The chicken & dressing is a must get here! The owner is a hardworking, great guy! We wish him nothing but goodness & glory from GOD above! Food is always fresh and delicious. We love taking the road trip out to Terrell to eat here.

Today we tried a new place. We are in the middle of what looks like no where but this town somehow is booming. Cute place. Now on to pops– we were hesitant. Until we saw the parking lot. It’s was packed. You walk in and it’s cafeteria style on how you pick your meal. I went for the 3 piece chicken strips, 2 sides, and a roll. Great choice and a ton of food. They have a lot of veggie choices(16 according to their window sign). I chose the sweet potato casserole and corn. Both were amazing. Ok the corn tasted like buttery corn but it was what I was craving at the time. The sweet potatoes. It’s like you were sitting at grandmas house. So sweet and marshmallowy. Now to the best part– the chicken strips. Huge. I only ate 1 and nibbled on the second one. It was perfect consistency, crunchy and delish. I got the gravy to go with it and did add lots of salt and pepper but that was the only thing I had to do. Definitely not a let down. I was way to full for dessert but I heard the peach pie is worth a try!

We have lunch here pretty regular. I stopped in last evening after a long day driving from NE. Had a strip of catfish, a chicken breast, blackeyed beans, and peach cobbler. All really good. Peach cobbler a little short on peaches, but ok there. Otherwise really good cobbler. The catfish is nice portion size and the chicken breast same. I only short this place 1 star because they do not have icecream for the cobbler! Is a real good food stop, buffet style, old timey setting. Perfect and all for a fair price. Highly suggest anyone try this.

Pop’s Honey Fried Chicken is legit. They have great chicken, chicken-fried steak, catfish, meatloaf and many more main dishes. The side dishes are right on: greens, black eyed peas, mac and cheese, and so much more. Your choice of wheat rolls or cornbread. Cobbler and banana pudding for dessert. Full lunch for three people came to less than $ 20. The people there are very friendly. Highly recommended.

Usually we get great food at really cheap prices! However the last couple of times the chicken seemed really salty, maybe the cook had been brining it to long! And now the vegetables are unsalted and bland. We will go back but only because they have great prices and hope to get chicken again that’s not quite as salty!

Pop’s is one of those down home feel good places to eat. I’ve been coming here for YEARS! Food is delicious, prices cheap, & the employees friendly. They cater mainly to older people, but really everyone enjoys it. When we were there a small group of elderly people came in,(had a hard time getting around age) and even though this is cafeteria stlye one of the ladies helped wait on them at their table. Now this really goes up and above what they have to do, and I love that!!! Ok on to what we ate… I had meatloaf, green beans(out if the can, but good seasoning), and cranberry sauce with rolls. My husband had 2 fried catfish(they were making a fresh batch so we waited about 4 minutes) broccoli and cheese rice, and brussel sprouts with rolls. We also got a bowl of stew(SOGOOD!), 2 drinks(best sweet tea ever) and a buttermilk piece of pie all for $ 20.15!!! Wow sooo much food for such a good price!!! Everything was really good, which is no surprise since it always is. The fried chicken here is also the best I’ve ever had. This isn’t some fancy food, so if you are looking for that skip this place. But if you want some good southern comfort food, this is the place to go.

One of the best experiences! Still new to Terrell and after my experience with Pops makes me even more happier for living in this small town. Incredible customer service and some of the best food! I would highly recommend Pops if your craving some good ol’ fried chicken and classic sides with delicious cobbler!

Pop’s stays busy because they serve pretty decent food at low prices. I had the fried chicken breast dinner for $ 5. One big piece, two sides, and rolls. Lots of sides to choose from. The chicken was tasty and not too greasy. They also have catfish, CFS, and burgers.

We have been eating here since moving to the Terrell area about 10 years ago. The food is consistently good. The prices are very, very reasonable. I always get out of there for under $ 6. Highly recommended!

Chicken is okay but super greasy. Burgers are weird. Their sides are horrible. Most are mushy and bland.

Yes, it’s a drive. They have 15 meats and 17 vegetables. It’s cafeteria styled. I had the meatloaf which had a heavy flavor of green bell peppers. The macaroni and cheese was very cheddary, but not oily. The goulash was great, kinda on the spicy side but really hearty. The chicken and dressing was better than my grandmother makes, with lots of sage and really moist. Fried fish was so good they couldn’t keep the bin full. The potato salad was mustard, and you could taste the dry mustard in it and in the deviled-eggs. It’s not a real pretty establishment but according to my Dad, it’s always busy. And get the peach cobbler, there’s a peach orchard right outside downtown Terrell and the peaches come from there… yummy! When driving down the main strip in Terrell look for the big yellow sign on the right side right after downtown. If your in the area, it’s worth stopping! I can’t wait to try the other 13 meats and 12 sides!
