I’m an older man with a concern about macular degeneration. Dr. Matzkin was not forthcoming with information. His intent, it seemed, was to do the refractive exam and move on to the next patient. I will not be returning to see him.

Updated to add: I was contacted in Dec. 2013 because they are now under new management. They now have an email address and have replaced some office staff. They also offered to look into any billing issues. Good to know! Decent eye doctor, personable. His front office staff isn’t very friendly or helpful. My 2 issues are that he told me about a procedure, which seemed like a small thing(it took 5 minutes) and it was over $ 1000. He never mentioned cost and I never asked, but it was a big shock to get that bill. It certainly made me trust him less. The other thing is he has no email, which just seems weird to me in 2011. I think it is poor customer service to have no email access.
