Cute, right in the middle of nowhere, a log cabin-like resort. They have accommodations for campers, RVs, and for us folks who choose to have neither, rooms. We found our room to be neat and clean, spacious with very comfy beds and a decent bathroom, and even a flat tv with cable channels and free wifi. No complaints. Not out of Hotel Beautiful, but still quite decent. And we were made to feel quite welcome. I guess this is a destination place, although I am not sure why. They are still about an hour and a half from the western entrance to Yellowstone. It has a distant view of the western side of the Grand Tetons(the backside), and there is really nothing to the little town of Tetonia that I could tell. Mostly abandoned, crumbling buildings. Only guessing, but maybe there are hiking and biking trails, fishing, and hunting nearby. On the property, they have picnic tables, horseshoe rings, large grassy areas, a jacuzzi, bbq, pool table, a laundry, and showers. Each morning they have coffee/tea, juice, a large choice of cereals, yogurt, bread and bagels for toasting, and fresh fruit. Tip: You can find really good eats at a sit down restaurant in the larger, more progressive yet quaint town of Driggs, about 7 miles south.

I have stayed here on and off thought the years and it’s always just been an ok Rv park. It’s continued to raise its prices but nothing else has improved. You have a few trees, dry grass weeds and a gravel yard. It’s kind of like camping. But with the prices that they charge I was surprised to see that they have a quarter machine that you have to feed like a car wash to take a shower… Really, in Idaho??? If someone ask me where to stay in this area I would probably tell them to stay on the Wyoming side. Sorry Tetonia and Victor Idaho.

This place is a little out of the way from Jackson, where all my shenanigans took place for the 3 days but well worth it! They are soooo friendly here. If I come back that way well stop here again. Would recommend.

There aren’t many RV parks open close to Grand Targhee ski resort. In fact, this was the only one we found. What a gem! Glad we stopped! As of December 2014 there are new owners. Very nice people and you can tell they want everyone’s experience to be a good one. Reasonable rates. Clean facilities. I highly recommend this place!

Open for business again reasonable room rates and a cozy place to base your adventure in the Tetons. The owners are supper friendly and welcoming to their rad little town of Tetonia. Half hour drive to Grand Targhee. Rooms all have dish tv and new linen. The motel is dated in its design and green carpet, but was not an issue for us as the rooms are immaculately clean warm and spacious. If you are looking to have a budget ski trip to Targhee or Jackson hole this is the spot.

As you will see, I am not, nor aspire to be a professional review artist. I have to write about places that I feel are a set apart from what a place should be and want others to hear about it. We had been driving all day, it was now 12:30 in the morning and were looking for a place, any place to bed down for the night. Used my gps to find a motel up the road a ways but as I was checking in, the clerk said«NOPETS»… What to do, we had our two dogs with us and they were not going to spend the night in the sub freezing outdoors. She told us about a place down the road about 8 miles that would accept pets. Off we went, and were almost expecting maybe we were being sent on a wild goose chase just to get us out of her office. The area was pretty dark, not much in the way of lights anywhere. Sure enough though, 8 miles and there was shangrala. Not a car in the lot, lights on, but nobody home(off season). Note on the door of the office gave us a number to call, so gave it a go, what else were we to do. Dialed, got an answer from the owner, she said she would be down in about 15 min. Sure enough she pulled in right on time. We were really happy as things were starting to come together. She was so nice and friendly made us feel really good and that we made the right choice. She gave us the room key, and said if we could get breakfast in the morning there, cereal, bagels, juice and coffee or go the local café(North Bar & Grill) across the street with a 10% discount. When we got to our room, a clean, big, comfortable room was waiting. Toasty warm, rustic pine furniture, the place was just perfect. The next morning both my son and I arose with a feeling of being well rested, in a very quiet and comfortable lodge. The grounds have lots to offer, heated Jacuzzi, open pit fireplace for a real gathering, nice big area off the road and safe. The area is well lighted at night, and makes you just want to stay. We decided this was to be our home base for the duration of our vacation. It is located close to the Tetons, Jackson Hole and the west side of Yellowstone. If you want quiet, a clean and well kept lodge, friendly staff, and room the be comfortable this is the spot. Oh yes, this morning greeted by fresh, hot, homemade cinnamon rolls, yummy! This place helped to make our stay a happy one as Yellowstone was closed… But that is another story.
