This is by far the worst place to waste your money. The staff is very rude and inconsiderate the wait times are over 30 min for a burrito. I would no recommend this location to anyone.

Super Spicy Mexican food. Good spicy! My horchata was the best and the burgers have a decent style. We still can recommend it. The potty will be your best friend afterwards:-)

I ate here a couple times and I have nothing good to say about it. I wanted to like this place; it’s near my home.

Why would you put bacon in my burrito??? I asked and paid for a vegetarian potato & egg burrito(with guac & sour cream+$ 3?!)…why why why tf would you put bacon in my burrito?! Besides your attitude, y’all suck dick, and not in the hot way. #winning and proving all of these Unilocalers right. Thanks for charging me $ 12 for a(shoulda been) meatless burrito. You should probably sweep the foyer so it doesn’t look like homeless people live there. Ratchet as fuck, and proving the stereotypes right.

Once again i reneged on a promise to myself to never step foot in Chubbys restaurant again. I used to live across from the 83rd and Washington location the place is filthy and the service always iffy. I still work down the road so when one of my coworkers said he was going there for breakfast I said OK. We didn’t get all our food the food we got wasn’t good and the menudo was all fat I have never had menudo with globs of fat larger then the tripe. This restaurant is only for the late night people that are so drunk they could care less what they are eating. I will never give this place another dime of my money and anyone that asks I will tell them to stay away. The place is living off a reputation earned long ago and long ago forgotten about. If you are looking for good fast Mexican food stay away you will regret your choice to eat at this place.

Horrible burrito microwaved and not even freshly prepared. I lived in Mexico before so I know good Mexican food and my friend from Denver recommended this place so I went to see what he was talking about. so I have now figured out that not only does my friend not know what good quality and fresh Mexican food should taste like but also that I will never be going back to Chubby’s. I ordered the hamburger burrito because the girl at the counter said it was one of the most popular items on the menu. it was $ 7.60 before tax and was half the size of a Chipotle or Qdoba burrito and I literally sat down immediately after ordering it and it came out in under 1 minute which means they don’t prepare fresh and quality ingredients and they use microwaves. if I wanted a microwave burrito I’d go to the grocery store and buy one and microwave it myself. I shouldn’t have to pay over $ 8 with tax for a mediocre sized nasty burrito where you can taste the low quality ingredients right away and its microwaved in under a minute and given to me in a styrofoam box when I told them I was eating in(not in a to go box). absolutely disgusting and I will make jokes to my friend now that he has no idea what good tasting Mexican is. don’t go here unless you like cheaply made and low quality ingredients and microwaves. oh there horchata doesn’t even taste like real horchata from Mexico and is wayyyyy sweeter than real horchata should taste like plus it’s probably not even real horchata cause I could taste it right away that it was nothing like the horchata served in Mexico. yuuuuuk!

Place is a hit or miss. I usually go here late at night so I will go based off that experience. The environment is disgusting, sure its cheap food, but at least keep up to date on certain things so the place dont look like a dump. Some employees can be rude, but like the food, it’s a hit or miss. If you are in drive-thru and you want to place 2 seperate orders, forget it, supposedly with their new computer system it’s not possible. I asked if they could just take my order and place another order as if they were taking the next cars order and they simply did it. I dont know what the big deal was but they gave me attitude. This place still looks the same as it did years ago, just more disgusting. The only modern things it has is a bunch of security cameras. Beware, the parking lot has holes everywhere. I don’t expect much from a place like this, but if you are running a business, try to keep it up to date instead of ghetto. All this tells your customers is you are greedy and only care about profits. Im still wondering how this place passes the health inspections. The cooks do not wear hair nets and they do not where gloves when touching your food. ____ After reading other peoples reviews, I need to add that I highly agree with what they are saying about the employees attitudes. They all look depressed and mad about something. Almost like they are forced to work there with no pay. If I’m there to get food, I’m helping you by putting money in your paycheck, at least look a little alive. Something tells me this has to do with the owner and how it’s ran.

Only reason I come here is because the original chubbys on 38th is too far from my home. I enjoy the food, everything is smothered to perfection. But maybe if the employees didn’t always look like they were in the middle of a really good«chisme» I could actually get my food in a timely manner. Seriously spend 20min plus in the drive thru… everytime.

The place was packed, and there was a line for the drive thru. It’s evident this place is very popular, but I won’t make a special trip to come here again. The place was old, dingy, and dirty. I made my order to go. Prices are reasonable, and portions are generous. The food was ok.

I have heard great things about chubbys so I was excited to try it… However I was disappointed. The place was disgusting super dirty we ended up still waiting in line and eating outside. And the food was nothing special I heard it is just this location though after asking my friends that were gushing about Chubbys the other one is better than this.

I used to love this Chubby’s but over the years it has changed. The green chili isn’t the same and it definitely isn’t consistent. The food just doesn’t wow me anymore. Not sure when it started going downhill, but this really saddens me. The last visit I waited in the drive thru for 30 minutes and once I finally got to eat my meal, it was disappointing. Not worth the wait anymore. I still go to the other locations in the Denver area, but this one used to be my go-to, I probably won’t go to anymore.

The food, in my opinion is delicious. They have the best green chili and smothered fries:) It’s too bad the old building isn’t a little more sanitary-looking:/ That doesn’t seem to stop people though, the place gets packed!

