Went on a Saturday night. Food was really good. The pizza and pasta were especially good. We also recommend the dessert waffle — what a treat!

Don’t waste your time. Horrible service(waited 20 minutes for a server after being seated) and the food is way over priced. $ 25 for a dish of baked ziti??? Seriously now.!! The reason for the 2 stars is because the décor was very nice.

The worst place in bergen county to get a latte! Such a rip off & only filled my cup half way. One latte &3 macaroons for over $ 9. Terrible!

We arrived at 4:00 pm on Sunday, Feb.15, and got a table immediately, we waited for a server, no one appeared for 10 mins. Finally went over to the person that seated us, she arrived after telling us she’ll be right with us. Then, when the woman came to the table, before taking our order she excused herself to go to another party that was leaving and took another 3 – 4 minutes. There didn’t seem to be any sense of urgency or that there will be an expediency to our service. We ordered soup, salad, and Mediterranean pizza for two of us to share. The server was very busy for the amount of tables she had when we first arrived. When you asked for something you would have to wait for a considerably long time until I got up and did it myself. After reading the above reviews, the best thing that I can recommend, unless there is excellent service you will not succeed. It is imperative to have enough staff to accommodate your business. If someone has to wait for something as simple as lemons, a plate, a box to wrap up food, and the check(these were the things I had to get myself) they will leave with a bad taste in their mouth no matter how good the food is!

Alright so where to start… So I went with 3 freinds on saterday night at 9:30. Was seated at 9:45, waited till 10:30 for a waiter to come and serve us despite asking 3 difrent people if they could send somone over. After getting a waiter we got bread then oredered a sishi boat and Al fungi pizza. recived the food after 30⁄45 min. One of the rolls on the sushi boat had a hair in it which was replaced(another 20 min). The pizza was even worse, I have never in my life tasted such bad cheese. It felt as if there were granuals of something in it and tasted like over oily melted string cheese. I was not happy. I’ve been here before 12 times when they first opened. And 3 times in the past year. Not only can I confirm that the quality has been going down but with more than half of my experiences being negitive I will not be coming here again even if it means that I will have to skip nights out with my kosher freinds. Here’s a list of everything that has been bad. 1. Pasta Alfredo tasted like water refused to take back 2.sushi sandwich had crystallized frozen tuna 3.macaroon was hollow had to talk to manager to take it back was undercooked or dough was ridiculusely soggy took back once. 5.virgin cocktail was ridiculusely over sweet more then normal. Would not take back.(that was a while ago when they put the drink in this long blue plastic cup which you could keep. There’s more but at the moment I can not remember overall I would say to avoid this place at all costs. Yes it’s kosher and open late sat night but is it really worth going out at all if you know it’s going to be bad.

I love the food here. Especially the bakery! Its hard to find freshly baked goods that are kosher. And Mocha Bleu does a great job! The rugelach and challa bread are just superb. I came with some friends on an extremely busy night and although the service was not super fast it was a lot better than I expected for it being such a crowded night. Keep up the good work MB!

Well, after my review I got an email from someone who I think is the owner and/or manager. He explained that they only serve the freshest ingredients and since fresh ingredients especially fish are pricey their prices reflect this. Fair enough. He did not explain why they had tuna nicoise on the menu and it was actually tuna fish. He did say he would speak to the hostess. Ok, I had friends in from out of town and we decided to go out for coffee/dessert after dinner on Sunday night. The place was packed which is good. There was no host/hostess at the front and we waited for awhile. Benefit of the doubt time. Maybe some staff called in sick, but a «front of the house» person should be doing only that. Front of the house and making everyone feel comfortable, not disappearing and helping the wait staff. We sat in the café side and just ordered to sit down. The teas were wonderful as was the caramel latte. The prices were fair as you were still paying for the atmosphere. My out of town friends were business people. One was here a few days before with his family who had very small children and he said he was impressed with the way the staff handled a 2 year old. But, he would never take business people here. My 2 stars stand until I come back to see if they changed the wording on the menu.

Two things you should know about coming here Saturday night which is their busiest night: 1. You can only make reservations if you are a party of six+. 2. You have to order a minimum of $ 19.99, which is not hard to reach with their absurd pricing for ok food. So we went out with some friends and when we came we had to wait about 35 minutes for a table. They actually had this nifty system where you give them your cell # and they send you a text with a link that tells you how much longer the wait is(which I have no idea if its accurate or not). And obviously they text you when your table is ready, Once we sat down it took about 10 minutes for a server to appear. After ordering our food it took a really long time for it to come. The appetizers were ok. One that stood out were the Mozzarella Puffs! Really good! Everything else was ok. Sushi was ok. Pizza was ok. Nothing else was that good. My pizza was practically cold when it came out. Overall it was an ok experience. I dont know why people rant an rave about this establishment when its just an ok place. I dont know if ill come back here, but if I do I hope I will have a better experience.

