Love Boat Sushi

Very good customer service! Always nice to be served with a smile. Kind of reminded my sisters and I of a diner type. Very good sushi! And their spicy edamame is amazing!

HORRIBLE service! The old lady with bangs is one of the worst waitresses in the country!!! No greeting, no smile, no apology for the 45 minute wait for our sushi when there were only 3 tables being served. Used to like this place a lot, but the attitude is getting old. 2 stars for the quality of fish, but their service leaves a bad taste in your mouth that it’s hard to enjoy the food. Bleh!

Really bad service. I found a HAIR in my sushi roll. And they wouldn’t sit us where we wanted to be seated.

Not happy AT ALL with the service. The chefs are awesome and push out orders as they are received. However, the incompetent waitresses are another story. My little girl and I waited over 45 minutes for a basic shrimp tempura roll and California roll before learning the chefs had never received the order form. Could this have been an innocent mistake? Absolutely. But the intent of Unilocal is to offer reviews based on experiences, not best intentions. Good luck if to you if you were to ever visit. Oh yeah, and don’t be a dummy like me «waiting» after feeling something was strange. Speak up, maybe they accidentally placed your order form at the register for close out in place of giving it to the chefs as they had done mine.

A criminal ran into this place today as we were having lunch. The police ran in behind him and evacuated the building. We left our food on the table, left the money to pay, and left the building. The waitress threw away our food after everything was done. Then they refused to give us any type of refund. What kind of customer service is that! I will never ever come here to eat again. We eventually agreed to settle on them providing us with a new meal… to go! But the customer service was THE WORST! Avoid this place.

The last time we went to this place was a couple months ago. I used to go there a lot with my family & friends (since 2010) but my last experience there left a bitter taste in my mouth. I still love their food and one of the best sushi places in town but their service the last time we were there turned me off.
My family & I went there 35 minutes before they closed and we ordered our normal sushi order plus one with baked salmon on it. We received most of our order quickly since there was only one other family in the restaurant & 10 minutes before they were about to close they started getting ready to close, moping the floor with cleaner (the smell made the food unappetizing) & we weren’t done with our meal yet they gave us our bill & they still haven’t even given the baked salmon sushi yet. Their reason was they forgot about it and so we received the dish after we were done eating. I didn’t want to pay for the item we have no plans of eating but my husband said lets just eat it and leave. We left exactly at their closing time, I understood they were closing but I expected to receive the same courtesy as other customers that came in any other time. If they think our order will take too much time then they should’ve have said that they won’t be able to make it on time. I used to love this place but their service really turned me off. I still gave 15% tip but I swore to myself, I won’t come back until I can forget their horrible service.

My and my husbands favorite place to go for date night. Good ambiance, good food, and good prices. Been to a lot of sushi places in San Diego, LA, and Orange county. This place is by far the best. Its not a huge restaurant so if you come at peak hours, you need to be more patient, but the wait is worth it. Very polite and friendly servers. A place I will keep coming back to.

Excellent atmosphere very happy and courteous staff I really felt comfortable with my mom laid back enjoying very well put together rolls that were described to the T in the very photographic menu! We had several rolls as we do when we go to sushi restaurants and they hit the mark on all of them I have oils recommend the 911 roll quite surprising for having no rice Would definitely come back with the family oh yeah and check groupon for any offers

The Love Boat is hands down the best Sushi restaurant I have ever been to. Not only are all thier menu items to die for, but the Chefs are an absolute crackup. I have never ordered an item and not loved it. I recommend this restaurant to everyone. The atmosphere is fun and lively as well.

The sushi here is AMAZING!!! It’s a little pricey depending on what you get, but my boyfriend and I love it here. There’s a wide variety of rolls on the menu. The service is great! The ginger is always fresh and you are greeted like you’re apart of their family when you walk in the door. I won’t eat sushi anywhere else besides this place now.
I recommend this place often and if you sushi on a budget they have a Monday-​Thursday special.

Great sushi restaurant! The employees treat you like family and don’t hurry you to leave when you are finished. The Chefs are the main attraction to the place. I’ve been to several sushi restaurants in the area and they don’t compare to Sushi Love Boat!
Even when they are at their busiest they accommodate every customer when they can.

Came here for the first time using the groupon. Very friendly staff! I got that chicken combination plate with shrimp tempura and spicy tuna in addition to the red Dragon and Alaskan roll. Came out very quickly. Food was fresh and a very good amount.

I LOVE the sushi here. The service is mediocre. I got a dealapalooza deal and paid $ 15 for $ 30 of sushi and when I went to redeem it… they told me it excluded various rolls and that the tip could not be included AND an automatic 18% gratuity was added so it was pretty much a waste of money.
The fine print did not read it that way either so it’s a rip off. The sushi is good but like I said… you sacrifice service.

Some of the best sushi in town! Plus, the servers and chefs always make us feel like family. Everyone is always willing to engage in conversation as well as tailor each visit to our liking.
I recommend the Edwin roll, baked lobster hand roll on soy, and a couple blue bottles of sake :)

I love eating here. my friends and I come here a lot and they have great prices. we come in very often :-)
I love the Rock N’ Roll and Crunchy Shrimp. I always get those. My brother really liked the Playboy last time we went. overall their sushi is amazing!
My parents loved the combination plates too.

It seems like sushi with buffets or some sort of all you can eat are the popular ones but I seriously beg to differ. Quality over quantity. I will drive 30 mins just to cure my craving for some delicious sushi. This place has become my #2 behind Sushi Deli. The staff is always extremely friendly and they are never too busy which leads to a good amount of attention. They have inventive rolls and competitive prices. My favorite is the Kelly Roll!

This place is nice and elegant. It’s a cozy sushi place to go to and pretty decent price. We got a Philly roll, spicy scallop and tuna hand roll, rainbow roll with teriyaki beef bowl. Yummy!

Had dinner here a few weeks ago after getting a coupon from dealpalooza!
We were very excited since the coupon had a lot of fine print about what we could and couldn’t use it toward but our server told us it was fine on speciality rolls and alcohol! YAY!
We took advantage and ordered quite a few rolls including the Crunchy roll, Heart Attack Roll, Baked Scallop Roll, spicy edamame, and Spicy California roll! Everything was delicious!
Cant wait to go back!

This is generic sushi. It wasn’t inedible but I would go to Chipotle next time. On top of the sushi not being very fresh the service was very slow. A couple came in 10 minutes after me and got their food 5 minutes before I did.
If you know what good sushi is, turn around and walk away.