Holy dirty restaurant Batman! My husband used to go to Chubby’s in Arvada years ago, and enjoyed it, so we went out of our way to have lunch with the kiddo there today. I didn’t have high expectations, assuming it wouldn’t be as good as Santiagos in Lafayette(the BEST Santiagos). I was unfortunately right. I am not a germaphobe in the slightest, but I have never felt so uncomfortable and«icky» in a restaurant. The rundown, dingy, dirt caked, grimy shop made me want to leave tracks on the sticky floor as I grabbed my family and high tailed it out of there, but my husband kept calming me down, insisting that the food was worth it. After waiting 30 minutes(with 2 people in front of us) to even order, we ordered the large green chile smothered fries, the mini burritos, and a large drink, all of which we were charged more than the posted menu price for. We paid in cash(which was the first question asked), didn’t receive a receipt, and immediately after we finished ordering the cashier was yelling to help the next customer, so I didn’t have a chance to object to the overcharge. 10 minutes into the 40 minute(after ordering) wait for food, I felt the need for my family to wash our hands before eating(again, I am not a germaphobe, and I am never compelled to insist that everyone scrub like surgeons before eating, only at Chubby’s.) It took another 5 minutes to get the attention of the cashier to get the code for the lock on the bathroom door. The bathroom was just as bad as the rest of the place, and I didn’t feel any cleaner after leaving. Luckily for Chubby’s, there was more than 20 minutes left for us to wait for our food, during which my husband assured me and the restless, hungry kid, that it was all worth it. He was very convincing, and I was very hungry, so by the time our food was finally ready, I had forgotten all of my concerns. I was excited to try the food that he had talked about for years. … and I was still left disappointed. The fries were unevenly cooked(some burned, some raw, mostly soggy, sad, and flavorless.) The green chile was too spicy to eat. I am a moderate wuss when it comes to heat(I can handle medium to slightly hot), but this was overboard(especially for the 6 year old). We weren’t asked mild or hot when ordering, so I can’t say which green chile we were served. The mini burritos were adorable, but over cooked(dark brown and crispy/crunchy, which is words that don’t come to mind when I think of burritos, miniature or not) The beef and bean filling looked and smelled like canned cat food that was left in the sun to dry out. The fact that it was served with a tiny portion of water with a hint of salsa didn’t help(Seriously, it was the most watered down, pathetic salsa I’ve ever witnessed.) My formerly enthusiastic husband left feeling embarrassed for bringing us there, although I attempted to remain positive through the entire experience, wanting to spare his feelings. I really should have followed my first instinct and left when I read the absurd amount of prominently displayed, negative signs plastered all around. Any establishment that cares about their customers wouldn’t dare proclaim that all sales are final, they refuse to authorize a refund for any reason, and it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the accuracy of their order before leaving. The to-go orders are 2 paper plates stapled together. How is a customer expected to thoroughly inspect their order for mistakes without making a giant mess of everything? It should never be the customer’s responsibility to make sure that their order is correct. I truly do not understand how they are still in business. I have seen food establishments that are better in every conceivable way fail, yet Chubby’s is still there. I knew it was a «greasy spoon,» hole in the wall, shout your order across a counter type place going in, and I was okay with that. I didn’t expect fine dining, sparkling crystal glasses, or sharp dressed waiters. In the end, it was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. … and the owners and managers will never reply to this review to attempt to make it right(since they haven’t replied to the other negative reviews). That shows a complete disregard for the customer.

The food is sloppy. I used to like it here but it just got bad. Specially after the picture of a insect on the fries hit social media. This location had went down the hill and I will never visit again.

This is not the most sanitary of all places to eat. However, one does not go to a place named Chubby’s and expect a fine dining experience just saying. What you can expect is the baddest Mexican food for your body. Seriously, everything on the menu can be smother in their infamous green chili; which I am totally not complaining. I am addicted to their smothered chili cheese fries topped with carne asada steak; so much carbs, so spicy, but oh so good and cheap. If I was on a strict diet this would be my cheat meal, but I am not so I eat this whenever I want.

I have been a customer of this Chubbys for years. Sometimes the food is a gamble. But the Times they do get it right, it’s actually pretty good. I’m giving this Chubbys two stars, although the food is hit and miss, the customer service blows ALLTHETIME. Do the owners not realize that people do not come back because the staff are less than friendly. They obviously hate working there. Anyway, there are times where I just drive the extra ten minutes and buy my food at the Chubbys on 38th Ave… the food is ALWAYS good and the customer service is pleasant…

So upon arrival the first thing that’s blatant is how filthy this place is. There is crap everywhere and its clear that its been there for a while and nobody on duty cares. $ 27 for 2 people to eat at a place like this seems a bit high to me personally. The sign on the wall thats telling everyone that no refunds will be given is making me slightly nervous as i wait(18 minites so far) for my order. The general clientele seems to be that of a prison work release program. 26 minutes in, finally get our food. The food was as disappointing as the wait. Sub-par is probably the accirate way to say it. A smothered burrito that only has meat inside it? So disappointed. This joins a few other places that locals rave about but that fall short enormously. Will never return here again.

It may look like a dump, but MAN, the food is great! Just the right balance of spiciness. Spicy enough to hurt a little bit, but mild enough to keep you coming back. You won’t be hungry again for hours. Besides, it’s Gabriel Iglesias’ favorite place to eat!

Third groupon out of three. Inside on Sunday is filthy. I just order their quart of beans and 3 packages of tortillas to go. Needed to use it before expires. Never coming back other then getting their 12 pack of large flour tortillas for $ 1.75
