Boomerjack’s Grill and Bar

My review on this place is not about the food, but rather on my experience working here. When I first started working here I thought that everything was fine. A couple of weeks in the manager started making sexual advances on me. He would constantly ask me to go home with him and would also ask to take me out. I would always decline. He even went as far as showing me porn on his phone while we were working. After denying all his advancements he stopped speaking to me in friendly terms and would just shake his head yes or no to whatever I would ask him. I quit this job on Friday after I was told by him that I «better watch my mouth.» I honestly loved working here, but I could no longer work in such a degrading environment. I know that I alone am not the only one that he has talked to in an appropriate way.

I don’t understand the comments on here. I found the service great and the food is decent. My only complaint is that i was looking for a cocktail place and they didnt have bitters. Oh well, i would go there again.

Friendly staff, the loaded cheese fries were great (almost every table had them) and the wings were awesome. The wings were on the smaller side but that is how we like them… Nice and crispy and the sauces were delicious.

I moved to this area in 2009. I have tried to give Boomer Jacks a try about 3 or 4 times since then. Main reason I would go in is the happy hour prices. I got on Unilocal to look up bars in Greenville, TX, today. The results included Boomer Jacks. I clicked on it to see the reviews and compare other reviews to my experiences. The main reason I will not go back is because of the service. My 1^st experience, I sat at the bar. In most bars, if you sit at the bar, the bartender can see your drink & ask if you want another. The bartender was a female and it was me & two others at the bar (both male) so she was not slammed. What I noticed was she was very attentive to the men but somewhat rude to me. I felt like she was inconvenienced by taking my order & making my drink. Since my Dad owned a very successful bar in Deep Ellum back in the 80s & 90s I know what to do to piss off the bartender. I ordered a Jim Beam with a slash of H2O. It was not like she had to pull out the blender or anything. Had she been better trained she would known a call drink is a money maker. What she didn’t know is I tip more than 20% & in cash. I had 2 drinks then left. The second & third times mirrored the first… what I noticed, was the entire service staff took good care of the men but the women got the cold shoulder.
So, my 4^th attempt, I did a little experiment. I had my husband & my brother come in but instead of sitting w/​me, I told them to get a booth. I went in 1^st, and I sat at the bar. My husband and my brother came in a good 10 minutes later. When I sat down the bartender did not acknowledge me until I ask for a menu. She gave me a menu but did not ask if I wanted a cocktail. I then ask her about happy hour. She told me then ask, FINALLY, what I wanted to drink and I ordered a Jim Beam & water. She entered the drink into the computer. As she was doing that my brother & my husband entered. They sat down in a booth. Since it was early the bartender was covering some tables (3) I think that. Before she made my drink, she was around the bar and asking my people what they wanted to drink. I got my stuff together, went to the table, & told my Husband & brother not to order, I wanted to go to AppleBee’s where the drinks are more expensive & the customer service was better. We all walked out. The bartender looked like she was a bit confused as to what just happened. That was in 2013. I will not set foot in there ever again.
The one star is for their consistency of having terrible service for women.
NOTE TO OWNER: If you do not have women in your bar, the men will not stay there.

The food isn’t terrible, but the manager is rude to his staff and not much better with the customers. Menu substitutions are highly frowned upon, if not downright denied with an excuse of «company policy.» I’ve been to other Boomer locations and much prefer them to this one.

My husband and I stopped her for lunch today. As we sat at a table in front of the counter waiting for someone to take our order, we watched a waitress behind the counter eat a french fry off a platter, lick her finger then pick up that platter and another one and head out to a table. I looked at hubby and said «did you see that?» He said «yep we are out of here.» About that time same waitress came to take our order. We said «No thanks. We are leaving.» And we did. Will NOT be back!

Nice idea too bad they can’t pull it off. Poor service, run of the mill food.

Just love this place. The food is a little high. But it’s good so that’s ok. They have a decent variety of alcohol to choose from. We eat and drink here often.

Enjoyable place very good forTerrell

Been in Terrell a few times but never stopped here. I checked ii out since others from work came here. Service was good but food was pretty plain and greasy. So nothing to jump for joy about.

We all love this place!!! We like the fact that we’re able to have a beer or two with some wings and watch season sports!
Today, we had a bad experience with a waitress Elida. Terrible service! We waited for over 15 min for another beer, we ordered desert NEVER came. This waitress needs more energy!
This star is just because our waitress poor service. Food and beer plus tv’s with season sport games 4 stars!

Although our server was very sweet and nice, we will not be coming back here again. They might as well have just served us bones. The wings had no meat and were tiny! To add on to a terrible dinner experience, they do not honor promotions that they post on their own website! If you are going to have a promotion, put it in the system and make sure your customers are going to get that special deal. We nibbled on some bones and paid for our dinner without mentioning the promotion they posted online. We shouldn’t have to call the server to ask about the mistake on our check. Instead, we will dine elsewhere where the system is correct and business is honest.

We came here with another family. Overall, we were not impressed. Pretzel turkey sandwich was good but did not look like photo. It was very skinny with MINIMAL turkey. Fries were good though. Hubby said burger was average. Fried pickles were good. Our friends got 2 orders of wings & were not impressed. We were told ONE ranch/​dip came with each of the wings and ONE with the fried pickles. So, that was all we got. However, we had .69 added to our ticket for the ONE «included» dip and our friends had (2) .69 added to their ticket. Our waitress did correct it on both of our tickets.
