Owner operator who really cares about what is served. It was this or Denny’s and for me, this wins hands down.

On our never ending quest to try new places we came across The Beehive Café after viewing Unilocal recommendations. We were at the café during lunch time on a Saturday and for the better part of our meal we were the only ones there which I found strange. So many great reviews I figured that this placed would be packed. The menu was small but had a variety of things to choose from. Our server didn’t mention any specials and when we ordered our lunch she kept having to check if they had things available. They didn’t have any soup which was listed on the menu. We were told that they were very busy the night before and hadn’t had time to make more. No spinach, no beets and so on. I am all for the farm to table, use of local ingredients movement but you have to offer something for your customers to order. The ice tea was good but there was really no selection for kids drinks besides milk, water or their honey lemon spritzer. I found the food to be OK, not anything special. Most of our group had some version of the spaetzle combined with cheese, chicken or sausage. It honestly didn’t taste any different than something you might heat up out of the freezer section of your local grocery store. I had the rabbit flatbread and it was heavy, too cheesy, lacked a freshness or acidic component. After our meal it started to become busy and took forever to get our check. I really, really wanted to like this place after reading all the previous Unilocal reviews but I don’t think that we will be going back in the future.

This place was amazing! Everything is so fresh, and you can really tell she gets all of her ingredients locally. My friend and I started off with a cheese plate appatizer. First, the crackers seemed like they were homemade. I didnt ask, but they were not like any cracker I have had before. The way they paired with the local summer sausage and fresh cheeses was incredible. I have never been so happy with just a simple cheese platter appatizer. For our main dish, we both ordered one of Ashleys flatbreads and were blown away by how delicious they were. Mine had ground rabbit and fennel sausage with mozzerella cheese. It was exceptional. The décor was chic and stylish, but at the same time it felt very homey and welcoming. All in all, it was one of the best lunches I have ever had and would love to go back anytime.

I had an apricot chicken salad sandwich with a cucumber blueberry salad. It was so good, I got a second order to go. What a gem in a small town. So pleasantly surprised.

Great atmosphere that pairs well with the fresh seasonal veggies. The spritzer was flavorful and worth a try. Chicken Pesto melt was the perfect amount of food and delivered on all cylinders. The owner was very friendly even though I came in towards the end of the night. This place is a Bee plus.

Ate here while visiting my sister. I had a salad, the flatbread, and the spritzer. The flatbread was super awesome. I’d get it again any day. The honey lemon spritzer was good to try once. I don’t know that I loved it enough to order it again. The salad was mostly just romaine leaves and was very bitter with nothing to add any balance. My sister had the bunny-burger, but they were out of buns and tomatoes, so she ended up having it cooked like a grilled cheese on bread with a few bits of lettuce. They were out of a lot of things when we went in about 12:30ish on a Saturday. Their menu changes a lot too according to my sister who had been there before.

This place rocks! Fresh ingredients and a menu that stands apart from any Tiffin restaurant, make the Beehive Café a real winner. We had the summer harvest soup with kale, kohlrabi, and quinoa to start, and the broth was fantastic. I ordered the Alpine flatbread, with chicken, and was blown away. I typically don’t order flatbread, but the décor made me feel comfortable ordering something of this nature. It was outstanding! The crust was crispy, and the center was a pillow of delicious dough covered in melty cheese with feta crumbles. The cucumber-mint infused water was delicious, but I also got a Beehive spritzer with fresh-squeezed lemon juice. It was refreshing and hydrating. Overall, this place blew me away with its eclectic style. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys fresh, thoughtful food with a unique twist!

Everything we tried was great. My favorite was the fennel seasoned rabbit patty melt — it was fantastic!

Wow! Best wrap I have ever had! We are vegetarian and they offer a beet wrap and a sweet potato chickpea one as well. Very unique and pleasant atmosphere and Ashley and Susan were so sweet and accommodating. We live 40 minutes away but will choose to make the drive because this is such an awesome place.

An amazing café with farm to table food based on the season. Ashley is great with any specific dietary needs. I walk in and feel like I’ve walked out of Tiffin for a minute.
