Okay, so this review is only on the shawarma sandwich(I’ve had their gyro and it was one of the best that I’ve ever had by far). I was craving a shawarma sandwich, but before I decided on Shawarmaholic I read the reviews on Unilocal(because we all do that, right?) and the reviews weren’t that great, but since I have had their gyro before, I decided to give them a chance(biggest mistake!!!). The shawarma was awful. The meat was dry, flavorless, and just plain bad. Not to mention that I only had about a teaspoon of garlic sauce on my sandwich and if anyone has ever had a shawarma sandwich, you know that it’s about the sauce. Next time I will take heed to my fellow Unilocalers and avoid the heartache of bad food.

I’ve been meaning to try this place for a long time. It was clean, friendly and the portion was hefty. I had the beef shawarma plate. The shawarma was great and the hummus was very good. I would have preferred the Arabic type of pickles rather than the American dill pickle chips, but that was a minor ding. I’ll be going back for sure.

I got a lamb gyro there which was one of the best gyros I have ever have. The only problem is they had a foreign guy working at this register and he was kind of rude like literally yelling at customers for there orders

If you check in on Unilocal, you get a discount on your order which is always a plus! The gyro is pretty good and closer to us than other places and the prices are decent. I also tried the grape leaves which for the price, are worth eating again. I’ve never actually eaten in since we always get take out so I don’t have anything to say about the actual place or service. But they’re pretty quick at getting to go orders ready.

Shawarmaholic was next to my hotel. I was hungry and tired so I didn’t want to go too far for food. I’m glad I tried them out. They’re good. I had the beef and lamb wrap my 1st time in for lunch. It was so good that I return that night for dinner. I got the Kefta wrap. I was impressed. Very good use of spices and lots of flavor. The wraps have a good crust from searing on the grill. Will RTE next time in Toledo.

Great shawarma! Had the chicken shawarma and hummus plate with tabouli. Food tasted great and the portions were huge. One of my go to spots when I am in Toledo.

In a town with Mediterranean food all over the place, Shawarmaholic is acceptable. Which is not good enough in Toledo. Ironic, I know, given the definition of acceptable. My wife had the chicken shawarma wrap and it was bland to the point that she couldn’t finish it. That’s not crazy, I often finish her food, but I took one bite and left it on the table. I had a beef and lamb gyro and that was fine. Nothing special either way. I also had a side of rice, which had some kind of meat in it and that rice was terrific and flavorful. Unfortunately, when the rice is the best thing you eat, it doesn’t speak well. The restaurant is clean and modern looking, which is nice, but it lacked personality. The staff was as helpful as I’d expect. At the end, the rice was worth going back for, but when the chicken shawarma– the thing you’ve named yourself after– is bland, it’s just not really worth it.

Food okay… backlava was terrible – tasted and looked old & soggy, tasted like perfume. We had a carryout order and they got one side incorrect and didn’t put eating utensils in our bag.

A bit above average chicken shawarma – has varied in quality on my three visits. The first time I thought it was amazing(had it in a fatoush salad) and would have given it five stars if I’d Unilocaled right away. The second time(in a to-go combo platter for two) I thought it was good, but not exceptional. Was about the same, tastewise, the third time around(another fatoush) though it may have spent a little too much time on the grill. Hummus, tabouli are decent. Salad vegetables have been fresh, though the dressing is a bit bland, and you may want to ask for it on the side. I didn’t the first time I had a salad and they drowned it. Probably about the best middle eastern choice in the immediate vicinity, short of running down to Beirut(which is not nearly as quick or inexpensive). I’m in the area a few times a week and will get a lunch there now and then, but probably won’t become a Shawarmaholic-holic.

Really liked this place. I had the fottoush, which was really good, but lacked tang in the dressing. «I like to pucker when I eat fottoush?» The mixed shawarma was spot on, but I have never been able to jump on the fries ON my sandwich bandwagon & will order mine without next time. The meat was NOT dry or overcooked, but was seasoned well. Garlic sauce was AWESOME! The only 2 negatives were 1.) The restaurant just didn’t feel clean & well kept to be a newer place. However, I didn’t see anything in particular, just a feeling? 2.) Bread was cold. I literally watched them pull it out of the fridge & serve it. «I just don’t care much for cold bread. Service was okay & staff were very friendly. I will definitely be frequenting Shawarmaholic :-)

The chicken is so dry it’s basically inedible. I thought the fist time was because I came in late. The second time was at dinner. Both times it got thrown away. The beef my husband got was much better. The falafel is to die for though and it’s the one thing that redeemed them and the ONLY reason I’d go back.

