I decided to go to Handel’s over Netty’s thinking I’d try something different… We were the only customer’s there, because let’s face it. Who get’s Ice Cream on a cold winter day in February? Well a 7month pregnant lady does(lol). Not to mention, it was MUCH closer to my house than Netty’s was– The parking lot and walk-up area were clean, no debris and easy to get in and out of. The inside from what I could see was also very clean and well kept. There was 1 girl working on the inside because I don’t suspect that their busy this time of year. So for that matter I thought I’d get better service? Being probably her only customer of the day. Wrong! She was rude, and callus. I ordered a single scoop of ice cream and a sundae and for $ 9… I should have bought of a tub of ice cream from Kroger, because I felt completely jipped!

Love Handels. Usually head over after my boys baseball games. Awesome Cotton Candy ice cream!

2015-02-08 We go to Toledo. We go to Handel’s.Gerry is an ice cream connoisseur and always insists on a stop so we can share a scoop in a cup. I am just glad that we live too far away to share a scoop in a cup frequently. This time we tried the Graham Central Station. We both liked the flavor and the crunchy bits that was in the scoop. We will definitely be back to work our way the flavor list.

it’s not a bad spot, seemingly crowded at any given time. only thing i can fault them on is how expensive the stuff is.

If you go to Handel’s make sure to get the homemade ice cream. You can get soft serve anywhere but you can’t get Handel’s everywhere. You can get quarts to take home which my husband and I do in the fall and winter. We absolutely love the pumpkin pecan ice cream(huge chunks of salty pecans) and the pumpkin ripple is also pretty amazing. We actually prefer to mix the two so usually end up getting a quart of each. The ice cream is bright orange which adds to the fun. They have other good flavors– I had a coconut pie that was really tasty– and they rotate flavors based on the season. The waffle cones are huge so go hungry if you decide to get one of those. They also have a drive-through option which is handy in the colder months for you ice cream fiends who don’t want to get out of your car to stand in the cold.

Who doesn’t love ice cream especially on a nice summer evening? They have a lot of items on their menu different from some other ice cream stands– like frozen hot chocolate as well as classic banana splits, etc. I just had a scoop of mint chocolate chip. The scoops are pretty large. It wasn’t the best mint chocolate chip ice cream that I’ve had but then again, very few places can compete with Graeter’s. With that said, it did hit the spot.
