Massage Envy – Thornton

I bought a whole year of massages. Most of them do a good job. Amy was one of the better ones for me. If you buy the 1 year plan, you CAN’T get out of it without a Doctors note… Lol. the other thing that burns me is you paid for the year, but if you don’t use them all, you loose them! To me, that is just taking tip money right out of the employees hands.
Overall, good experience.

I have been making appt requests online and leaving messages — THEY HAVE NEVER BOTHERED TO GET BACK TO ME. They NEVER answer the phone. I called every 10 minutes the other day for about an hour. I called every afternoon (3−4ish) after work for 2 weeks. As of yesterday I give up! I have been going to arvada west and belmar for years, they are awesome. Polite & friendly and never, ever have they not answered their phone, and they ALWAYS responded to my online appt requests.
I moved to Thornton and I guess I will just have to cancel my ME membership and find another company to give my business to!

This location doesn’t like to answer their phone. If you would like a massage here you need to go visit in person to schedule an appointment.

Absolute worst location ever!!! These people are worse than Comcast. We had 6 credits to use from a membership cancelation from back home. When I filled out the information they put me in the system with my last name starting with a V instead of a B. They told me I would have to tell the receptionist when I came in because they didnt know how to fix it. They then made me fill out all the paperwork over again every time I came in because when I would tell them my name was misspelled in the system they ignored what I said and told me I would have to fill out everything again. They couldn’t find our credits which took us an extra 30 – 45 minutes after each session for them to figure out. Every time after 30 – 45 minutes they would say «Oh I see it, I tried it with a V like you said» they never even tried until then no matter what i said. We still have 1 ½ credits left and have no intention of using them because of all the hassle we have to deal with. We also found out today they charged us a random $ 50 for no reason and when we called they said we would have to take it up with our bank as they have no record of the charge. The staff behind the counter is the dumbest most worthless group I have ever met. Additionally when my girlfriend got a massage from one of the males, he began to rub her stomach which she specified against. She asked him very politely and calmly if he would not do her stomach. He then began to ramble on about how awkward he felt now and how he didnt know if he could continue. Then told her his wrist was hurting and he wouldn’t be able to use that hand any more. He said he has to work to much because the cost of living is too high and he would quit if he could because he hated his job.
As I said before we have 1 ½ credits left but this place is so horrible we are throwing away pre-​paid massages.

I went to Massage Envy in Thornton for a massage and unfortunately the experience was just eh. The massage was average at best and the sales pressure at the end is a huge turn off. Why would I pay a monthly fee for a below average massage???
The massage was basic and rushed. I told her where my sore spots were but she didn’t address them at all during the session. My husband received a massage at the same time and he had the same bad experience. We both agreed that we won’t be returning to this place. It’s a waste of time and money.

Therapists are so so. Impossible to book a facial appointment. Appointments I book well in advance and then they call you to cancel due to the massage therapist quitting. Feels like they have a hard time keeping a staff, which usually is due to management and owners not treating the staff properly. I will not continue my membership when my year is up. I would give no stars if it was an option.

Omg this location is a franchise and hss the worse business ethics!!! I had a membership in 2014 and cancelled it in Nov 2014 (there are LOTS of hoops to jump thru just to cancel AND IF you are approved to cancel then you can!!)). Anyway, I just noticed they have been charging my credit card for the pass months! I called and Megan (the manager as of Feb 2016) tells me I never cancelled my membership!!! And do I have proof because they magically can’t find anything in my file. OMG !!! If I knew how unethical they are I would have kept my ‘proof’ but I trusted that a big company like Massage Envy would be honorable! Megan also went thru the cancellation policy, all of which I did in 2014, n said that’s the only way to cancel. I was sooooo mad! I called my credit card company and together we called Megan. Well magically Megan now cancelled my membership over the phone! Emailed me a confirmation that I cancelled but won’t refund my money nor give me the name of who OWNS this franchise!!! Now I see there are class action lawsuits from a year ago and MANY complaints about their unscrupulous cancelling policy! Weird that when my credit card company called MEGAN can suddenly cancel my membership without going thru the hokey pokey! So they CAN cancel with no written consent! BUT they WILL NOT refund my $ 1500 not tell people who owns this franchise! As of now my credit card company is fighting for my refund and if they don’t get it, I WILL go to small claims court and name EVERYONE involved! If any lawyer would like to handle my case feel free to contact me! I hope, Ms Manager, working for this slimy franchise is worth it! See you in court if this isn’t resolved.

