Yes, it’s a DMV office– so it can’t be that great. But every time I’ve been there, the staff has been friendly and helpful. I’m sure if the state found out about this they’d all be sent to re-​education camps.

They’re kind people. But there’s a line, not the typical «take a number take a seat.» And they don’t do driver’s license anything, just registration. But they don’t tell you that until you stand in line for half an hour.

In and out with my new Texas drivers license in less than 30 minutes. That. Just. Happened. And the woman who helped me was super nice! I’m like in some alternative DMV universe or something! Make sure to do your research and bring all the proper documents to prove identification and residency beforehand.
