We were on a trip to Flordia with my family and we stopped at this Mexican restaurant el Metate and it was the best Mexican food ever! Their service is great! They were also really clean. It was recommended by my aunt!

El Metate is a great Mexican restaurant! My husband and I lived in Texas for a number of years which has awesome TexMex. This place reminded me of the local place we used to go to. Tonight the food was delicious, it arrived quickly, the service was good, and it was reasonably priced. We shared the fajitas for two! It was a ton of meat! We didn’t finish it at all. I would definitely recommend this place! It was a great experience!

Wasn’t a big fan. The chips were a bit stale.

Food was pretty good but service was so-so. Unfortunately dinner was«ruined» by two things: dirty silverware and four young men, make that little boys that were obviously having their first drink in public. The first time they dropped the MF-bomb, three tables cleared out. Couldn’t speak a sentence without cussing– loudly. Mgmt was oblivious to it:(((((. I’m no choirboy, but…

Awesome place to stop and grab some delicious food when traveling I-75. The restaurant is almost right at the exit and easily missed if you aren’t looking for it(no big signage with restaurant name). The outside isn’t impressive, but once you hit the inside it’s a fun, creative, colorful joint. The menu is typical Mexican fare, not one of those with hot dogs and burgers and tacos. The salsa was a little runny but the flavor was great(little spicy, not lip numbing). Two of us ordered tacos and beans and one ordered a chicken taco salad. No one complained! The sweet tea was spot on as well. The best part was when we got our bill. The chicken taco salad was only $ 3.99 and our total bill was $ 19 and change(3 meals 1 tea 2waters). We’ll definitely be back.

Probably the worst Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. I sent my food back it was so bad and didn’t even want to order anything else. My husband didn’t like his food either. I ordered the nachos and cheese and the cheese was basically runny water with cheese flavoring. The rice tasted stale. The only thing good was the salsa. This is definitely not authentic Mexican food.

were visiting frm texas and got tired of fastt food so we were missing are mexican food we saw this restaurant on Unilocal and it had great reviews. The décor is nice. My judging process starts with the salsa and chip taste it was great also you have to try the chorizo dip. I had the parrilla mexicana hot fresh excellent if i lived this would be my favorite place.

I stopped in Tifton while traveling and decided to eat here. I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Enchiladas de Mole and loved it. I am a big mole poblano fan and theirs was very good! Prices are great!

I couldn’t post a good review fast enough! My husband and I just left El Metate and it was fantastic! The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and is clean. The staff is incredible and so polite, everyone works well together. They really made us feel welcome! The food is incredible! This restaurant is about an hour from our town, but it will be totally worth the drive! :-) also, I’m confused by some of the bad reviews for El Cazador? Isn’t that a totally different restaurant up the road from El Metate? Some of the bad reviews on here aren’t for this restaurant at all. Either I’m confused or other people are?

Reliable good Mexican food. Food is cooked fresh and piping Hot to the table. Salsa is great. My husband loved the pork. We stop here every time we are on a road trip along Rt 75. Sometimes you may have a slight language barrier with the servers if you don’t speak Spanish(ie when ordering plain seltzer water) but overall service is prompt and friendly. Note: address is actually 1201 west second instead of 1021.

This place is great. Stopped here again on our way to the beach. They’ve moved to a new building. It’s really nice. Service was a little weird. They serviced the kids really quickly, then ours came when they were almost done. No big deal and honestly better us waiting then them.

We were craving Mexican on our way home to Atlanta. I ordered cheese dip at least 15 minutes ago. We’ve gone through two baskets of chips and two cokes with a long wait period in between. Still no cheese dip or sign of our meals. I hope the food is decent enough to keep me from becoming a very angry customer… Edit: It wasn’t enough! Salty and terrible tasting food. Oh, and I never got my cheese dip.

Restaurant was noisy. I’m ok with that since my kids are noisy too. The food was reasonably priced and portions were more than we could eat. The black beans were salty. The waiter and cooks were accommodating to our vegetarian request. The best thing about this experience is that the waiter brought the baby’s food first and then my older daughter’s. Every server in every restaurant should follow this guy’s lead. Nothing stood out about the food in particular. I’d stop again if I ever had to stop in this area again. During our meal I discussed with my husband how we might avoid having to eat in these kinds of places next road trip.

Great Mexican restaurant. Good was very flavorful. Salsa was fresh and tasty. I got the Fajita with the shrimp/chicken/pork/ribeye. The pork was Amazing. Everything else that the fam ordered came with rave reviews. Location was slightly off. Keep driving another .25 miles. It’s over the hill now.

Not a good taste. Stopped to grab some to-go food on the way back to Atlanta. Quesadillas had the minimal amount of cheese with«sprinkled» pieces of steak. I also ordered a burrito which looked like a piece of road kill. I’m sorry but I just expect much better from a Mexican restaurant who’s staff is made up of at least 95% Mexican/Hispanic employees.

Amazing discovery. MUSTSTOP. We stop for lunch, on the way up north. 6.99 $ all you can eat special for lunch in the week. And the food is just so good. Dinner menu is really cheap also. I wish there was El Cazador in every city we stop for lunch and dinner, it would make my road trip much easier.

Just not good quality food. Hamburguers for the kids were really… not good. Fajitas were fine. Great service.

This was my third time eating here in the past two weeks. I work in Tifton part time, and there are a lot of places to choose from. I picked this place because it had a full parking lot. I was not let down. The food is delicious! If you’re like me, the first impression of a Mexican food restaurant is the salsa. Their’s is delicious. It’s a little warm for those who are used to bland salsa. It is mildly chunky, and has cilantro in it. The staff is very friendly. It seems everyone on the staff considers themselves to be responsible for each of the guests. I was asked by several different waiters if I was enjoying my meal and if I needed anything. The down side? There’s not really one. The first time I went, I saw that their official health department grade was in the 60’s… I didn’t care too much. Tonight, I noticed that it was a 96. I guess they really got their act together. I never felt like it was not a clean restaurant. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.
