Temecula has a lot of health food stores, but Orchard’s one of the oldest(old by Temecula’s standards). Orchard’s looks like an average super market, the store lacks the unique design of Henry’s or Barron’s, but Orchard”s is also less expensive than those markets. The selection at Orchard’s isn’t particularly unique, but the store does have plenty of produce(a little bit more than Trader Joes) and I have found some great products in the health and beauty section. But Trader Joes is always going to have a special place in my heart when it comes to health food stores.

Sometimes I’m the only customer in the store which kind of makes me think it’s being hit hard by the fairly recent additions of Baron’s Marketplace and Henry’s. They have Boar’s Head cold cuts that’s why I go. You can’t get better cold cuts and I’ve only found two Temecula stores that carry them. You can always get a good deal in the produce section something is always ridiculously cheap. The canned and packaged items are overpriced unless they are part of the weekly sale.

This might be the only thing that I miss about Temecula. They have ridiculous deals on produce here — I’ve seen grapefruit 5 lbs for a dollar, cauliflower 3 pounds for a dollar, 10 hass avocados for a dollar… Basically, whatever is in season is multiple pounds for a dollar. You have to dig a little bit to find un-blemished fruit(it’s not Whole Foods), but I’m willing to dig at that price.
