Came here on Valentine’s day lol. My friend ordered the extra spicy squid bimbimbap and the server was like«are you sure?, so far nobody finished it «well». «So, my friend is up for the challenge! I got a bite of the the bimbimbap and you can feel the chili through your nose and it tastes like Samyang extremely spicy ramen. DANGSPICY! Thanks to server, he checked on my friend and make sure we have enough water and napkins throughout the spicy food«challenge». We also tried the bulgogi fried rice, kimchi fried rice and toppoki. Kfood around the hood! NYAM!

Me and my friends stopped by this place for dinner during Valentines Day to eat some korean food! The place good, feels home with a korean pop song playing on the background. Employees are attentive and nice! I ordered Bulgogi Ramyun, and my friends ordered them Korean Spicy Ramyun for us. The servings for one order is good for 2 people, at least for me. The noodles were served from a medium pot and very hot, which is good! Forgot to mention, the taste are GREAT! Our tastebuds cant get enough of their noodles, so good! Cant wait to visit the place again and chow down more ramyun ;)

Place opened for quite some time and I kept avoiding it thinking that it was a generic Korean fast food joint. Boy, I was wrong! When I walked in, I thought, hey hey… someone finally brought little K-town to San Gabriel. Generous portions and prices. I grew up eating this from my moms cooking so the flavors brought back some nostalgic feelings… Meaning, it’s pretty spot on. Items on the menu are not crazy out of ordinary(besides the cheese rice cake… Err??) but it’s good enough for those who are just craving some quick Korean food with their friends. And speaking of friends, though family friendly environment, they play loud K-pop music and video in the background so this place caters more to kids as opposed to adults, like K-town minus the soju and dim lighting, which I won’t be surprised they plan on doing when business is good. If you’re looking for some good homemade Korean food without the crazy BBQ prices and line, then I definitely recommend this place. Good with family during the day and great with friends at night. Now only if they offered soju… then I’ll give it a solid 5. Flavor — 3 Décor — 4 Service — 5

Food is great! I like their Bibimbap and Seafood pancake. The sides are great too! Bibimbap has lots of veggies and surely have good flavor. Seafood pancakes also have good flavor. Kimchi Fried Rice tastes good but could add a bit more flavor. Maybe a bit of soy sauce? The waitress was very nice. Only problem there is parking!!! I think they are losing business because of the terrible parking situation there.

It’s a really cute place. But the food I ordered was just not that good. Rice cake and kimchi pancake are good. But the noodle tasted so strange.

Hip place for youngsters to have some Korean food and listen to kpop as they eat. Food is pretty good. Generous portion of rolls/kimbap. Their tofu soup is flavored well too. My friend and I got one combo together and we couldn’t finish everything. –1 star for the higher prices but not bad considering we couldn’t finish.

So I grew up in the 626 and there were never really any authentic Korea restaurants besides Ayce kbbq or Tofu house. To me it’s a really smart idea to open something like this in the SGV area. :) So I have been eyeing this place for a really long time and I’ve heard good things about it. Since I was in the area today, why not give it a try. It is located right next to basket robins on Rosemead and Las Tunas. Kind of hidden but you’ll be able to find it. The decoration of the restaurant is very simple, cozy, clean and animated. It reminds you of the restaurants you’ve seen in Korean drama lol. It’s not a big space but The way they set the tables are perfect. We were able to be seated right away, not big of a menu but it has mostly everything, from appetizer, rice bowl, fried rice, fried fish and Korean ramen ect. Prices are pretty decent, portions are big enough for 2 – 3 people of you’re sharing everything. We ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice, glass noodle, potato pancakes and bulgolgi Kimbap. Kimchi fried rice– very flavored and tasty with small bits of kimchi. It has a sunny side up egg on top sprinkled with shredded seaweed. Probably one of my favorite dishes Glass noodle– perfectly cooked and not too greasy, not too hard to chew, it has beef, assorted shredded vegetablesa nd eggs. potato pancakes– never had potato pancakes before and it sounded really good. It tasted like the kimchi pancake without the kimchi, couldn’t taste the potato. but it was a little soggy and I wished it was more crispier. Bugolgi Kimbap– Favorite part of our dinner, its Korean style sushi, with meat, rice and vegetables rolled up with seaweed. Service was great and quick. servers were nice, friendly and quick with our orders. very satisfied with our dinner here

I came here and had a decent experience. I ordered Glass noodles and they were fine and a really decent portion. However, after my meal, my friends and I left but I accidentally left my portable charger in the restaurant. I called and luckily they said they had the portable charger with the iPhone cable that was in the charger’s cover. Great! I went there and a woman gave me the portable charger, but the cable was not there, even though the man on the phone had mentioned it was there. I asked her about it and she went to the back kitchen to ask. She said that there is no cable. So I do not know where the dishonesty lies, but That was very misleading. To say that i would be picking up a cable and a portable charger, and only have ½ items back. And weird enough, when I went to pick up the portable charger at their front desk, I saw a cable plugged into their outlet’s extension cord that looks practically similar to mine, discolored with charcoal, red pen and pencil marks from being placed amongst my art supplies. Thats what I get for misplacing my things Otherwise, the place is cool for Kpop lovers. The workers did mention feeling understaffed this one night. Its a place that seems like it has some work cut out for it.

