Went to jinkys last night Omg! $ 15 bucks for a way too spicy tiny omelette If management reads this your staff is brain dead my waiter had no clue there’s an egg bagel either did the food server They handed me a menu with 100 Chilis I picked one and they told me we only have 5– then give me a menu with the 5 that are available Disappointed is an understatement Get a personality Good luck This place is bad

Service was good. Décor could use a bit improvement. Menu choices seem reasonable. I just thought perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes. The Talapia Veracruz was good, except the red sauce used was very salty and felt almost like canned food. The fish was tender and taste decent. The eggs benedict was very spicy, too much even for someone who likes hot salsa and whatnot. And then again, tasted very salty. Perhaps a bad night in the kitchen but if I were to return, maybe I should ask for recommendations. Although our server did say the fish I ordered was a great choice. I would say give them a shot if you have not– but keep expectations low.

The food here tastes amazing, and the staff is very friendly! One of my favorite restaurants by far

The food was absolutely disgusting. The waiter was decent, but we could tell he’s just there for a paycheck. They decided to bleach the kitchen while we were STARTING to eat. The fumes, the terrible«food», and the sub-par service made it unbearable to the point where we asked for almost all of the food to be taken off of our tab. I will never go here again, and I’ll be telling anyone who will listen to avoid this place like the plague. My friends and I are still dizzy, nauseous, and down-right offended. My omelet didn;t have any of the ingredients listed in the menu, and technically wasn’t even an omelet. My food tasted like an old fridge, my boyfriend’s burger and fries tasted like they haven’t cleaned the grill or fryer in weeks, and my friend’s burrito tasted like burnt rubber.

Lots of options and fast service! I tried Jinky’s about 6 months ago using a Groupon. I had high expectation of the place due to the decent reviews online but I was somewhat disappointed. The menu is huge! It has traditional American food, Chinese and even Indian. I ordered the baked fish and it was blend and side vegetables seemed overcooked. The service was good though and food came quickly. I think the problem with Jinky’s is its menu being too huge. I find it difficult for any restaurant to prepare so many different types of cuisine and still being good at each one item. Since my favorite dish is seafood and the fish there tasted frozen, I think I will opt for other specialty seafood restaurants next time. As for prices, they are about mid-scale, slightly more expensive than Cheesecake factories.

Too expensive for ordinary breakfast food. Period. Heck, walk across the parking lot to P&L Burgers and you’ll save $ 10 and get the hands-down best breakfast burrito anywhere. Cheaper!

Trust all the bad reviews on here. Wish I didn’t eat here, just wasted $ 25 on crab egg Benedict that I didn’t take more than one bite of. Who uses imitation crab for eggs Benedict? They should have offered me something else when I told them I couldn’t eat it. Everything from the potatoes to the juice was nasty.

Thai fusion pasta is pretty good, esp succulent shrimps. Chilli sampler offers interesting mix of Oaxaca 7, Roasted garlic chicken 6, Boston Turkey 4 and Colorado beef 3 level of spiciness– we like the Boston and Colorado better, not as salty as Oaxaca. Quesadilla ok average, like most of dishes. Plenty of tables that can seat groups. Dishes slightly pricier than typical café, though menu has more variety of breakfast omelettes, lunch sandwiches, dinner pastas and even steak!

I was extremely disappointed with my meal at Jinky’s today. In general, the food is extremely overpriced, and I always refer to it as something you could cook yourself with ingredients from Vons. Today, though, the service was the real kicker. I ordered a breakfast item(BMO scrambler, small… TINY, but tasty) with tater tots and sourdough toast; was served a fruit cup and sourdough toast. Didn’t feel like asking them to take it back. My friend’s chicken & mushroom sandwich just tasted like nothing but the grill– the charred flavor overwhelmed the whole darn sandwich. They oddly brought the sandwich on its own plate, so just a sammy on a big, white, plain plate, and then brought her fries on a separate big, plain white plate. Zero attention paid to presentation for a $ 10 sandwich. OK, whatever. But when we were done, we waited a good 15 minutes for our waitress, who completely disappeared, to bring us our bill. We were just STARING at the 5 employees goofing off behind the bar, playing with a DSLR camera(managers, feel free to contact me, I took pics it was so atrocious!). We piled our plates on the edge of the table and kept staring. Let me reiterate… 5 employees laughing and messing around at the bar. It was 1:30−2pm, so not crowded. I never tip below 20%, but I did so today, and still felt guilty for it.

I haven’t been back to Jinky’s for a while, but we went in for dinner last night. My daughter went with the Triple Decker sandwich and asked them to only go with 2 slices of sourdough and I went with the Chili-Mac and went with the El Paso chili. The food came pretty quickly and we both enjoyed our meals. Whenever we have gone into Jinky’s the service is never top notched. I think the issue is that there is no one to give the staff a sense of urgency nor to train them properly how to work properly. When they first opened the owner was always there, but for the last year or so I haven’t seen him. If they had better management to train their staff I’m sure they would do better then they do there. I only say this is because the reason why we chose Jinky’s last night is because we had a buy on get one coupon which I found in the Acorn and there was another in today’s edition. For that it’s defiantly worth the so-so service.

