We went in when they were offering the all you could eat ribs, atmosphere was fun and reminded us of the tropics. We placed our order for the ribs(30 minutes after the place OPENED) and they informed us that they had already ran out. They didn’t offer any substitution or discount on the bill due to their mismanagement. Haven’t been back since and now the place is for sale.

Great atmosphere and service! Menu items decent. We came early on their season and found everything to be pretty good but several items over cooked. Will definitely be back. Very good but not perfect. Hope next time exceeds our expectations because we really like the place and their patio!

EXCELLENT food! My family and I are here on vacation and all 7 of us loved it! The fish is better than in Florida, we also loved the sandwiches, salad, ribs, and especially the homemade key lime pie and carrot cake! The owner, Stephenie, is incredibly sweet and the servers are very friendly and great. Definitely the best restaurant in the area!

I would give this restaurant 4.5 stars. I visit the Irish Hills often from Denver as my parents have a place locally. This is a gem in the area in my opinion. I have been twice on Sundays and the macadamia nut crusted white fish is decadent. All of their fish seems very fresh. The restaurant has a Jimmy Buffet/Key West vibe with a great screened-in patio. Wine by the glass list is very limited, but if you have anyone to share a bottle with you’ll be just fine.

A little pricy, but delicious, and fun, and I don’t know too many places where you can get Land-shark on draft around here. Key West Theme. On US-12 between Clinton and The Irish Hills. They are closed Jan Feb and Mar while the owners go back to Key West but are open in time for Mothers Day. They got Gator too!

Sever was very cheerful and helpful. Food is OK at best but does not justify the very high prices. My wife and I split a fried oysters appetizer which had way too much breading and far too chrispy so much so we couldn’t taste the oysters. Same with our fish dinners which were very salty too. Two drinks each along with two dinners and one appetizer a cup and a bowl of soup no dessert for $ 101.39. Nice place but not worth going back. Others must feel same way as only a few patrons at 5:45 pm on a Friday.

I’m a former Tipton resident and the owners have done a nice job with resurrecting an old local bar/driving range with a new theme. The food is always consistent and tasty. Service has never been a problem and my wife and I have dined there several times. The negatives are the prices are high for the area and the quality. Coconuts doesn’t go out of their way to accommodate special occasions(as we found out on birthday celebrations, twice). The seafood is good for Michigan but you won’t think you are on the coast. The atmosphere is kind of «plastic banana» over the top Key West. They seem to draw the most people for AYCE(all you can eat) nights which is a red flag in my book. The restaurant is closed in the winter which is probably a good thing. If you are riding down US12 and drop in you’ll get a good meal. You aren’t going to think you are in Key West but I’ll give them a B+ for effort.

Outstanding! And we are very picky: we want atmosphere, décor in keeping with the menu, great staff and delicious food. So, it is out a little ways– so what?! I can’t believe someone gave them a low rating b/c of location– are we that spoiled that if a nice place isn’t in the middle of the town or city, then it gets a low rating? I personally commend the owners on bringing a class act to our beloved Irish Hills area– a beautiful area we proudly call home. The key lime pie– made sort of like a cheescake is the best I have ever had– large serving too and worth every penny. We have gone there to even buy the key lime as take out for a special date night and for company, too.

I went to Coconuts when I was back home visiting with my parents. it’s located in the middle of the Irish Hills and it feels a bit out of place if you visit in the winter like I did. The décor evokes an island theme which seems strange when it’s 30 degrees out and snowing. It seems to make more sense when you spend the day at the lake swimming, skiing, boating, etc. However, it is nice to escape the cold in a tropical paradise that Coconuts evokes. The menu focuses heavily on seafood. Everything I had was delicious. If you don’t like seafood then there are a few other options but not many. For drinks there are many specialty«tropical» drinks that are very delicious. I think that Coconuts is an interesting great restaurant. It’s a little expensive in my opinion, especially for rural Michigan. If you live in the area though and want to celebrate, then check this place out.

Prob a 2 ½ star place. The food and drinks are fine with a cheap Jimmy Buffett atmosphere. The big problem is that it’s in the middle of nowhere…
