Since we were in the mood for salad, D&K Café was totally the right spot after checking out the build your own salads on Unilocal. We liked the concept of what they are offering, but unfortunately the food didn’t rise to the level of greatness we expected from the reviews. The salad ingredients weren’t of the quality or taste we would have liked and the dressings were generic. I really believe that if you are going to have a limited menu, then you need to do it all well to build your niche. We did get some tasty homemade breadsticks with our salad but unfortunately they weren’t amazing enough to reel us back in. The employees were very nice and really worked to accommodate the tastes of our sometimes difficult kiddos. The ambiance was blah. The inside was boring. We won’t be back to D&K Café because we weren’t provided with anything that stands out and will make us desire it again.

My new favorite café! I enjoyed the large create your own salad with the mixed greens. Absolutely delicious! Fresh and perfect greens, huge portions. The bread stick is unique and tasted heavenly. My Sister’s salad was equally delicious. Exceeded all of my expectations. We were warmly greeted immediately upon entering and the service was exemplary. I definitely will be a regular.

Amazing food with great people and friendly atmosphere!!! Me and my husband stopped by last week to grab a bite. It was late in the afternoon and the place was just winding down from serving lunch. Juan was at the counter and helped us with our order. He greeted us with a warm smile and explained how we could customize our order. We ordered 2 pizzas and an order of salad. When the food came, they looked so delicious and yummy! The salad was big and the pizzas were more than we could manage to eat. They are one of the best and freshest pizza and salad we’ve had for a long time. What made it even more special is the way we were treated at this joint. Juan is just amazing! He made sure that our experience is nothing short of exception! We will definitely be back!

I absolutely love this place. My first time here and I’m on a plant based whole food lifestyle(exactly what vegans practice). I plan on going completely vegan step by step. I came to grab brunch with my family on Sunday. Walking in an employee, who’s name was Chris, instantly greeted us, said they would be right with us and throughout our visit they checked in on us periodically. The style is that of Paradise Bakery/Panera/Wildflower where you order up front and after sitting down, they bring you your food(or maybe they only brought us our food because they were so slow). The man who took my order, Juan, mentioned that it was a busy weekend and they they ran out of eggs. I informed him that I was vegan(because it’s easier to tell people that rather than go through my whole schpiel) and asked him what was in the soup of the day(tomato basil). He was so invested in my question that we ran to the back and got a printed out list of the ingredients; only to find out it had heavy cream:(My mom told me to just get a salad. I ordered a mixed greens salad($ 4.99 small) with blank olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, avocado(additional $ 1), walnuts and dried cranberries with Italian dressing. They tossed my salad with the dressing and it was the perfect amount of dressing. Not drenched. Not dry. Juan also offered me a breadstick and I said no at first because I was afraid of any butter included and he quickly said that he makes the bread from scratch, he knows exactly what’s in it and listed off the ingredients. I agreed and I’m so happy I did. That bread was DELICIOUS. Fluffy, soft and warm and just… We left about an hour ago and I’m still craving that bread. I really appreciated everything they did to accommodate someone with my particular regimen of eating style while not making me feel rushed because of the customers behind us. Vegan friendly. Plant based whole food lifestyle friendly. Not TOO many options but the variations that someone with my eating habits can eat were present. Can’t wait to come back to Temecula and enjoy a peaceful brunch there again… And pig out on that delicious bread. THANKSJUANANDCHRISFOR A WONDERFULMORNINGANDGREATFOOD!

This place is awesome. The staff is crazy friendly and customer service oriented. That’s definitely a refreshing change of pace for most places around here. Juan and Taylor were absolutely amazing and the food was really fresh and tasty. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Ok, love the idea of building your own food exactly how you want it, portions size was good, bread sticks were great, customer service was nice, BUT… not sure if the workers just woke up from a nap, hate their job, or were high, but the«slow motion» attitude was a bit concerning. They were totally nice, just something was off. With only 6 people in there during lunch time, I am not sure this business will make it.

This place is a great place to just hang out and take a long lunch break. Food is fresh and delicious made by them for you but with exactly what you want in your pizza /sandwich or salad. You mark the boxes then they put together for you. Fresh and made to order every time. Dinning area is kept clean and décor is nice and relaxing. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful if it’s your first time there.4.99 for a personal pizza it an awesome deal. All the dough is made right there on location and is delicious :) If you order the salad it comes with a freshly baked huge bread stick. We have definitely found our new pizza /salad place.