For the life of me I don’t understand how people would wait in line and spend money on this place. I went here on a Saturday night using a gift card — I wouldn’t spend my own money on this place. For starters, they don’t offer any rolls/chips to nosh on till your food is ready. Then the waiter never gave us water. Now on to the food. We ordered an eggplant pizza that was actually pretty good. We also ordered some pasta dish that was flavorless and poorly prepared. I mean for 22 bucks you expect something you know actually taste half good. I could’ve made a better dish for 3 dollars. After complaining to the waitress, she said she’ll speak to the Manager — which of course she never did, I called over the manager myself. We said we want another pizza dish in lieu of the pasta dish. 20 minutes, some eggplant parmigian dish(nice lack of communication there). A very rich dish that was mediocre at best. Oh yeah and we ordered 7 dollar milkshakes that tasted more like chocolate milk. Needless to say, I wouldnt spend my own cash on this place.

So, my wife and I recently had to visit some friends in blackout affected Teaneck, NJ the week of Nov 2, 2011. We were hungry for some kosher dairy(cholov yisrael) dinner and called Mocha Bleu to see if they were open and had power(as most of the Teaneck/Bergenfield area was out). It turns out that they did, so we decided to go there for some dinner. After being seated we had to wait a good 5 minutes or so for a(clueless) female server to help us with the menu. After reviewing their menu and deciding to order some appetizers and entrees, we had to wait a good 5 more minutes till our server showed up back to our table. Mind you, the store was not that busy, but it still seemed that they are understaffed in the waiter/server dept. After placing our order, and waiting another 10 minutes or so for the food to be delivered, I got my appetizer of «Avocado Spring Roll». This was OK. For my main course, or entrée, I ordered a pasta dish with mushrooms for $ 20+. I have had this dish before and it was OK the first time(about a year ago) but this time it was awful, and inedible to say the least. The pasta was so hard and uncooked that I didn’t know what to think. I was SO hungry that I ate it anyways. When I decided to stand up and speak with the manager manning the cash register, I got another rude awakening. I asked him politely and quietly if he was the manager. His answer to me was«I could be if you want me to». This snide remark was uncalled for. When I complained about the pasta dish, he told me that he was sorry and that the reason was because they had a «new chef» tonight. He then offered me a free desert dish«on the house» to compensate me for the trouble($ 6 value). I would honestly say that this restaurant has gone downhill significantly since their grand opening a few years back. If you are looking for a nice kosher dairy restaurant that has good service, good food and decent prices, this is NOT the place for you. Look elsewhere. For almost the same amount of money you can go eat in Va Bene on 2nd Ave on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. You might pay a bit more, but you will enjoy your time there.

Went to MB late this past Saturday night. We were a party of 4 and were seated immediately. Once seated we waited about 10 minutes to be given menus. After we finally got our menus, a very nice, yet obviously very inexperienced waitress came to take our drink orders. We had various questions about menu items and she seemed as though she was in a hurry to get away from our table. We finally decided on what we wanted and could not track down anyone to take our order for another 10 minutes. When we finally placed our order, our waitress explained that they were understaffed in the kitchen so the food would take a bit longer than usual to come out, but she would bring us some free bread(thanks a lot!). Once the food came(30 minutes later) it was very underwhelming: 2 people(including myself) ordered pizza. I ordered the mushroom pie and I got a plain by mistake. When I brought it to our waitresses attention, she brought it back to the kitchen to show the chef that she did indeed put in the order to be a mushroom pie. After the chef basically screamed at her in front of the whole dining room, they threw on some canned mushrooms. Both pies came soggy, floppy, and not at all crisp. When you picked it up, the slice would fold in half and the cheese would fall off. Not at all a good thing. The 2 other people shared a creamy pasta dish with absolutely no seasoning. The sauce was loose and flavorless. Certainly not worth the calories. For dessert we ordered 2 churros, which were good. We asked if they had the warm Belgian waffle and the waitress explained that they never have it(so take it off the menu!). The pluses were the Sea Bass spring rolls(although a bit sweet due to the mock crab), the onion rings, and the fries. During the meal, it was impossible to get any ones attention. Our waitress was nowhere to be found, but it seemed like there were plenty of staff just pacing back and forth. All in all, not a great experience. I might give it one more chance before I give up entirely.