I’ve had massages at Massage Envy before but never a facial until I visited this location. It was heavenly! The esthetician, Jasmine, listened to my concerns about the problem areas with my skin and did a great job with the facial. I never imagined it would be so relaxing! She recommended products that would work great for my skin and even game me some samples to try. I am definitely going back for more facials. And massages!

This was my first time at this location. The young lady on the phone was very nice and was able to fit me in when they were almost booked up. They were very friendly to me and my service dog when we arrived. Then I met my therapist and she honestly gave me the best massage I have ever had. She was very thorough and very nice and very interested in me and my needs. BEST PLACE EVER!!!

First time client here, I had a 2 hour massage yesterday from Melissa. She was fantastic! I told her my problem areas and what I wanted her to focus on and that she did. She also found areas I didn’t even know were problems and worked those out too. She was very professional and made me feel very comfortable and relaxed.
The front desk staff could use some work however. They are the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5. They lack some professionalism and friendliness. There was a lot of laughing and giggling from them while I waited and listening to their phone conversations I was surprised at how unfriendly and unprofessional they sounded.

I was a customer of Massage Envy on 120^th at the early part of 2009. My first visit I signed up for the yearly contract in order to get 1 massage a month and additional massages at $ 40. I had my member ship for a couple of months when I lost my job and had to move to a town that was over 150 miles (in Kansas) to the nearest Massage Envy. So I read through my contract and there is a clause in it that states if you move to a location more than X number miles (either 60 or 100) away than you may cancel your membership.
So I went to the location and asked to cancel my membership due to the fact that I would be moving to a town far away from any of their locations. I was given a blank form which I put my name and new address and signature on and handed it to the gal at the desk.
A few months later when checking on my bank account I noticed a withdrawal from my back account to Massage Envy in the amount of $ 49.99. So checking online I looked at the previous month and noticed another withdrawal of the same amount. Now at this point I’m unsure how long this has been going on because my online viewing only allows me to look back one month. So, I call the location and speak with a gal at the front desk and express my concern. She tells me that she will have a manager call me back and when I finally hear from Maria (manager) she says I signed a freeze form and never canceled my policy. She says there is no way to refund my 3 withdrawals from my banking account but offers me a credited massage. Little good that does 150 miles away and unable to afford food let alone gas. Did I mention I’m 6’3 and 250lbs and the masseuse they assigned me was all of 5 foot and 90 lbs. Yeah, didn’t do much. Find a place you can pay as you need and stay away from this corporate chain that requires a contract. Not a good deal in the end.
*Update — There is currently a class action lawsuit against Massage Envy Corp. but the time to file for settlement is past. No worries though as it’s not a monetary settlement, only more crappy massages.

Went to see Kaytee on 6÷26÷15. I had recently had arm surgery on both arms so I wrote on the form before I went in that I didn’t want any work done on my arms. I then met Kaytee and repeated the same thing to her. Massage started fine, but after about ten minutes on the table, Kaytee starts to work on my left arm, I again repeat to her that I had surgery on both of my arms a week ago, she laughs and says ok and continues to massage my arm, albeit with a little less pressure. I grit my teeth and count the minutes until she is finished because I don’t want to make a scene. She then moved to my back. I had specifically asked her to work on two knots in my back. She ran her hand over them once and asked if that got them. I tell her exactly where the knots are again, and she ran her arm down my back again, then said, «Ok, that’s good. Its smooth, I got it.» She spent all of 3 minutes on the spot that was main reason I scheduled the massage. Thinking I am about done with Kaytee, her excessive chatter, and her inability to listen or follow directions, I am mentally planning my quick exit (to take my mind off the pain she is inflicting). She then starts massaging my OTHER ARM. This woman really doesn’t listen! I again tell her that I had surgery last week to remove multiple lipomas and my arm is still tender so I would prefer her not to massage it. I might as well have been talking to the wall! As she continues to massage my arm, she tries to sell me on the advantage of buying Massage Envy’s Membership because she could just massage my lipomas away instead of me having to have them cut out. I couldn’t get away from this girl fast enough! She was friendly and her massage on my neck and upper back was ok, but she really ruined the whole benefit of the massage by talking nonstop and massaging places that I didn’t want massaged. After she finally finished, I went out to pay and there is a line with three people in front of me. There are six Massage Envy employees wandering around. Finally one of them asks if they can help me. I excitedly go over, but when she sees my paperwork, she says, «Oh, I’m sorry. Kara is the only one who can check you out.» This makes no sense to me, but I go back to my original line and continue to wait 15 minutes for Kara to take my money. This location of Massage Envy did not come close to offering me a relaxing, enjoyable experience. I would highly suggest you try somewhere else.

