The only reason I give this three stars, is because the service was wonderful. The hostess/server we had was pleasant and sweet and very attentive. We were there on Sunday, Feb 28 right at the start of lunch. Ordered mozzarella sticks for appetizer. They came promptly with marinara, that came directly out of the fridge. If I’m not mistaken, all the marinara for mozzarella sticks have been warm before or at least at room temperature. I ordered the western cheeseburger and curly fries. My husband ordered the Hawaiian with no veggies, just pineapple. His came, with plenty of onion. After looking at my western cheeseburger I was extremely thrilled because it looked amazing. I was so excited to try the first bite! I took a bite and to my surprise, the only thing I could taste, was the BBQ sauce, which was extremely sweet. I looked at the burger and saw the THINNEST patty I had ever seen before and then realized, nothing was seasoned. I thought it was a bit strange, considering they have it blasted everywhere that they had been named best BBQ winner. There was absolutely NO flavor at all aside from the sauce. Even the bacon didn’t taste like anything. It was like eating textured air with BBQ sauce. The curly fries were frozen, but had a coating on them that made them orange like they were pre seasoned. But they too, were lacking serious flavor. The ketchup and mustard bottles were questionable. Ketchup was in a bottle clearly labeled mustard. The mustard bottle was severely sun damaged and Discolored and I wasn’t able to tell if it was just the bottle or if the actual mustard was sun bleached. We did not use either, just incase. I can’t say if we will return or not. If we do, definitely want to try the ribs for sure.

Bad service, bad food. Tasteless chicken. Forgetful waitresses with attitude probllems. Over priced food that should be in a $ 1 menu.

Stay away. The food is basically microwaved food. I just ordered the tequila chicken which is the nastiest chicken I’ve ever tasted. The fries are defrosted fries, bland as can be. Our waitress has a huge attitude too. I really regret coming to eat here. They charge a dollar for side dip like ranch for fries, what in the heck is wrong with this place? Horrible overpriced food. This place is just disgusting. The Pizza place near by would have been a better choice… What a waste of money and time :-(

Best ribs in town? Maybe — given the town is so small. Other reviews got my hopes up for some steak and ribs, so after a day of hiking in Sequoia my group came in around 6, hungry and ready to eat. We ordered and received our food relatively quickly. Overall, I was disappointed by the inconsistency of the food. Most of the people in my group were in some way dissatisfied by their meal. In addition, the steak was ridiculously priced for something that tasted so terrible. Ribs — Some parts were tender, fall-off-the-bone, some parts were very dry. They were more edible with the sauce. Steak(New York) — Parts were well done and parts were rare. All parts were flavorless and too chewy. Almost inedible. Enchiladas — Okay. Meat kind of dry. They messed up my mother’s order, so she got her food when we were all almost done eating. Chicken — Very dry. Not good. Fajitas — Meat quality not good. Rice — Not good. Strange color. Not enough flavor. The only redeeming quality of this place is the nice waiters. I don’t like giving one stars, but after writing this review, I realize how unsatisfactory my experience was.

The friendly hostess greeted us and sat us promptly. We chose patio dining. The only thing was that the hostess was also our waitress, the waitress inside, and the *only* hostess. There were two waitresses waiting on the restaurant and although ours was responsive to tables outside of her section, the other waitress never even acknowledged our existence. Were the western burger and half rack of ribs delicious? You bet. But after waiting 20 minutes, I spent another 15 minutes watching our waitress play hostess while the tables that were seated after us(in waitress #2’s section) got their burgers and BBQ before we did. Don’t get me wrong… Our waitress was clearly trying to play all her roles. She was very sweet, but clearly stressed. If they get the service problem resolved, this would be a solid 4 star restaurant.

