In the neverending search for decent sushi in Toms River, we ended up at Nobi. I wish I could’ve reviewed them a few months ago, before they changed owners. Nobi used to be a cute, quiet, high quality sit down, but now the quality is inconsistent and the atmosphere has changed. Service is good, but one of the waiters(a guy) is awful, though I didn’t see him this time. Prices range from $ 4 per roll to a Bibimbop style meal being around $ 18. Nobi is small, and usually empty. On All You Can Eat: There is only one appetizer offered, the sushi pizza(which isn’t half bad). Most all you can eat menus include sashimi/appetizers as well, so here the selection falls flat, which is unfortunate. There’s about 5 special rolls, and 12 or so regular choices. The menu features an extremely large variety of roll combinations, which range from 6 to about $ 16. With the new owners, do yourself a favor and just buy the all you can eat. Some of the special rolls are on there. A big + is that they offer hand rolls as well. We got all you can eat, and our first order was great– the fish was fresh, looked good, and tasted yummy. We got excited, and put in the next order. It looked pretty awful. The salmon was really mushy and tasted bad, even though our first order tasted great. We repeated a roll in the order and it looked sloppier the next time around. I want to love Nobi, I really do. However, the food is too inconsistent. If fish is good the first time, it should be the same the next. I wish the old Nobi would come back.

We went with a coupon and they would not honor it. There was a sign out front with a price and they would not honor that either… Really don’t want to establish a good morale with the customer? In Response… There was a large sign out front that said your special was for lunch, we did not argue because we thought you would do the right thing and honor the sign or the coupon! But obviously the money was more important than our future business. The reason I posted is because it’s nice to let people know about the way this restaurant treats the customer

Definitely a five star delivery service. While it took a while to get here,(I would order an hour in advance) the sushi is delicious… and they give you plenty of napkins, chopsticks and soy sauce. This is hugely important to me, because I’m vacationing here and I don’t know where to get the food I’d usually eat. Thank you SOMUCH for providing a delivery service!!! Be aware that you must order $ 30 or more for delivery. Which is a piece of cake for me. ;) I ordered the sweetheart roll and the sashimi deluxe. Both are spectacular. Thank you so much!

We bought a groupon deal and decided to go here. Horrible service, greeted«just sit down» no hello, no please wait a moment, nothing. The place looks like a hole in the wall with specials written in papers like preschool drawing classes. We got a refund for our groupon purchase. We found another sushi place ½ mile down the road and it was pretty good.

The food is good but nothing exceptional. The restaurant is quaint and cozy and nice for a casual, lowkey date.

very telling when a restaurant is empty at 7 pm on a Saturday, We tried this place on a groupon. We would not go back. Firstly, we were charged $ 17 for a tuna appetizer that is listed online and on the menu for $ 8.95. it was tasteless. The sushi pizza was excellent, Miso soup was lukewarm and bland. The sushi sashimi combo was generous but also tasteless, fish not chilled, and not great texture, making us wonder if it had been frozen and defrosted. Not good value for the money, even with a Grouponl Maybe if you just eat rolls this is a good restaurant, but for good sashimi, look elsewhere.

Have yet to be disappointed by this strip mall sushi joint. Their raw fish is fresher than average, beating out rivals such as Ikko in Brick and many of the trendier Asian fusion restaurants that have recently popped up. Soups seem to be well-made, and the cucumber salad split between the table at the start of the meal is a nice touch. Sushi rolls could be a bit more inventive(long menu but not as many appealing rolls as some other sushi restaurants in the area). However, sashimi is reasonably-priced and was exceedingly fresh on a Saturday night; more so than expected. Happy hour for half-priced rolls seems like a good deal, so give this place going on 18 years a try.

This is a nice restaurant for rolls and hibachi. We had the Nobi pizza(all sushi ingredients), beef teriyaki, seafood hibachi, rolls(Toms River, Eel & Avocado and Shrimp Tempura) and banana tempura ice cream. We recommend trying all of these for a variety of flavors! Prices and variety were reasonable, too!

I miss old Nobi. The original owners of this place have moved onto Koi in Brick so if you miss the sushi from old Nobi too give that place a visit. New Nobi has good lunch specials and half price sushi sometimes. *sigh* But it’s just not the same.

Under new management and it unfortunately has gone way downhill. Very sad as this used to be one of the best sushi joints in Toms River.

What a nice, quiet little restaurant. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant. I am new to the sushi world and not too brave yet, so I got a California roll, sweet potato roll, and a sweet 16 roll. Holy moly they were SOO good. They gave me an extra California roll because they were running a special: spend $ 20 and get a free roll. My boyfriend is allergic to seafood. He wanted to try the sweet potato roll but the tobiko caused him not to be able to. He ordered the chicken teriyaki skillet and it was very yummy! They surprise you with a fancy end of meal slice of honeydew. So good.

Love this place! I’ve been here 3 times now, I usually come here with my boyfriends family who are regulars to this place. They treat us so well every time we come in, the service is great! The sushi is always great quality. My favorite dish last time we went was the mussels appetizer. I will definitely continue to come here!

We having been going to Nobi for years and last time, which was September 2013, my father ended up in the hospital for four days with food poisoning. Never going again!

The best Japanese sushi in south Jersey. Their fish is pristine and served as it should be with very little fan fare. They are friendly and efficient as well but the real attraction here is the fish. Worth the drive when we want to enjoy sushi at its best. Have not really tried their other dishes but will get around to it one day.