I finally went in to use my birthday gift certificate, and the experience was better than I expected. My masseuse, Amy, was very professional and followed my massage preferences exactly as I had written them out. Amy’s demeanor was calming and soothing from start to finish. I was impressed with the entire visit and left very relaxed and happy. It’s been a long time since I had a masseuse as skilled as Amy was!

I visited the first time to use a gift card and get a prenatal massage, it was great. I decided to re-​visit and just pay the $ 80 for a massage but they did talk me into a membership contract which is where it ALL WENT DOWN HILL!!! I scheduled a couples massage the next month. My husband and I were 15min early BUT our massage therapist was about 15 min late. To make it worse they didn’t add 15min onto our 1hour massage so we got about a 40 min massage because we undressed quickly. After I gave birth the massages were nothing great.
The billing aspect is horrible. They don’t tell you you have to go in a physically cancel (once your 1 yrs is up) so they continued to bill me 2 months after my membership expired. OH AND THE BEST PART I accumulated 5 massages and have to use them all within 30 days!!! great right!!! ughh I will never go here again or recommend this place. Horrible customer service and not just this location I visited 3 different places… all the same lack of consistency.

Called 5 different times this week and they never answer the phone. Sure would like to use my gift card.

This place didn’t have my appt on file the same day my wife made it, even though I showed them that they had charged our card for the massage, then said they couldn’t reverse the charge, and didn’t honor the appt. last straw for me. There are other places to get deep tissue massage, so go with someone else. I’ll never be back.

They made this error right. I went in today (01−04−15) for a 2 hour massage which was comped so that was nice. The massage therapist was great too. Everyone makes mistakes and I appreciate their effort to make it right. All in all I’m a happy customer.
I called yesterday (12 – 31) and asked to schedule an appointment for that day or today (01 – 01) for a 2 hour massage with a male massage therapist. The woman who answered said that they were booked for today (12 – 31) but she could schedule me for tomorrow which was 01 – 01. I said great! I would like a 2 hour silent male massage therapist. She said ok we can see you at 12… I said great and the call was over. I live in green valley ranch but drove 45 min to this location because I was not pleased with the very talkative massage therapists at the Cornerstar location hence why I asked for a silent massage. When I arrived at the location 5 minutes early as requested by the scheduler and walk up to the door only to discover they’re closed today I was livid! I wasted 1 ½ hours driving from my house to this location and back for no reason. Wouldn’t it have been nice to know they were closed on 01 – 01? I know most businesses are however when a scheduled answers the phone and states she can schedule me for tomorrow (which is 01 – 01) then I will believe her. I left a voicemail and this Unilocal review so hopefully they’ll make this right.

It is much better to find another massage spot. anything is better than this place. my fiancé and I truly gave it a chance. My fiancé signed the year contract as a nice gesture for me. We tried multiple therapist, but it was always a hit and miss. Sometimes it was good, other times they didn’t listen to what we wanted and were a complete waste of our monthly dues. On top of that, once you signed a year contract, they neglect to tell you you have to physically go in to cancel. Even after your contact is over, they will continue to charge you if you don’t go in. So if you sign a contract pray that you remember a year from now to go in and cancel it because they will make sure to not mention a word about it.
This is truly the Walmart of spas, so my suggestion is to do a little more research and visit a local spa, they cost about they same and have way better therapist.

I had a giftcard so I scheduled a deep tissue massage. My therapist, Valerie, was fantastic. She gave just the right amount of pressure and was surprisingly strong for her small frame. I left feeling super relaxed.
Massage Envy is a membership massage place, so be aware of that when you go in. You will get a sales pitch. It’s great if you have the money, but personally not for me.

After 3 years of being a member, I am moving on. It has been so difficult to find therapists that are consistently good here. Courtney has been great for a long time, but she books up 1 – 2 months in advance.
For the money, I feel there are much better options out there.
Also, FYI: If you sign up for a membership, you are locked in for one year. You have to give at least 30 days notice if you want to quit and they have a «Use or Lose» policy. Meaning: If you have 3 sessions banked, they will disappear, even if you paid for them once you cancel.
