sure, I like mango smoothies… it was literally cheap mango juice blended with ice, and I had to pay extra for the hemp protein. It was disgusting. I thought maybe I would enjoy it more if I sat outside, but it the place was infested with flies. This place might have been cute at one time, but now it’s just dirty. And as far as I could tell, none of their bakery items or sandwiches were made there. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I can’t believe they served me that smoothie, and charged me for it with a straight face.

Mimosa Café is like a jewel from Paris, dropped into the heart of the country, and inserted into LA! The ambiance is special. A friendly and interesting group of locals interspersed with an ever changing group of people who are in Topanga for the first time, or commuters who can’t quite make it over the hill without their caffeine and croissant, The drinks are delicious and the service is friendly. The locally baked treats are to die for. There is a poppy seed roll that will make anyone from Poland believe they are home… muffins for all, even sugar free! The bagels are very popular. I recommend getting it ‘with everything”, Claire, the owner is inspiring. She is always friendly and sweet, and makes you feel completely welcome! I highly recommend tracking the time to sit and absorb this lovely piece of Paris!

My favorite café in Topanga. Café Mimosa is a great place to work or read, though it can get pretty busy in the mornings. I ordered a bagel and lox(delicious!) and the woman behind the counter was so helpful. I tried a tea called Peace on Earth(or something like that) and it was exactly how she described it. I love that Café Mimosa sells local products like Puremedy, supporting Topanga and local businesses. Can’t wait to go back soon!

Home away from home. Whenever I’m in Topanga Canyon in the morning I love to stop here for coffee. There’s not a lot of selection of foods, the muffins have been soggy or dry, but I love the ambiance, coffee, trees, location, and friendly cozy vibe. I wish it was open later, though. Parking’s tough, so prepare to park on the street and walk a bit. The koi pond is a nice touch, and you can use your computer outside. Love meeting with all the locals here.

Topanga does not have a lot to offer for coffee or lunch but this seems to be one of the nicer places … just outside the main area. French owned, so the quiches are great … service was a little iffy. Owner was not very client oriented and way to busy taking care of het own(accounting) business and her regulars. Nevertheless nice enough to recommend this for a simple lunch. Sandwiches come from the fridge and the quiches get reheated but the taste is great.

This place is a gem :-) Went for a Sunday drive up Topanga Canyon to go hike at Topanga State Park. Looked up cafes in the area, and was delighted to find this place had lots of GLUTENFREE options :-) So we roll up. Parking can be hard because. it’s Topanga Canyon. But once you find your spot, this place is a sweet little piece of… peace :) They have nice outdoor seating in the back around a little koi pond. I found it to be very relaxing :) Only one girl working behind the corner and it got a little busy but she handled it very well and kept the line moving without making me feel rushed. She pointed out all of the gluten-free pastries(there were at least 6 different types!) and then I stood there transfixed and mesmerized, not used to that many options! Finally decided on a smoothie(not fresh fruit, but still DELICIOUS) and a GLUTEN-FREEAPPLEFRITTERMUFFIN. So SO yummy. Was literally the perfect snack before my hike. I’m in love with this place.(O__O) Will definitely be coming back! *You can tell a lot of love has gone into creating this shop and the products they serve here. It’s hard to find little places like this anymore in a world where there’s a Starbucks on every corner.

We only came here since it appeared as one of the closest places from our Topanga Canyon hiking spot that had any significant Unilocal ratings. I had little appreciation for the mismatched furnishings and quirky décor that fills this café. My friend described it as adorable but I found it a bit off-putting. The tables and chairs we sat at felt super janky. The menu was not that extensive and it took me a while to decide to get anything. I actually got the $ 4.00 single shot mocha/coconut milk/caramel special which was actually very delicious. I actually thought about getting a fruit smoothie but the barista informed me that they actually used syrup to make the smoothies … This place wasn’t a bad place to chill on a Saturday afternoon but I would never go out of my way to come here.

The atmosphere was warm and homey but it was populated by dudes talking about film projects. My Arnold Palmer tasted like the lemonade had seen better days. Gluten-free bread was dry as paper and arrived sans anything to lube it up, and the vegan chili was terrible. Also they make their smoothies from powder. I think you can do better, Mimosa.
