Without a shadow of a doubt this wash hands down the best burrito and salsa I have ever had. I am actually eating the leftovers now and I am already plotting my next trip there. Wow. Simply amazing fresh food.

Originally we went in for the brunch which included bottomless mimosas, but the food was great. The place was casual and I loved the loteria décor. Brunch came with the mollete(I think that’s what It was called), which was delicious. It was basically a tostada with black beans, cheese & salsa. Bomb! and I got the chipotle chilaquiles(the mole one was good too). Servers were very nice and friendly. Definitely would go back!

I love this place. The chips and salsa are amazing. The Cadillac margaritas are awesome. The passion fruit iced tea is wonderful. The black beans are delish. The nachos are crazy good. I always find the service to be enthusiastic and helpful. Also, they validate for parking.

Loteria is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food is authentic and different. It is unique and tasty. I usually get the carne deshabrada tacos. The restaurant is quaint and colorful with Spanish words and pictures decorating the walls and Spanish music that makes you want to dance. The waiters and very friendly and although I don’t drink, the drinks looks delicious. They have just started doing«Taco Tuesday» with a steal of a deal at $ 3/taco. Please come and try. You won’t be disappointed!

Great food! My work gets catered food from their Santa Monica location so I already knew I liked their food. It was my wife and kids’ first time trying their food. They all liked it and want to go back. It’s a little pricey but really good food. Great flavors. My wife had chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce. I had a 3 taco plate, 2 chicken and one pibil. Tried their tamarindo margarita and the jalapeño margarita. The tamarindo one was great. The jalapeño was a little too spicy. Kids had cheese quesadillas with rice and beans. They have happy hour every night till 6:30 so all the margaritas were only $ 7. Will be back

A year ago I would have told you this would be one of the best fast casual Mexican chains in SoCal. Recently the prices feel like they doubled and they took my favorite pollo in pipian rojo off the menu :/ … I don’t see the price range of sabor or Paul Martins working with the ambiance of la salsa … Bummed I think this place lost its path

Excellent and authentic Mexican food. We had enchiladas suizas, carnitas, and mole poblano tacos. Will be back soon.

Tortillas were good but I’ve had better lunch experiences from a taco truck. The bill was ridiculous. I feel that they marked the bill up 200% on me. I paid $ 34 for 3 tacos and 1 beer!

Wow. How can one restaurant mess up so badly? Everything from the moment we walked through the door was a terrible experience. I came here with my best friend as we were both starving. walking through the door a woman I assume was the hostess? Manager? Whisked away from us saying brusquely that«just sit anywhere.» Ok. I guess. I would say maybe she’s busy but considering we were the only people in the restaurant I am a tad doubtful. We waited several minutes for the server to even reach us, which once again I didn’t understand: no one was in the restaurant. Finally he comes and asks for our order. He was pleasant which warrants the whole one star I gave the restaurant. We waited quite a while for our food(empty. Restaurant.) and when it came out… oh no. My friend ordered nachos. The edges of the chips were burned black, the cheese in the center was unmelted. How do you mess with nachos? My plantains were plopped unceremoniously on a plate in a pool of their own grease. They were at best mediocre. The mini tostada ceviche I had was… boring. And very small. 6 dollar tapas is fine if the tapas is good. These were meh. Then the beans. The drunken beans. It tasted as if a can of beer had just been poured into a pot of beans then served Luke warm. I’ve had beer baked beans and they can be great. This… there’s no other word: both texture and flavor were that of drunken vomit. Add to that the 15 minute period of empty glasses(which I would have appreciated to get the beans out of my mouth) resulted in an overall horrendous experience. Never again.

My wife and I have frequented the Farmers Market location(3rd and Fairfax) for quite some time. Even though that location can get crowded /busy especially on weekends, the food has never disappointed. I’m a big fan of their mole. We finally got around to trying this location and again the food didn’t disappoint. I’ve seen complaints about the price point and not having certain dishes like«Spanish Rice.» Honestly I don’t think the price was that high considering the regional dishes Jimmy Shaw has brought to the menu. Also, Spanish Rice(tomato based) that you normally see on other Mexican restaurants is actually regional to Northern Mexico — since Jimmy is from Mexico City, you’d find white rice(lightly seasoned) instead. We came here for dinner on a weeknight and ordered the following: 1) Happy Hour portion of the«Nachitos» — smaller version of the nachos with chicken, cheese, tomatillo salsa, pick de gallo, black beans, onion, & cilantro 2) 2 Shrimp tacos — one of each salsa with cream, avocado, onion, & cilantro 3) 2 Fish tacos — green and red shredded cabbage, chipotle aioli, & pick de gallo 4) Side of rice & beans(lightly seasoned white rice & black beans) 5) Rice dessert — made with coconut milk, orange essence(rinds), chocolate almond chips Overall, the food was delicious although my fish tacos could’ve used a little more heat in the aioli. With everything we ordered we were stuffed and considering we had sit down /full service, the price was was actually cheap in my opinion.

First off, let me say that the food is amazing! They’re shredded beef burrito is sooooo good when made properly! The meat is just delicious, and their salsa is yummy as well! So… the three starts is for the service, the long wait time to receive our food, and the way they improperly make people’s burritos. Every time I have gone, we sat at the table for about 30 – 45 minutes before receiving our food, and the service isn’t always prompt even though there hasn’t been much people surrounding. Unfortunately, sometimes they wrap the burritos wrong, leaving mostly rice in one half, and partial meat in the other.

Mexican food is not my thing but wow did I enjoy the food here! We started off with chicken taquitos, out of this world. Then my friend ordered the steak, medium, I tried some and it was fabulous! And I’m a Mastros and Cut kind of girl, let alone I’m from Chicago so the best steak is there and I’ve am tried them all! So I had the chicken tacos and they were quite good. I would have never picked a Mexican restaurant for a 5 star place but I paid 70 for two people, my friend got his bday chocolate pie which was okay but tbh I had a whole bottle of moscato, blame World Market nearby so I’m sure that contributed to my crazy 5– star rating. I work in East LA too so I’ve tried everything traditional but this place was incredible. Still shocked as I’m writing this! Also, sports TVs to watch futbol matches and an incredibly friendly wait staff.

Strong Margeritas, a bit pricy but worth it for the taste and the quality. Not the traditional style of TJ mexican food that I am accustomed too, however, it is very tasty and authentic for the region it stems from. For example, the rice is white versus the red that I am accustomed too, growing up in San Diego. Highly recommend.

10 stars if I could. Took my wife out here for a nice lunch while the kids were at school. I’d just gotten my monthly allotment, so we were both feeling hungry. This placed rocked. Flavor was intense, atmosphere casual and private, plus the jalapeño margaritas guaranteed me a little afternoon nookie/round two. My new favorite quiet getaway. I heart the tacos.

I had the Carnitas burrito and it was huge– I split it and still felt completely stuffed. They do put lots of rice and black beans in the burrito– the only thing missing was onions, tomatoes, cilantro — a nice pico de gallo — would give this thing so much more flavor. So I got a side of pico de gallo to add to my burrito which improved the bland flavor. If you love your burritos with just meat, rice and beans than you would love this place but I just can’t have Mexican food without my onions. I thought the prices were a little high but their happy hour menu looks really good– I would come back during that time of 4 – 6 Monday-Friday.