I like coming here whenever I’m craving some kimchi fried rice. I love that the portions are huge and that sides are provided. The kimchi fried rice is a bit on the spicier side but still tastes ok. I’m definitely not huge on the projected Korean music videos on the wall as it is very disturbing and takes away from having a decent conversation while enjoying food. Otherwise, I would rate this 5 stars.

The place is very open and clean, making it appealing to the eye; décor is simple and almost cozy! Servers are quick, attentive, always checking in on our table, and have suggestions to offer if you’re stuck between what to order. I ordered the jajangmyun which was very good! It wasn’t too salty and the noodles were nice and chewy. I ordered the kimchi fried rice and bulgogi kimbap to go and the portions are huge! The rice was a tad bland and on the oily side but the kimbap was full of ingredients and in perfect bite sizes! It was nice to find a Korean restaurant that serves snack type food! It was my first time here but will visit again! I want to try so much on the menu!

+ Bibim Naengmyeon + Bulgogi Kimbap + Ramen Carbonara + Kimchi Pancake +/-Kimchi Fried Rice +/-Jjajangmyeon I love love love this place, as indicated by the sheer amount of items I’ve tried on the menu. I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait for seating, which is surprising because I’d think this place would be packed all the time. They have a projector playing all the latest kpop songs and music videos. Sensory overload sometimes. Super distracting. Great for avoiding long, awkward silences. What am I even saying right now? Lols. And a big win for me is the fact that my dad really enjoys this place! :)

Disclaimer, I am a lover for all things cheese. The cheese dokboki(topokki) was so delicious that my friends started making fun of me for drinking the sauce like soup. The texture of the rice cakes were perfect and the dish altogether hit the spot especially on a cold night! I’ve never really had cheese on my dokboki before so big thumbs up. The bulgogi beef roll and the sides were pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary with those. My friend and I ended up sharing both the cheese dokboki and the bulgogi beef roll and were pretty full afterwards. You also can’t beat the price, for a legitimate Korean cuisine restaurant! We went on a Friday night and were quite surprised to see there wasn’t many people in the restaurant despite its adorable and inviting atmosphere but hey, that means fast service and no wait.

Yesterday, I visited Big Rice, after it has been bookmarked in my Unilocal for some time now. The only time I eat this type of food is during ACYE Korean Bbq. Pricing: reasonable for lunch combos. Under $ 13 for two or three items from open till 3pm. Environment: k-pop music was very interesting as it projects off a wall. One wall was painted with grains of rice. The other wall was filled with picture frames of food(I thought it was a meal platter at first), receipts of drawing, and some signs. Servers: consistent on asking how everything thing. Food: delicious! I ordered a combo with rice cake, Korean roll, and noodle soup(rayum). I think that is how you spell it. my friend ordered a Kimchi fried rice that came with a egg on top. We shared our food, and had a good amount for another meal saved for the next day. The Korean roll was actually good here versus some other places. Not too dry or overdone on the portions. The sauce provided made it even better. Maybe I have tried other places, but I’m always willing to explore.

I stumbled upon this place while waiting to have my auto serviced @ A1 on Las Tunas. I was looking for something relatively fast and unique. Didn’t have time for guppy house and didn’t feel like a chain. One quick search and this place was the highest rated on Unilocal(within the plaza). Food: ordered the spicy seafood jangjong(forgot the name) noodle soup combo w/tuna roll. It was ok, nothing too crazy and it was horrible either cuz I ate it all. Average but yummy. The roll was whatever, I was expecting raw tuna no tuna salad. That was a let down. It was a very filling order not bad. I felt like there was not much seafood in my order. Service: not bad. Would I come back again? If I wanted something like Korean fast dining. Ambience: not a fan of k-pop but I’ll take that over sub par edm I suppose. They play kpop and their funny music videos and it got me thinking«oh so this is what the new hypebeast looks like? No wonder. And by hypebeast I mean fuccboi» I give 3 stars because 4 means outstanding taste and 5 means insane experience. Anything below 3 means there be some serious issues. Keep it up Pop Rice. How about Trap Rice? Or Psy Rice. I know. KrunkRice!. Pricing was fair for the portion. Fun place for friends and hang out if you can’t party. NOWIFI.

First time dine in with a friend of mine. We ordered bibimbab and the flying fish rolls. I also wanted to order the noodle soup but didn’t know which one to get and plus we were too full. Other tables close to us have ordered soups and they looked so delicious. I’ll definitely be back soon to try them! Even though it’s just a small restaurant, the interior was very nice and clean(including the bathroom). The food was above average, the portion was good, price was reasonable and service was great. Our waiter was so friendly and cute! I was trying to find out if the staffs were Korean but wasn’t able to figure it out because their English was perfect(lol).

