Think of this as a place to visit and see the items on display that other reviewers have mentioned. Laura N. review nailed it — kiddie friendly and funky. It does have the added coolness that they host«on-the-grass» concerts on Friday nights with only a $ 10 cover charge. Bring your own chairs. Local bands/groups perform. Wine? Go somewhere else.

What can we say about Pomar Junction… They have great wine specials. We liked multiple wines that were tasting awesome and the wines are greatly improved from a few years ago. The two gals working today made our experience one of the most memorable places in paso! We will definitely return soon. You must stop here and taste for yourself!

One of my favorite wineries on the central coast, very kid friendly like others post. Great place for a picnic on the grass, while you sip on my favorite white sweet wine«picnic». We took pictures here and have had a great time every time we have come here ! We always leave with a couple of bottles ! I will miss this place !

We had our wedding here. We loved it. It is a beautiful setting with picturesque views in every direction of rolling Vinyards. The staff was very kind and helpful, going above and beyond to make our night very special. It was a magical day and evening and could not have been duplicated in any other place. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity to marry at Pomar Junction.

I have to agree with the kid-toting Unilocaling masses — if you’re looking for a winery where you can bring the kiddos without judgement, this is the place. In the most romantic, Pinterest-able way possible, this is like drinking booze behind your great uncle Ernie’s barn. There are trains, tractors, old dilapidated pick ups, weather-worn barns and old street signs. Sit at the small group of outdoor picnic tables that sit beneath beautiful shade-providing trees, or live the high life and sit on a raise outdoor patio overlooking the valley and vineyards. It was midrange wine with both midrange prices and tasting fees, but there was one Pinot that was an absolute stand out(although I believe he told me the grapes were out of Santa Barbara?). The 2014 Cotes De Pomar Blanc was the bottle I couldn’t leave behind. Such a surprisingly delicious and spicy white.

Great selection of wines. Many award winning wines, and I can totally see why. We also got a winery tour from the wine maker himself and that was a lot of fun. A great spot for a picnic — and arguably the most kid friendly winery due to the«train» theme.

We spent an amazing afternoon here. The leaves tipped gold in the sunlight, as we picnicked with another couple, the children playing with the train set we brought along or on the red caboose. Great wines, and very relaxing atmosphere.

Thanks for having the St Jude fund raiser ride hosted at Pomar Junction! It was a beautiful day and ride! Your hospitality and willingness to allow riders in your vineyard is most awesome! Your wines are great and the area is beautiful! We locals can’t thank you enough!

We stopped here as travel zoo said they had trains and wine(great combo!!). Our toddler had a blast exploring the tractor and real train and tracks while mom enjoyed the wine. The staff was great about explaining the wines and the history behind the trains. A bit pricey but appreciate that they waive the tasting if you buy a bottle.

This is a top notch winery. The wines are incredible, the service is excellent and they have a winery cat(Sassy) to boot. We came right when they opened before a huge event they were having but they treated us like we were their only concern. Told us to make sure and look around the winery and enjoy ourselves. Couldn’t have asked for a better day, wine or service. We will be back!

I’m not sure I’ve ever given a winery less than 4-stars, but Pomar was a really great experience that merits all 5. We were greeted with friendly, warm, bubbly service. She invited us to walk around the grounds, and she’d bring the tasting to us. She was so energetic and passionate, it was easy to get involved in her excitement. The wines here are nicely crafted. The tasting room is well decorated and has a real charm. There are train cars outside amongst the vineyards(great photo op), and lovely seating areas to languish over the wine. Check out Sassafras, the resident kitty who apparently is a legendary photo-bomber and chill feline.

Great atmosphere and scenery but didn’t like the wines too much. I would past on the place next time out.

This winery was very down to earth. When I say that I mean laid back and not at all pretentious, like what you’d find in some Napa Valley tastings rooms. Becky, our wine guide, was knowledgeable and awesome. She gave us several maps of Paso Robles and gave us several recommendations of places to visit, based on our taste preferences. Of their wines, the Viognier, Zin, and Cab Sauv where all great. Most of the wines were estate grown and all award-winners. The wines I enjoyed the most was a red blend called the 2010 Train Wreck and a late harvest Viognier called Amber Moonlight. they also had another late-harvest Viognier that was beyond amazing. This winery is also apart of the Rhone Rangers which is an organization dedicated to promoting and educating Rhone varietals to the public. Next time I come back to the Paso area, I’m definitely going to be back here.

Neat atmosphere including a train car to look inside, friendly staff, drinkable wines. We visited with free tasting passes, all the wines were decent, but didn’t fall in love with any of them.

Bucolic wine country… perfect rustic setting, rolling hills, vines and a lovely staff. The tasting fee is $ 5 and you get a variety. All the reds are a hit in my opinion. The rose had a nice strawberry finish and the merlot really took me surprise. I’m usually not a merlot fan(who really admits to being one anyway) but this one had a subtlety in flavor that was light and very drinkable. We left with a bottle of that, and the Fighting Red — a perfect picnic wine. I’d go back just for the photo options and eclectic antique-like shop in the adjacent garage. It’s just plain old cute! I could sit out there all day and wax poetic about the atchison topeka and santa fe railroad line memorabilia that is laid about the property. It’s almost like a movie set.

This is by far one of my favorite vineyards and tasting rooms in the county. It’s out a ways from Templeton, But worth the beautiful drive. The wine is very decent in price, The staff is super helpful and the tasting fee is very cheap. The vineyard’s theme is Railroad cars and tracks, which makes it a fun environment. In the summer they have concerts and events called train wreak Fridays. Their dessert wine(when they have it) is to die for.

Very popular place. They had a Cab that was decent but nothing else jumped out at me. I’d skip it next time I’m in the area. Edit — As the owner pointed out, the grounds are indeed beautiful. I should qualify that when I visit a winery, I’m there to sample and purchase more than enjoying the scenery. My review was 2 stars which Unilocal defines as «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» and I’ll change it to 3 to be fair and add a star for the staff and the grounds, but honestly I did feel that I found other wineries in Paso to be a better fit for my tastes. At the end of the day, everyone’s palette is different and my reviews for wineries are based on my opinion of the wine itself more than anything else, and overall the Cab was decent and I bought it.

This came highly recommend to us and was our last stop on a two day marathon of Paso wines. I confess we were wined out by now but we gave it a shot anyhow. It is the most eclectic winery we visited, I was not sure if it was a winery or a charity store at first. However, we settled in to tasting and I would say this was the best overall wine s we had in the two days. This isn’t to say there were no better wines but they had a good few that were more than drinkable so good was the rule not the exception. The reason I didn’t go 5stars was we bout some Cab estate and they must have gone off the tasting menu to a reserve. The wine was good but I had a little sticker shock when what I bought was almost double what I thought I was buying. oh well, we will save it for a special occasion.

This was where we stopped for lunch during our Paso Robles Wine Tour on the Wine Wrangler. This was our favorite stop! The grounds are gorgeous, as they are on a former railroad stop, complete with historical train cars. Loved having lunch outside with a view of the vineyards! The hospitality inside was also good — the Espiritu Chardonnay was our favorite and if you purchase a bottle, 5 tastings are free. I think we can handle that! We also enjoyed the Pomar Junction Estate ’09 Viognier, ’09 Pinot Noir and an ’09 Syrah. All were smooth and of course left different flavors on the palette. They do ship and have a good website as well. Love PJ!