1st time hear and was craving a sandwich. Ordered Chicken Pesto Melt on Sourdough. Bread was very fresh and airy. The sandwich melted in your mouth. Wish there were more Chicken and pesto though. Also ordered a 10″ Sausage, Pepperoni and Mushroom Pizza to go for a friend(didn’t get to try it, but looked delicious!) Service was extremely friendly, fast and helpful for my 1st experience here! Will be back to try a salad and a pizza! The prices were pretty good too! $ 7.99 for the sandwich and $ 7.99 for the pizza!

One of the best family friendly — craft everything — with breadsticks places in Temecula. Came here because all of the Promenade restaurants were way too busy on a Saturday night. Fortunately I already had D&K as my backup plan. This was our first visit and the whole concept was a bit daunting. Everything on the menu is configurable including sandwiches, pizza, and salads. Tip — They have a «Which Wich» style check box menu available that also has some pre-configured salads and pizzas. That was a big help. The food came out fresh and those long baguette shaped breadsticks smelt delicious. Pizza was perfect size for the kids and the large salad was enough to share. I bought one of the breakfast croissants which was tasty because the sausage was flavorful and there was zero grease. We were attended to and checked up on during the whole meal. It added so much to the experience and made me really want to come back again soon. — Very family friendly with the cost and the configuration options. — Breakfast bagels and croissants are served all day. — All of the bread was baked there on site. — Unilocal Deal Maybe next time D&K Café will be more plan A than Plan B

We ordered 2 sandwiches and a pizza. The sandwiches were full of very fresh ingredients and the bread they use is superb. Seems like they get it fresh from a bakery good. My grandson loved the pizza. It seemed a bit saucy but a good saucy. The place has a very comfortable feel to it, I like that. We did not feel rushed or crowded in at all. Customer service was great but they were a little in getting our order out. I will definitely be back for more great sandwiches.

How to sum up D&K in one word? AUTHENTIC. I first went into the restaurant after they opened post COSI based on word of mouth, and it just consisted of the manager and one employee. I actually tried one of their breakfast bagels and it was amazing to see them baking them fresh right out of their oven. I was intrigued to see their menu was so simple yet provided options. The concept is simple and the food is great and ready to be made. You have your choice of wraps, salads, pizzas, and more; and you can personalize it. My first experience was so great that now I find myself grabbing a delicious breakfast bagel in the mornings or for lunch/dinner as they serve all their items all day. Since day one, the business has picked up(compared to another review) and more people are coming which is great news for the business. The staff and manager are authentic and that’s what I enjoy the most. D&K could be your new place where when you walk in they know you. It’s very personal. If your nearby and your hungry for delicious food, even on a budget, you can’t go wrong stopping in at D&K.

I ate lunch here today and I’m glad I came in! I strongly prefer a smaller, independently-owned restaurant with an innovative menu, to a noisy chain with the same-food-everywhere. This place is a good example of that. It is café-style, so, understated, not flashy. Very comfortable. I’m burned out on Red-Robin-esque places for lunch. I custom-ordered a salad(I think everything is custom-order at the moment): I chose romaine with the following toppings: Pesto chicken(that alone I will be coming back for — so good), both fresh and sundried tomatoes, marinated artichokes, shredded mozzarella(soft and flavorful, not like the pre-shredded stuff you get at the store), and avocado. I was surprised to have it delivered to my table with a large breadstick, freshly baked! It may have been on the menu but I hadn’t noticed. Yum! This, for $ 4.99 + $ 1 for avocado, is going to become my lunch of choice when I’m on this side of town. My small salad and the breadstick were so filling I couldn’t eat the small pizza I’d ordered. My husband just polished it off for dinner and declared it worth going back for. It’s unique in that the crust is super thin and hand-formed, — not like the thick, uniform discs you get at chain pizza places — and bubbly-crisp but not overcooked. They have a big pizza oven — I think it’s called a pizza hearth — you can see your pizza baking. The manager came to my table and asked how everything was and told me a little about the place. They are in the midst of a «soft opening» with an all-new menu and will be having a grand opening once their sign is delivered(delays due to construction — happened to my son, too, when he opened his auto shop) So, while this is not a 5-star restaurant, I’m giving it a Unilocal 5 for what it is: a small, independently owned café, with an innovative menu, wholesome, delicious foods, and neighborly management and employees. Heads up — the only sign right now is a sidewalk sign. They are next to «My Girlfriend’s Closet» and directly across from(south of) Lazy Dog and the theater at the mall in Temecula. I took pics and will post them :)

Great prices! I work at the mall and the salad place there is over priced! This is worth the walk to get a huge salad with a breadstick for only $ 5! You get unlimited toppings and they have a great selection for wraps, pizza, salads, and sandwiches. They also serve breakfast :) The staff was super friendly! I will defiantly be going back!