Very smart idea to have a grill outside the restaurant, great smell to invite customers! I came here with my family on a Friday during early dinner hours. We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. The hostess was super sweet as she sat as down. We sat indoors because it was in the 90s all week. Darn you, summer sun. The four of us started off with the the nachos. They were just alright, nothing special. I wish it was more loaded. I’ve had more stuffed and filling nachos for the same price at other places. I ordered the NY Steak with mashed potatoes and veggies(carrots and broccoli) as my sides. I had my steak medium rare and was cooked great. Right amount of pepper on it and I enjoyed it. I wish I had my mom’s ribs that she ordered. It truly did slide off the bone and it was so delicious. I also had an horchata to drink but it was very watery. Other than when we got our check, our waitress(not the same nice hostess from the beginning) only checked up on us once the entire dining time and didn’t seem enthusiastic. This place is where you want to go when you’re craving a rack of ribs, nothing else.

Outstanding service, and exceptionally clean. Our server Cassandra was very helpful and informative as she suggested us to try the ribeye, and I chose the mexi-burger double. I was happy to see that they would add an egg to my towering burger even though it wasn’t on the menu. Our steak was perfect, salt pepper and fire, just the way we like it. I would happily return anytime we pass through to Kings Canyon and Three Rivers.

Just like in any other national park, the restaurant options are scarce so you have to pretty much go with whatever«looks good». That’s exactly how we ended up here. This place claimed to have the best ribs in town(there are probably 5 restaurants in the whole town) so we went with the ribs. I was actually impressed with them. The meat was very tender it practically fell off the bone. You could clearly taste the wood flavor from the smoker and it was cooked just right. The only thing I wasn’t too happy about was the fact that they put too much BBQ sauce so I suggest you get that on the side. The nachos were ok. Nothing special about them. They use ground beef, which I wasn’t too big of a fan of but it satiated my hunger. We also ordered rice because the hubs and I are big rice lovers. Unfortunately it lacked flavor so I would suggest skipping that. Keep in mind that you don’t go to a national park to fine and dine, therefore most of these restaurants are normally average. Service was great! The staff was super friendly and fast!

Overall this place is ok. They really need to work on their service. The waiters are simply unprofessional and they don’t have the best menu ever. I always get the BBQ ribs ! They fall off the bone n the BBQ sauce is delicious. The burgers are ok I like their enchiladas souzas too but they could have more meat and a bit pricey.

What can i say, the food was good . The Fam. was starving after a long hike and they wanted a steaks… That did not go far with their prices they ordered hamburgers instead… The onion rings were very good, made from scratch. The ribs were soft and tender and sauced very well but, all you get is 1 side(a little downer for the price) The service was good, the place was clean . However if you have a budget, go somewhere else!

Frozen pre-made meat and fries at a sit down restaurant isn’t acceptable. To be honest, it’s not a BBQ restaurant at all… the restaurant serves, Mexican cuisine. The meat tasted like frozen patties from Costco. The fries were not that far behind. This business has the location and views to be successful. But bad food will keep people away. I will not be returning to eat anytime soon. I’ve had better burgers at McDonald’s.

This is literally the worst place I have ever eaten. It doesn’t even deserve one star. The service wasn’t terrible until I was lied to and then we had to wait over 20 minutes for someone to come by and then go get our check after we were done with our food. The food was TERRIBLE. 1. My dog could’ve made better nachos. I wasn’t super hungry, so I ordered nachos. The chips were a little oily and most definitely stale – not sure how they could have achieved both at once! The bowl of nacho cheese, though… I don’t even think it can be called that. The cheese was so liquified that it was close to the consistency of water. They added very little to it – some canned jalapenos and tomatoes, and a tiny bit of greasy hamburger meat. There were chunks of a weird, cheese-like substance in the bottom of the dish. 2. Apple Cider + Vodka = «Hard Cider» I love hard cider, and it’s called«Cider Mill Restaurant,» so I asked about hard cider because I only saw apple cider on the menu(sans alcohol). The waitress said she wasn’t sure why it wasn’t listed, but they definitely had hard cider that they made there, just like they made the fresh apple cider themselves. So I ordered it and was excited to try it. It tasted like apple cider mixed with either fruity vodka or apple flavored Pucker. When I called the waitress out by saying, «This ‘hard cider’ tastes like someone just added some alcohol to regular cider…» she basically admitted that’s what had happened and quickly offered to take the cider off the bill. BEWARE. DONOTEATHERE. Usually I’m not too picky. I could have lived with the not-so-satisfying nachos, no big deal. But with the audacity they had to try and dupe customers by giving them«hard cider» that was not actually hard cider at all, they lost all of my respect and I sincerely hope they go out of business.

