I have only visited a couple of times, but have to say the chicken and waffles are delicious! I wish I had a high metabolism, because I would have that meal more often. I recommend this place, especially for carry-out.

Really good local eats, the portions are plentiful and flavorful good. I went on a Saturday mid morning, it was a bit crowded and orders were being taken quickly, however next time I will call my order in a head of time. The seating area fills up depending on what time you go. Otherwise good service, decent atmosphere and good southern local eats with great prices!

This was my spot until they changed the syrup for some reason the waffles aren’t as crispy as they use to be… But it use to be 5 stars

My husband and I went here for lunch today. I ordered the tender/waffle combo: 5 tenders and a waffle while my husband had a biscuit/chicken combo. We also had a side of mac and cheese. You know your food is going to be good when while waiting for it to come out you keep saying«it smells so good in here!» My food did not disappoint. My husband also enjoyed his(plus the food he stole from me). The only thing I didn’t like was the mac and cheese. It tasted plain and just wasn’t my style. Won’t keep me from coming back though! As others have mentioned, I’d recommend taking your food to go. Also, the guy taking the orders was super nice!

Good food and food customers service. Food came out in decent amount of time. The floors were sticky and need mopping. Tasty chicken and waffle. Best in the area

Great for calling in on a late night. Waffles are delicious! Definitely not a dine in place though.

Around 9 am visit on a Sunday. Approx 6 people waiting for orders. Placed the order and that went pretty easy and sat down and waited. We waited about 15 minutes for order to come out. I ordered the chicken wings and waffle. Waffle was cold and hard and it actually made me wonder if the waffles were cooked previously and froze and there was no attempt to reheat? Whatever the case, the rest of my food was warm? The wings we’re seasoned good but you could tell they were cooked in old grease. My friend ordered a Western omelet, hash browns and toast and said his was good except the toast was cold. You get a good amount of food, prices are good, service was pretty slow for the amount of people but we we were in no rush. Will give it another try and see how the next visit goes.

This review is after two visits. Both of which were for dinner. First, the menu is loaded. There is seating for dining in although most seem to treat it like a carryout. That’s what I’ve done. I may end up changing my review once I have an opportunity to have breakfast here as the breakfast menu looks to be loaded with delicious treats. So I decided on the two piece whiting with a side of greene I thought I was supposed to get a biscuit I didn’t get that. But maybe I read the menu wrong. The batter they use on the fish is the same batter they use on the chicken and it worked well for the chicken I particularly didn’t like it on the fish but the fish was very meaty and slightly overcooked. The greens are cooked with Turkey which is great however black seasoning and it up a little bit of salt vinegar and hot sauce on it but maybe that’s my preference. They were cooked well. The mac and cheese is awful. Not sure why they buy a box mac and cheese and boil it and add the powder. Make some real mac and cheese or have somebody like myself make mac and cheese and bring it in daily. I will never recommend or by the mac and cheese again and that’s the main reason why its three stars enough for stars. Also got the chicken and waffles 3 piece 2 piece dark one piece white chicken is probably much better prepared fresh however since it sitting up there ready for you although crispy skin and good flavor my breast with slightly dry. But my son seemed to enjoy his dark meat. Which was still moist. If I only came here and got the waffle this would be 5 stars hands down. Possibly one of the best waffles I’ve had all year. I will be back for breakfast and I’ll probably get a waffle and an omelette and possibly some grits so that I can give a review from a country style breakfast. It is a much better option than any of the fast food breakfast is around I’m sure.

This place is excellent. I want to give it 5 stars, but only cause of the fact they dont have A/C inside and it’s in the middle of summer, I think Thats sad. All the money there making they should have A/C for the paying customers and the staff. As far as the restaurant itself, it’s Great. The customer service is nice, the food is always piping hot and fresh, plus you get a lot of GOOD food for a reasonable low price. I like to dine in sometimes. My favorite is the chicken wings and waffle of course, and there banana pudding is to die for! It’s a must buy if u like banana pudding.

I finally tried this place after hearing nothing but good things about it. The place was clean, my food was ready fast and the staff was friendly. Now, when it comes to the food it was just OK to me. After hearing so many good things about the food I expected for it to taste like God personally cooked it. They do get extra kudos for giving me an extra chicken wing.

Went this morning and ordered the lumberjack platter with pancakes, French toast, eggs, grits and double bacon(u get 2 meats and 2 «breads»). Also got a 3 piece waffle combo, a 6 wing waffle combo and a side of home fries. The overall consensus… Stick to chicken and waffles. That’s the namesake of this restaurant and it’s clear to me that’s what they do best. The chicken was crispy and had great flavor without additional sauce, however, they do offer a spicy Mumbo sauce and Texas Pete. Oddly though, the thigh was over cooked while the breast, wings and even the drumstick were moist. I can’t explain that. The waffles were not crispy but they were flavorful and melted in my mouth. The French toast(not pictured) smelled amazing and tasted even better… Some of the best I’ve ever had. My husband said the pancakes were good but I did not try them. Now for the bad: the home fries looked like they had nothing but paprika on them and they had absolutely no flavor. I took one bite and threw the container away. They were BAD. The bacon was also lacking flavor as were the eggs and grits. Nothing outside of the chicken, waffles and French toast seemed to have any seasoning. With that being said, they do well what they’re supposed to do well and the chicken and waffles are good enough to carry them through. The rest of the offerings we tried seemed like an afterthought. But that won’t stop us from coming back.

