(Yet) another bakery in Tillamook! Am I dreaming? No, this honestly is the third honest-to-goodness bakery in the town of Tillamook(all of which are solid, btw). This is a brand new(less than a month old?) establishment on the west side of 101 as you’re heading north just about a quarter mile into the flood plain. It is in(a little Tillamook version of) a strip mall along with a video store, The Fern and a Honda ATV dealership(?). The proprietor was super friendly and helpful. They have a wide selection of goodies ranging from delicious Mexican baked goods to donuts, cakes and they’re also open for lunch(burritos and tamales today!). I had an apple fritter and bavarian cream this morning. The apple fritter was probably the second best I’ve had(second to the one at Roger’s Bakery in College Place, Washington for those that are interested – they’re *amazing*). The bavarian cream was very good as well. However, it was prepared a little differently than I’ve seen before. Instead of injecting the cream through a hole in the side, they cut them in half and layer it in and then replace the top half. Their dough is very light and delicious – not the dense stuff. I happen to prefer the lighter version of donuts(in terms of their consistency), so these very much pleased by palate. I will definitely be updating this after I get a chance to try their lunch menu.
