Memaloose Rest Area

Good clean restrooms. Easy access. Nice landscaping. Wide car parking spots. Last public rest area for 88 miles!

The Dalles, OR: Trees and paved walking paths!
A number of picnic tables scattered throughout this mini park off eastbound I-​84. Clean facilities. Spigot for poochies on drinking fountain located in front of the larger, main restrooms building. Winterized spigot mounted on parking lot facing wall of main building. Great information signs on the history of the Oregon Trail and surroundings mounted near the main building. A smaller restroom building is located on the west end, adjacent to the auto parking area.
A grassy Pet Area is available on a slope also by the auto parking section. An additional Pet area is offered by picnic tables on the freeway side of the big rig truck parking area. Do be careful of poison oak where the signs are posted, along the hill above the upper paved walking path.

Average rest stop. Clean restrooms. Though when we stopped by, the «office» (maybe information center?) was closed. Very nice view of the Columbia River just across the highway though.