Finally! — a cozy breakfast joint in Thousand Oaks that isn’t Eggs’N’Things. We all love the classic breakfast star of Thousand Oaks, but Jinky’s is a much welcomed addition to the variety-less local breakfast scene. Tucked away near Cisco’s and the old Albertson’s along Arboles, Jinky’s is a lot cuter from the inside than you’d expect. The interior design has a mash-up of styles but it works fine. There’s even a little bar with a couple TVs, so Jinky’s is a good spot even when the games are on. Just like the décor, the menu is a mash-up, including a crazy variety of breakfast and lunch options that all look good. Jinky’s serves up all the classics — every benedict, every omelette, scramble, or sweet thing — but there are some interesting additions like Indian mango lassi and a variety of house-made chilis. Some of the options are a little hit-or-miss, but I dig the creativity. The turkey and veggie chili — bomb! We got ours in an omelette and it was delicious. And those tater tots? Perfection! I don’t even like potatoes but those things are addicting. Jinky’s — I’m coming back again. Those Swedish pancakes over at Eggs’N’Whatever can wait.

Food has gone downhill big time over the last 6+ months. Last 4 times was pretty bad. Used to go there all the time. 2 stars instead of one because the service is always good.

My first night in town to visit the fam, and my parents suggested Jinky’s. I ordered the California sandwich, and it was amazing! Turkey, avocado, mushrooms, Ortega chilies and cheese on perfectly grilled garlic sourdough bread. I made everyone at the table listen to me bite into my sandwich because of the amazing crunch. I was called a nerd, but I don’t care because – no joke – that was the best grill job on a sandwich ever. Lol. A bit pricier than your average casual fare, but I think the quality of ingredients warrants that. I’ll be back for sure!

I invited my sister here for a birthday breakfast for my wife. Her response, «lol that’s not breakfast» Can everybody please educate her on this delightful restaurant? I’ve eaten here before and the experience I had makes it a no brainer when somebody asks«how about jinkys?»

BREAKFAST: My wife and I were absolutely blown away at the food quality, the food is on par with the Marmalade Café in Westlake Village for half the price. It’s very hard to get a seat because of this. The staff is young, but the food is great. It’s like Top Chef meets Eggs N’ Things. Not sure how I missed this place for so many years!

Ancient China gave us the great wall – the Greeks, democracy. NASA put man on the moon and Jinky’s discovered Himalayan Beef Chili. But the constitution of a true gourmet establishment can hardly be defined by the mere sustenance that is processed through its kitchen however – rather, the people. If there was ever a philosopher among restauranteurs, his name would be Tony, son of Greg of The Thousand Kingdoms of Oaks. It could be said that Plato omitted a fourth category of citizen from his ideological Republic – and that is the Restaurant Manager. I like to refer to it as, a priest of hospitality. If that ideal were to ever be materialized in an organic and conscious being, it would take shape in Tony. While we didn’t have the pleasure of being accommodated by another elite, Katie, she was quite lovely nonetheless. The concept of «server» I learned today, can be taken to a higher, dare I say, divine status. I can honestly say she is the sole reason I will return with such urgency. So now the question begs – the true meaning of Unilocal’s existence and your visit to this review. That is, ‘would I recommend Jinky’s?‘ Well, in the words of Tolstoy, «…a man’s every action is inevitably conditioned by what surrounds him and by his own body.» Therefore I conclude, engulf yourself at Jinky’s. Eat, drink and be merry – fed by the nourishing food and people that constitute this utopia known as, Jinky’s Café of Thousand Oaks.

Who manages this place? The women’s restroom was filthy. I saw the busboy use the same rag to clean the floor in the bar area & wipe down a table top. The bartender brought our drinks over & dropped them off without a single word. The food is just okay. On a positive note, our waiter was very good. But, I’m never going back.

Horrible place with out dated online ordering system. Placed order for Thousand Oaks location, order ended up in Sherman Oaks. When came to pick it up to Thousand Oaks they did not have my order, had to pay again and waited for food to be prepared. In the meantime they demanded for me to pay for it again and at the same time I was charged for it Sherman Oaks. Contacted Sherman Oaks location– they said it was just authorization and it will never will be actually charged. Well today it was turned into actual charge. Numerous attempts to resolve it, lead to nowhere. They will not return phone calls and their manager is never in. Hard to believe but one general manger covers 5 locations and is the only person who can fix this problem. So my actual rating is 0 !!! Beware!!! Plus food is not that good. Pricing does not support quality and taste.
