Every time I walk in here, there always someone walking around asking folks if they need help advice or an opinion. I’ve never had a problem getting something I’ve liked here. The last time I went, I walked in and was gifts with three shots from the reps at the door. What better way to make your customers happy?! There’s also a sprouts next door. Food for the drank. Good combo.

Convenient location, however pretty poor selection. I went in and just wasn’t interested in any of the wines so I decided to just get blood orange juice — and get wine at the down town location. When I approached the counter I was carded for a non alcoholic carton of blood orange juice. I’m guessing this is policy but the cashier obviously didn’t know what day it was because it took him about two minutes looking up and down from the date on the wall to my ID. He then made a snide comment that I hadn’t been twenty one long — which is true. With both poor customer service and selection I will not be patronizing this location again. The store also looks under stocked on the selection they do have and dirty, a lot of cheese they were selling wasn’t rotated for freshness.

This Specs is conveniently located and they have some good wine selections, especially on California, Italian and Argentinean wines. Other beer and hard alcohol selections are adequate for the size of the store. I used to go to this store at least twice a month, but now I usually go elsewhere for two reasons. First, other places have really improved their wine game in terms of selection and price(HEB and Krogers). Second, the wine guy Joseph really bothers me. He likes to talk a lot, his suggestions are usually wrong, and he doesn’t know very much about wine. If you are inexperienced with wine and want a $ 15 cab to pair with steak, sure Joseph will help pick something. But if you have a collection of 500+ bottles, have gone on wine trips in 5 different continents, and regularly read Wine Spectator or Wine Enthusiast, he just gets in the way and becomes a nuisance.

I’ve been here numerous times since they opened a few years ago but it’s time to say something that needs to be said. The location is convenient as it is not very far from my home but it’s lacking something called customer service. I stopped here after work to pick up a few things. After searching for a specific rum that I almost always buy from them that wasn’t on the shelf, I settled on something else. Either the staff was too busy or didn’t want to be bothered to help. Then I went to pay and the cashier looked bored, borderline rude. None of the cashiers ever smile, say hello, or remotely act like they want to be there. I much prefer the new Tomball location but if this is the way Specs treats their customers, Ill start taking my business elsewhere.

Friendly staff that are willing to help you find what you are looking for. We stopped in on July 4th and they were very helpful! They also provided suggestions and their opinions on different liquors/mixers/etc. I would come back here if I am in the area.

Really enjoy visiting this location — incredible selection, good prices and outstanding service. The staff always have great suggestions and listens more than they speak — keys to being a great team of consultants! The manager even saved a life-sized cutout of Dos Equis’ The Most Interesting Man in World for us!

Now this is a Spec’s location worthy of note! The specialty foods and drinks CHECK! Huge variety of everything from beer to bourbon CHECK! Employees that are friendly and know what they’re talking about CHECK! Walk in Humidor {if that’s your thing} CHECK! Great deals on discounted items of all sorts CHECK! This location is only a few months old and they’ve got it going on! I drive out of my way to this location because of how outdated the downtown Tomball location is.