As part of my quest to try as many new places in Michigan and Ohio that I can, I’ve recently discovered Shawarmaholic. It’s a great place for a quick bite to eat, that’s very easy on the wallet and high on taste. The only thing I’ve tried here are the Shawarma sandwiches and the Fatoush Salad. The salad is among the better Fatoush I’ve had, and the chicken shawarma is amazing, I’ve have both several times. The meat shawarma was tasty, but I’ve had better at other places. For this price point though, you can’t beat it. 5 stars on the food. 5 stars on the speed of service. 4 stars on the atmosphere, it seems more like a deli counter than a restaurant and sometimes the music is a little loud. 4 stars on the actual location. It’s in a strip mall with a tiny parking lot, depending on the time of day it’s very hard to find parking. Overall I’d give 4.5 stars if I was allowed to give half star ratings.

Stopped by a few days ago for dinner with my friend. The chicken shawarma was really dry and bland here. I had some greek salad which was pretty tasty. I love the red wine and oregano sauce with feta. It was still delicious next day for lunch! Grape leaf express is still better though, but the guy working here was friendlier.

Disappointed to say the least. I read the great reviews and was hopeful that we would have another great middle eastern spot in Toledo. I went there for lunch and split the chicken shawarma wrap, beef gyro wrap, and the falafel. Very reasonably priced, I think all in all it was about $ 14. The shawarma was dry and boring, could barely finish it, the gyro was MUCH smaller than other gyros in the area(for the same price at Middle East Market – and much better there) and was just okay, and the falafel was pretty good, not great. All in all, I would say it is a mediocre toledo middle eastern restaurant, but nothing to go out of your way to go to.

I am so happy about this place! We just got take out and got the chicken and beef plate, a greek salad and just added to the menu vegetarian grape leaves. The salad and dressing were perfect. A crisp and fresh greek salad with creamy feta and a tangy red wine and oregano dressing. Wonderfully fresh cucumber and tomato and olives were also a welcome addition. The shwarma was very good. Excellent french fries and garlic sauce. PERFECT grape leaves. chewy fresh warm pita. Creamy garlic sauce. Everything just right. The meat had excellent flavor, the chicken was a tad on the dry side, but we fixed that with lots of garlic sauce. The prices were excellent. I will be back again and again!

Just finished an amazing dinner. My boyfriend and I feasted on the 1lb Beef shawarma dinner and an order of falafel. It looks like we’ll be feasting for days! The interior isn’t anything impressive, but it is clean. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Prices were great and the portions large. The food was delicious, authentic, and healthy. Needless to say, we can’t wait to go back!

Food is so so so so so good! The wife and I both had full lunches and two take home dinners with pops and the bill was only thirty dollars! If you love great food that also presented like someone loves what they are doing go to this little hidden gem! Beef shwarma is out of this world. They also have grape leaves that I’m trying next time I go.

With a name like Shawarmaholic it’s gotta be good, right? Happily, the restaurant lives up to its awesome name! The beef shawarma sandwich(it’s a wrap) is perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor. The chicken shawarma sandwich was stuffed with fries and a garlic spread– good flavors but the chicken was a little dry. We tried the falafel too– it was a little overcooked and had a strange flavor I wasn’t expecting, better to stick to the shawarma here. Fries were super fresh and crispy though! For a mere $ 4 for a wrap, this place is a steal for the great food you get, definitely will be coming back soon to try their hummus!

Yea this place is something we needed. There are a lot of Mediterranean restaurants in the area, but this one takes the cake for most authentic shawarma. Highly recommended with super good and friendly service! We had the beef shawarma plate and the chicken shawarma wrap, they were both really fresh and absolutely delicious!
