Excellent food and service, our server was extremely friendly and attentive. First time eating frog, it was good, but a bit too boney. But that’s how frogs are, I guess. Lol

Servers’ attitude was better than top island but we ordered salmon head and was oily and were enough bacterias in those 4 – 5 small pieces I ate to make me sick 1 hour after I ate. My other friends who were persuaded to order fish from tanks in other restaurant had worse experience before. She’d to locate a rest room on her freeway back to Irvine. Whenever I ordered seafood, I aught to pay attention but I forgot last night. The other enter was that $ 9.99 white fish cooked with onion and green pepper. I thought the cause wasn’t from that entire because those fish fillets were lightly fried then stirred fried, not that oily. If I ever visited it again, might have to order steamed stuff.

Everything was INSANELYSALTY. Many dishes are outrageously expensive — $ 18 shrimp porridge?! Are these shrimps made of gold and caviar or something I don’t know about? There are many moderately priced dishes but I felt we were paying for salt licks. PASS.

Service is absolutely horrible. Over 30 minutes waiting for just the first dish to arrive.

This is for their dim sum only. Dim sum is made to order, taste is so-so.also took a while for food to come out. 3 stars. Service is about average. 3 stars. Damn table legs. Easy to catch your feet on it and trip. 0 star. Overall an average place, but ok if you come late or hate to fight the crowd.

We love this place, having gone there several times in the past 2 weeks! We have tried several dishes and they were all good. So we keep going back! Good dim sum. Chicken legs were not so great though. The service is good too. Clean place, no waiting in lines and ample parking in the back.

Finally a great, authentic dim sum restaurant! The gold standards of dim sum are excellent: ha gau(steamed shrimp dumplings, M/$ 3.38), siu mai(M/$ 3.38), beef balls(S/$ 2.38), sticky rice wraps with chicken + abalone(M/$ 3.38). However the chef’s special of pan fried turnip cake with XO sauce was not so great($ 6.38). *TIP: When ordering, go off the #s on the menu, not the pics(pic #s do not match the item!) This was the old Green Island seafood restaurant. Now offers dim sum and still retained their same lunch and dinner menu. Decent prices for dim sum, ample seating and seating.

Its Green Island Restaurant, just changed their name. Weird service, great at times until the lady rudely tossed our party’s bday cake onto the table still boxed!!! Same canto food as Green Island Restaurant. Decent. Great place for big parties and looking to eat around the area without waiting. We came on a Saturday night and there was only 3 tables taken including ours. Comparing to food around the sgv area, I can see why this place has a difficult time competing. However food is decent, service is very odd. They try to give good service, then they’re very rude in other ways. Don’t want to bag on China ladies, but I assume the lady with heavy mainland accent probably came a from rural area? Just giving her benefit of the doubt because the food is okay, but her rudeness was shocking. Surprised she wasn’t fired.

Same owner as Green Island but different name because Dim Sum was added in the morning. The food quality is the same as before and they still have their daily specials. They also have a spending limit where if you spend past I believe $ 30 you get a chicken dish for free. It’s well worth it because their boiled chicken is scrumptious. Tastes just like the chicken my mom makes. This is a definetly a great place to take Asian parents especially when you mention the word free.

Used to frequent when it was green island. Finally tried dim sum at this place. Disappointing taste — beef rice noodle, I like mine with ground beef not chunky beef, shrimp dumpling that doesn’t hold its form, bland flavors on most selection. Price considered high for their offering. Ok for high price but please don’t mess up dim sum taste. Next time I’ll stick to the regular menu and go to ‘crowded’ places for dim sum.

So if you are like me and have been eating Americanized Chinese food, this will be a pleasant transition for you. We really were looking for a place that was authentic. This was my first experience eating Salmon Fish Head. Let me tell you, I did not eat the eyeballs. However, the rest of the head was really delicious. The clams in basil leaves/sauce was also very good. We both thought that the ginger could have been cooked a bit more. Again, this was my first time here and I will be honest with you I really enjoyed it here. The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful. There is two hours parking in the back. The staff is friendly and there are televisions at a few tables. On a personal note, I felt that this was a great diversion from food that has been Americanized and has moved away from culture. This was truly a great experience and I will be coming back. Thank you again!

This place is under appreciated! Service: 4 stars, the manager(5 stars) was very attentive and the server was ok(3.5 star). She only speaks mandarin which I think is a problem since this restaurant is HK style. Food: stir fried baby back choy was yummy!(5 stars) other dishes were decent, except the fried flounder, very fishy. Ordered a couple of dim sum — sesame ball and egg tarts, 5 stars. Ambiance: 4 stars, clean(in comparison to other Chinese restaurants) bright and new. I will definitely go back again!

I visited green island(years ago), it was ok. Never came back until recently went back and found out this place is so much better, I mean dishes are more HK style with reasonable price. Inside décor is neat and clean. I went back twice in last week and plan to bring parents to try out this restaurant next week.

Pan fried tofu with black pork belly-average. Tender tofu and mild sauce. Little pork. Preserved meat in rice pot-bad. The rice is too dry. Little preserved meat. Lobster porridge in pot-good. Mild taste. Good amount of fresh lobster. Scallop with shrimp in garlic sauce-above average. Tender and juicy scallops. BBQ pork in honey-above average. Tasty but significant portion of fat in the pork. Beef stew with daikon hot pot-average. The beef could have been more tender. Little daikon. Hard cabbage. House special crispy squid-good. Well balanced flavor and texture. House special prime ribs in curry sauce-below average. Bad quality of yellow curry. Tender beef. Hard broccoli. Pan fried sea bass with eggplant-good. Tasty but very oily. Tender fish fillet and eggplant. The garlics add more flavor to the dish. India flying cake-average. Thin and chewy. More flavorful with curry sauce. Chicken in broth(add $ 1)-bad. Strong taste of Chinese herbs. Average quality of chicken. Hard cabbage.

This place used to be Green Island and you can tell because the waiters’ apron still has the previous establishment’s logo on it. All in all, food was better than most dim sum places. Fresh food, good service and hardly any wait! The siu mai was the biggest siu mai I’ve seen and it was really delicious as well as the har gao. Parking in rear was plenty and prices are comparable. We had 6 dishes and bill came to be around $ 24. I like how there’s a TV screen playing next to the table booths, but they only play tvb :(restrooms were small(2 stalls) but relatively clean, and could use some renovation to match interior of restaurant. I’d definitely come back for more har gao and siu mai!