OFirst thing we noticed when we walked up was the sign«voted best BBQ and steak» My bf got the BBQ ribs and I got the garlic shrimp. the ribs were amazing. fall of the bone amazing. but for 17.99 you get a half rack and fries that is it. My garlic shrimp was 16.99 and I got 8 – 10 shrimp(honestly I didn’t count them) and 2 sides. not bad! My only complaint is they charge for everything and it gets a little spendy. with the mozzarella sticks it was 6.99 and you get 1 small marinara and pay $ 1 for a small ranch. For a side of garlic bread it was .99 cents. so for 2 people for dinner it was $ 52. Nice place. great ribs. just a little over priced for the portions!

Was on my way to Moro Rock when I saw this huge sign claiming«VOTEDBESTBBQ&STEAKS» Anytime I see a sign like that I always mentally go «let’s do this.» but always forget to commit to the challenge. On the way back, I needed a post-hike meal. I remembered the ludicrous sign and thought, challenge accepted. :) The rib-eye steak was cooked perfectly. Right amount of seasoning cooked medium with a good amount of char from the wood grill. Flavor was on point and would give the steak alone a 4.5÷5. For $ 20 this was a steal, IMO. The actual restaurant itself needed some up keeping. When seated, I couldn’t help but notice being surrounded by a bunch of unbussed tables. No biggie, but our table was sticky and had 2 different style and sized tables in our booth? The steak more than made up for the negatives, would definitely return for a delicious steak. BTW, if a place claims to have the best steaks and bbq in town, don’t friggin order the veggie burger and seafood. Just sayin’ :)

Very nice outdoor areas, pretty, great food and cheap. Wish we had known about it last night because the place we ate down the road(om nom) was expensive and not very good. Also, sooo pretty eat here before dark and walk around.

I had a very poor overall experience at Sequoia Cider Mill. I updated my review after the owner contacted me to try and make it right. Despite the poor experience, I do really appreciate their proactive communication with the Unilocal community. Some notes. 1. The menu is illustrated with grainy pictures of food that looks very old. It does not at all represent the actual product. Yet by the time I finished, I would have killed for the 20yo food on the menu pictures.(the owner assured me that the website will be updated soon) 2. The prices seemed very high for the portion and quality. The shrimp fajitas had very small shrimp that were overcooked and did not taste fresh. You get rice OR beans. They can’t spring for both on a $ 16 entrée? Also, the waitress groused when my cousin complained about the ridiculously small ¼ oz portion of guacamole provided. I also thought the guacamole tasted prefab, but the owner assured me that it is made from scratch daily. 3. Reserved tables. When we entered the deck, all of the tables by the edge with the best views were reserved and we were told that we couldn’t sit there. Fast forward an hour later, not a single soul had stepped foot on the deck other than my group. The owner commented that reservations must have not shown up. 4. The enchilada suizas were just a combination of stale grocery store tortillas, chicken, and a sauce that tasted similar to cream of mushroom(The owner said it is homemade.) I paid extra for curly fries with my burger. They were just fries that have been left in the fryer so long they have shriveled up. 5. If for some reason you choose to eat here, the burger is probably the safest bet. It was gloriously average. At Sequoia Cider Mill, that’s saying something!