Sigh. I had such high hopes for Mocha Bleu, especially after actually walking in and marveling at the beautiful décor, its Ikea-esque nouveau look really sang to me. It was a nice looking kosher restaurant, not the typical joint that is teeming with screaming children and messy tables. It was classy. Yes, classy. The menu, which I looked over at home, excited me. I scanned it quickly, saw the smattering of «gluten-free options available!» all over the menu and was excited. Options! Finally. Delicious options. We arrived 15 minutes before opening and they seated us and served us water(which was so nice). The waitress came to take our order and I asked her about the gluten-free options. She recommended, without skipping a beat, the pizza(which they make the dough for in-house) or the pasta. Now, I was jonesin’ for some yummy Italian, but $ 8 extra for a dish to be gluten-free? Are you kidding? I could go to Sammy’s and get the same thing and not break my wallet into tiny little pieces. The cheapest pizza(which sounds amazing) is $ 12. Add $ 8 to that for me having a food allergy, and then it’s $ 20 for a small, personal pizza. That is … in a word … obscene. I buy gluten-free flours, and it doesn’t cost that much extra(maybe $ 3 or $ 4) to make something gluten-free. If that. The pasta was even worse, with the cheapest pasta at $ 16, making it gluten-free for $ 24. Later, watching a man dip into his baked penne pasta, I was salivating. Jealous. But was it worth $ 24 for gluten-free? No. Never. Nada. Maybe for my anniversary or a birthday. But a regular meal any day of the year? Heck no. So I went with a salad. I like salads. Nay, I love salads. The Cajun Tuna Salad. The waitress — bless her heart, as she’s new — explained to me that she’d talked to the salad chef and made sure he wouldn’t put anything gluteny on my salad. The salad, described on the menu, included: Spring Mix, Cajun Tataki Tuna, Red Pepper, Red Onion, Avocado. I asked for it without the avocado and assumed that these were just the *features* of the salad. The salad came, dressing on the side, with a huge mound of lettuce, about six pieces of tuna, four strips of red pepper, and that was it. No red onion. No tomatoes. No cucumbers. No nothing. And the dressing? Some kind of teriyaki/soy mixture. On a CAJUN salad? Are you KIDDING me? What’s Cajun about soy sauce? Okay, so you’re trying to be new wave, mixing flavors, but soy and cajun don’t mix. I ate the few pieces of tuna dipped in a spicy mayo the waitress brought me(since the actual salad«dressing» was loaded with gluten, which was disappointing considering she said she’d checked with the chef), the red peppers trips, and a few bites of salad. I was left feeling hungry and irritated. At no point did the waitress ask if the salad was okay. At no point did anyone suggest that I could have my salad made over because there were a bunch of things that come on it that WERENOT listed in the menu that are gluten-stuffed. So I ate what I ate and left it at that. After the meal, we went to the manager — who, it turns out, is gluten-free — to explain my disappointment with the meal. She said I should have said something to her! She knows how to spice up the salads and could have made the experience better! But, um, how was I supposed to know that? Shouldn’t the waitress have had the sense to go to the manager and ask her the questions and maybe suggest that the manager come talk to me about the best gluten-free options? The waitress also said there were no gluten-free desserts available(the only, by the way, she said, which was macaroons), and the manager sent me home with a gluten-free mousse dessert(in the pictures for this review), which, to be honest, also was underwhelming. The manager didn’t offer a discount, nothing. Just a «next time come talk to me!» Which, well, that’s super. But it isn’t going to make your gluten-free food any less exorbitantly priced, nor will it mean that every time I come in you’re going to be there to tell me what’s gluten-free-licious and what isn’t. I get it. Gluten-free is a new thing and not everyone in the Jewish community has embraced it. But if you’re the purveyor of an establishment and you’re gluten-free, and people just ooze over your gluten-free food, then make it accessible. Train your employees. Train them to ask questions of the RIGHT people, not a salad chef who doesn’t know from Adam. Will I go back here? Maybe. But only when I’m independently wealthy and willing to be disappointed again. EDIT: The coffee is good(check out the photos). I might come in here for some free wi-fi and the cozy lounge chairs. But, still, not redeeming.

Ever get seated at a restaurant and, while perusing the menu it occurs to you that nothing really sounds good? I was so excited about trying this place after passing the bakery window on my morning runs… what instead i found was a schizophrenic kosher restaurant in the midst of t-neck’s burgeoning koshertown kick. What we had: Subpar california roll with mushy, undefined rice.(6 $) Eggplant panini:(10 $) Underseasoned with tomato, eggplant and scant olives. Served with salad dressed with what tasted like strawberry jelly and a pickle(best part of the meal) Moroccan Tuna wrap: Catfood– like tuna, egg, potato and what was that– sawdust??? this sandwich could suck the moisture out of an aloe plant. Since when is flavor and moisture not kosher? Save your money. Go elsewhere.