Finally! A Korean restaurant in the SGV and it’s authentic! This place reminded me of those mom & pop restaurants I went to in Seoul(South Korea) last year. If you love those Korean sides that come with AYCEKBBQ, don’t worry, they got that here! I don’t have to pay $ 20 bucks to eat just sides anymore. Plus it’s free refill on them sides: p(**Note: you can also take some extra sides home) As for the food, I personally love the Bulgogi Roll w/spicy Mayo, Potato Pancake, & Cheese Corn. I didn’t really like their Jajangmyeon(Black Soy bean) Noodles, it was too watery. Bulgogi fried rice taste better with the afternoon chef. Also if you come during the weekdays, they have lunch combos! Totally worth it! As for the service, Justin is the best waiter! He knows when to refill your sides and water and everything else. He’s just so nice, I personally like him over the other waiters. PS: They play up to date Kpop MV ^^

If you’re ever craving some delicious Korean snacks/food, then definitely come here! We ordered: 1. Bulgogi fried rice: The Bulgogi fried rice was really delicious! A definite must try! Its portion is pretty good(5⁄5) 2. Sausage Ramyun stew: I was really excited about it because I always wanted to try what the Koreans call«military stew,» in which they slather ramen noodles, sausage, and everything into a pot. Overall, the sausages were decent, the ramyun was standard. The sauce had a tomato base to it — it was just okay(3⁄5) 3. Traditional fish roe kimbap: this one was good, although we were confused at the appearance because it doesn’t look like kimbap. What’s with the rice around it? That would be called sushi, right?(4⁄5) Prices are decent. The service is friendly. The overall décor of the place just screams young Kpop fans hangout restaurant(if that makes sense haha). There’s a huge TV screen that plays a bunch of Kpop music videos, and even some of the waiters could be potential Kpop stars. Parking is easy. Will definitely come here again to try more of their other selections!

I’m just going ahead and state the obvious here, but 626 just doesn’t have enough Korean restaurants. Besides your typical KBBQ joints, which are delicious by the way, there aren’t too many places to find good, simple Korean cuisine. However, Big Rice Korean Cuisine has changed that and I’m happy to say that I don’t have to go all the way to K-town to get my ddukbokki or kimchi fried rice fix. My review has been a long time coming, as I’m pretty much a regular there now. When it comes to their rice dishes, the name of their restaurant doesn’t lie. The portions are huge and you’ll definitely have enough to share with another person or bring for lunch to work the next day. I always get the kimchi fried rice, which is cooked to perfection with the right balance of sweet, spicy, tangy and savory flavors. It also comes with spam and seaweed and is topped off with a fried egg, but I always ask for mine scrambled so that it gets more evenly distributed. Other notables are the ddukbokki, which is neither too spicy or mild, just the right amount of spice. Well, at least for this non-Korean here who can’t handle like how spicy they make it in Korea. The ramen also seems to be popular here, despite it being similar to Shin Ramen you can make at home. However, they take things to another level by adding egg and their delicious bulgogi or spicy pork to it.

The food is more like a 3.5, but given that theres no other place like this in the area, I’m rounding up! ;) I love korean food, but hate the drive to ktown & Rowland hts so I was super excited to see that this place had opened so close to my house. I went at noontime on a weekday and it was pretty quiet with only 2 – 3 small parties. Seemed like they get a lot of togo orders. It would be a great place for larger groups and get togethers since they do have ample space for seating and great parking in the lot. While I waited, I got a jug of cold water and 4 sides(kimchee, seaweed, spicy cucumber, and bean sprouts). They were pretty typical tasting. What I ordered: ramen dukbokki Their dukbokki are smaller than usual and somewhat«cute»? The actual portion size was perfect for one as the ramen filled me up. Tastewise, I felt like the spice overpowered the actual taste. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE spicy food and normally eat my dukbokkis just fine. I would recommend for two people to share the portion and order another dish on the side.

Currently sitting here feeling like a Big Rice(ball). I was able to go through 26 years of life, and fortunately have only made a handful of mistakes. Ordering ddukbokki/rice cake ramyun from here, being one of them. You know that hot-crazy chart you have for girls? Well, I have a mental chart for calorie-taste. And now thanks to Big Rice, I have a new one to go along with it. The inconvenience-taste chart. Where do I even start. Well, for one, i’m now full as fuck off of «ramyun» which I highly believe to just be a bag of shin ramyun. Two, my fingers are all red(see photo of leaking box). And third, I’m left feeling lost and regretful. It’s barely noon. I ordered the rice cake ramyun Togo and my first thoughts were, «this looks like it’s leaking…» The waiter countered my very well educated guess given you can SEE it leaking, with a nonchalant and smiley response, «oh! We have a bag over the box, it’s just soupy.» So… While you were bagging my food(and god knows how many other previous Togo orders), you didn’t once think, «Hm… Maybe this bagging over the leaking box thing isn’t efficient at all! Maybe, juuuuuuust maybe. We should use a soup container for soupy foods. Nah.» So I was like whatever, maybe it won’t be so bad. worst decision ever. It was a complete mess to eat, and was it worth the calories and inconvenience? No, and no. I think I’ve had better Korean rice cakes from the markets where they sell it for $ 2.
