I stumbled onto Happy Creek somewhat on accident on my way to Middleburg, and boy am I happy I did. Happy Creek is a half coffee house half bike shop in the town of The Plains VA. They are the only coffee house I have found on the east coast to offer Nitrogen infused tap system cold brew, and it was top notch! They also offer great pour over coffee, and an extensive menu of great coffee creations. If you are anywhere in the area I highly recommend hitting this place up! Its well worth the stop, and even going out of your way for! I will be back again anytime i’m in the area.

Stopped by as we passed the Plains. Everything is gluten free and I bet their cold brew last longer than Starbucks. Great menu, and it’s a bike shop as well. Definitely a small town coffee shop but worth the trip. Got a cold brew heated with mystery flavor! Very good!

I’m a latte gal. Only two flavors to choose from: vanilla & mocha. One size/​one shot 12 oz. only. No whip cream available. This coffee shop is known for it’s UNUSUAL (nitro brew coffee) & healthy drink alternatives.

This is a serious coffee shop. They have pour overs, and a dual lever piston espresso machine. Their roast is not too dark, and it’s fresh. Ordered a nitro cold brew, which they have on tap. Tasted great. Wish they were closer to my home.

Coffee and bikes are 2 of my favorite things — this place has both! Mostly a coffee shop but they are serious about providing bike fitment and repair. You wont find a bike showroom here (that is at their bike retail store in Haymarket) but you will find amazing coffee, comfy atmosphere and friendly service. If this place were located in fairfax they would be millionaires :)

I’m in the coffee industry, and have my own coffee shop near by… But when I’m in the mood for something other than my products, this is the place I stop by. Sweet hand-​crafted drinks, lovely staff, and the atmosphere is very welcoming! Best of luck to you guys.

Great coffee hot or cold. Warm and welcoming staff and cool and friendly crowd. Just note that brewing a good cup of coffee takes patience. Place your order then check out the high end bicycles and accessories while waiting for your treat.

Passing through The Plains last Sunday on my way home from the Farmers Market, I stumbled across this place — apparently it’s been open about 3 weeks.
I needed some caffeine and so ordered a large iced coffee. They made it using the Pour Over technique. The coffee was cold, strong and delicious! It was a hot and humid day out and the AC in their shop felt good! The young lady working the counter that day was named Kat/​Cat? She was very nice and did a good job! Cool little coffee shop!

Stopped into Happy Creek Coffee after a quick run to the Post Office, and was thrilled at the cappuccino and mocha we got. The flavor was out of this world, and closest aligns to beverages we got in Italy. My husband is extraordinarily picky about his cappuccino — either the taste is too burned or too bitter or too meh with beverages from chain coffee shops. Same goes for my mocha, I normally don’t order them anywhere else. We are both ecstatic over the freshness of the roast, the robustness sans bitter/​overly burned taste. If you’re passing through The Plains, make this your coffee destination. As Happy Creek sits in with Haymarket Cycles, opportunities abound for meeting new folks over a fantastic cup of coffee.

What an interesting use of space! This coffee shop shares its space with a bike store. The inside is pretty huge with high ceilings and there is some bar seating and some coffee tables.
The coffee was pretty good and so was the ambiance. Next time I am in the Plains, I will stop by.

Tasty Nitro coffee on tap. Very cool space and a welcome addition to the formally coffee-​starved area. You’ll get well-​crafted espresso drinks here, too, as well as any tea or smoothies you might want.

WORTH THE MINUTE DRIVE OFF 66! Fantastic coffee shop, serving freshly ground pour overs with beans that are roasted over in Front Royal. Steel Cut Oatmeal served all day, and Fruit Smoothies. Really a great vibe.