Hungry and wanted breakfast. Wanted something a little different. Unilocal helped me decide on Chicken and Waffles in the neighborhood! Food was great! Customer Service could have been improved. Front end folks were having private conversations while taking orders. By all means, I’m okay with conversing with your co-workers but not during the order taking process! Would patronize again since the food was so good and reasonably priced. Won’t continue to patronize if the Customer Service doesn’t improve! *Update* Tried it again. Much better Customer Service! Food still off the chain! This just may be my new breakfast spot!!!

I never got into the whole chicken and waffles phenomenon. Never visited Gladys Knights when it was in business here. I’ve tried IHOPs version, decent, but I wasn’t wow-ed. Unilocal reviews led me to this place. I was still skeptical, as I don’t care for everyone’s fried chicken or waffles. Chicken– flavored well, great crispy skin, not thick or overly breaded Waffles– large waffle(similar to waffle house), great taste, not bland, great alone or with syrup, fluffy, belgian waffle Collard greens– great flavor, well seasoned from meat, yes meat is in the collards Oreo mousse cake– sliced small, but decent portion, 70% mousse, 30% chocolate cake, yum! Watermelon– nice option to have available(i don’t like to see white rind of watermelon on my cut up pieces. quite a few pieces were like that.) Everything was delicious and I am a big fan… open late, reasonably priced, breakfast served all day, private parking lot, halal cooking, great Unilocal reviews, they carry honey bun rum cake products(support of a local vendor). I was sure that this southern, country style cooking consisted of stolen recipes from someone’s grandmother’s kitchen(not black owned)… until i tasted the mac n cheese. I don’t believe this was a bad batch. It was watery, thin melted cheese and noodles. KFC’s cheese is thicker than this. It was too good to be true to expect some authentic mac n cheese… I’ll excuse the mac n cheese… hey, they aren’t related to my grandmother. and still give this place an overall 5 stars for changing my mind about chix and waffles and giving me another solid food option! Dine in option available…

So often the chicken is better than the waffle but not in this case. I’m not saying that the chicken was bad but the waffle was on another level! It was soft, sweet and cooked oh so perfect! The chicken was good, it is fried a little different than I am used to but it all goes together so well. I would gladly go back even at the cost of my clothes smelling like fried food! lol

Roscoe’s who? Roscoe’s what?!! Listen. This is the place for some down right country chicken waffles! I mean the name says it all! The digs: waffle– hott, fluffy, sweet dough of goodness with each bite. The chicken– I promise you the cook name must be Leroy, Henry, Miss Shirley or Bertha! Seasoning was perfect and crisp was just right! I should have known I was in the right place when I saw mini cups of collards in the window! Not only was the food good, the service was quick and the workers so polite. This place is a hit! Tell em I sent ya! Ok. Don’t tell em. they won’t remember me. But go anway! Stop reading this and pull up already!!!

The place must be called country style chicken and waffles for a reason, so I played it safe and ordered just that. I must say this place did not dissapoint. The waffle was so soft and buttery that I kind of wished I had ordered 2, after devouring the first one so quickly. Now the chicken wasn’t bad, but it’s also wasn’t the best I’ve had either. The batter is seasoned well but the chicken it self had a lack luster flavoring. Overall this place deserves a solid 4 stars. Like other Unilocalers stated the outside looks a little sketch(and a few of the people hanging around it), but the inside was clean. Contrary to other reviews I recieved quick, courteous, customer service with a smile from the gentleman behind the counter with the nice eyes ;-) Definitely worth stopping in if you’re near by. Lets be honest there doesn’t seem to be too much of a great selection if your near this area if you don’t want typical fast food.

Stopped by while at work. Was in and out within 8 minutes. Ordered just enough to review and form my opinion. My order was 8 wings and a waffle. Mind you, that I ate at the ” Waffle House«the night before. So I’m comparing the two. Would have to say if I was in the area, I would go again. My only complaint is the hot sauce. For me Asian hot sauce on wings don’t cut it. I need some Crystal or Aunt Sylvia’s. Price was good. Waffle was soft n delicious. Extra butter warm syrup, Mmmmm. Service was was enjoyable; better than most well known fast food restaurants. MC D’s n BK and such.

This was my first time trying chicken and waffles and I feel I jaded any other C&W experience. It was sensational. The waffle was perfectly cooked, soft and fluffy. The chicken was crisp, moist and just the right about of spice! I couldn’t put my fork down! My boyfriend had a huge breakfast platter(eggs, pancakes, sausage and home fries) for $ 7 bucks! Service was quick considering the 10 people ahead of us. You can understand the wait considering the quality of the food and everything being made fresh. Super competitive prices and huge portions! Will go back the next time I’m in the area!
