Had a massive tire failure in the mountains outside of Tillamook. After hitching a ride into town, my driver dropped us here. Not a wide selection, but he had what I needed, and let me use a hose to clean my bike off. The only downer is that it was raining, we were soaked, and just had a long ride in the back of a pick-up truck. In short, we were prehypothermic. But the owner didn’t let us change the tire in his shop or offer to help. I get that I paid for a tire and not service, but a little more shelter than the eves of his store would have been welcome. He didn’t, however, complain about us dripping a half gallon of dirty water on his floor. Kudos!

Got the rear wheel of my Bianchi crunched just outside the Tillamook Cheese Factory while riding the Oregon coast bike route. This was the only place I found for repairs — the young bike mechanic, Daniel, put in a yoeman’s effort trying to re-true the wheel, but it was beyond hope. Fortunately, they had replacement wheels(although not of the high-end quality used on the Bianchi, but hey, I wasn’t picky at this point), and I was back on the road the next morning. Not a wide selection of goods and a bit of a funky layout(bike store sandwiched between an A/V store and a motorbike store), but what they had kept me riding, and I found them willing to do what they could to help me out.
