Jo-Ann had fabrics, and other stuff for crafts. I needed poster board. I found poster board. I purchased poster board. I can’t think of a place I less rather spend my time. But they had what I needed and I was grateful. Thanks Jo-Ann.

Normally, I love Jo-Ann Fabric and everything they have. They are one of the only places I can find Real Salt Lake fabric. However, after my experience tonight with an associate named Becky, I will rethink visiting this location. Becky treated my friend and I like we were stupid. We weren’t really sure how to go about getting a large amount of fabric and were looking for some assistance. When we brought it up to be cut and told her what we needed, she said in a very sarcastic tone«Wow, you guys really like to make it difficult don’t you?». After she said this, I made a face and she looks at me and says«are you okay?»…well Becky, no… not really. If I ever treated a customer that way, I’d be having a critical conversation with my boss. So if you go to this location, steer clear of Becky, because she will probably do the same to you.

This is a pretty good-sized Jo-Ann crafts. The store is clean and well-organized. I went in to get some help with a framing job, and the woman at the counter really went above and beyond to take care of me. She spent a good 20 minutes dealing with my issue, even thought it was a relatively small sale. Her demeanor was a little Aspergery for my tastes, but it was a small price to pay for some fine service.

I love Jo-ann’s! This store is, I have heard, the largest store in Utah and maybe even surrounding states. Saturday’s at the cut table and checkout are SUPER busy! You will wait a while in both lines, but they always have lots of people helping, so it is never just one cashier or cutter, it is just that busy. I love that they accept other stores coupons and you can use more than one coupon in each transaction. Their prices are way better than competitors and they are open on Sundays! The craft bug has hit me hard as of late and this store is within ½ mile from my house so it is so wonderful that it is my favorite craft store. I also got so many of my wedding supplies here a few years ago and since they take so many coupons, I was able to get all the décor and invitations for SOCHEAP!

This store has a nice selection of products and is clean, however, I’ve had it with their poor customer service. They pretty much ignore you in the sewing machine area, and I’m saying this after several visite there. Last night was the last straw for us. There wasnt a single customer in line at the cutting table and the only cutter was assisting a customer in the yarn. We waited patiently. Another employee goes by behind the cutting counter to grab a cart and cant even acknowledge us enough to say someone will help us soon. She completely ignored us. Finally the other lady comes back. She puts both fists on the counter and looks at us like«what do you want now?!?» Without saying a single word. Well excuse me for bringing my fabric to the cutting table for you to do your job and cut my damn fabric. We go to pay and there’s 15 customers in line and two cashiers. Tried to tell her what happened at the cutting table and she acted like she didnt understand what I was saying. Talk about awesome customer service!

This Joann stocks more fabric than the other Joann’s and also the staffs here are more friendly and knowledgeable. Yep, I am just a fan of this Joann.

I have a yarn problem. Mostly the problem is I don’t have enough space for all my yarn… This store makes my problem worse! The Salt Lake area has plenty of nice boutique yarn shops, and they’re great if you’re looking to spend a little more for something fancy. But if you’re looking for value yarns, Joanne’s has the best, and biggest, selection in the valley. I mostly come here for that, but they haven’t let me down for any other crafting needs either.

Such a craft heaven!!! I could stay here all day… Just browsing through the reams of fabric. Everything seems to be on sale whenever I visit a Jo-Ann’s. So dangerously wonderful!!! As a beginning seamstress and card-making gal, this is my wonderland…

This store has EVERYTHING! Normally when I think of Joann’s it’s for fabric, and sewing related items. I’ve been in the area for about a year, and have frequented this store many times since. For everything, not just sewing, but paper supplies for the kids art projects, sewing projects, Halloween costumes, jewelry making, Christmas present ideas and more. The store is always squeaky clean, and has some of the best cashiers and workers. They are always knowledgeable and super friendly. I will continue to use this location for any of our family’s crafty type needs.

When I think of JoAnns, I think, ya, a fabric store. The irony is, I don’t think I’ve ever purchased fabric there. Yarn, thread, craft items, knitting needles, decorations, beads, ribbon, buttons, yes, I’ve purchased all of these things. And invariably I pick up something random from the bins by the cash register(that’s my m.o. though, random last minute item grabbing). They do have a great selection of fabrics, and seem pretty reasonably priced. Maybe someday I’ll learn to sew and make use of it. This time I actually went for one of the ‘odds and ends’. A couple of weeks ago I picked up some white $ 1 stretchy gloves for a costume. They were exactly what I needed and were just sitting by the cash register. Amazing. Well, I needed MORE white gloves(for more costumes-stinkin’ Halloween) and this time they had a plethora of colors. The frustratingly early snow storm inspired the purchase of a wide variety so I’ll have options while trying to keep my ticklers toasty this winter. While it’s not the warmest feeling store, the stark white tile floors and florescent lights aren’t my favorite, the employees are usually friendly and helpful,(the fabric cutting counter always seems to be having a party or something) and it does have pretty much everything you’ll need if you’re feeling at all creative. JoAnns is usually my first stop when that mood strikes.

I needed to buy fabric and some other materials to dress up as an Oompa-Loompa in a couple of days. Non Halloween-related. Don’t ask, cause I don’t want to talk about it. So it was off to Joann Fabric and Craft. The store is located in the Family Center at Midvalley in Taylorsville, but you have to look for it tucked back on the south side of the complex, abutting I-215. Plenty of parking available. First off, this store is clean. Like, bright, squeaky, «I don’t want to mess anything up» clean. Rows and rows of fabrics, including a big section for home fabrics and quilting. There are also well-stocked art, scrapbooking, décor, and floral departments. I found a few of the things I needed to get down with my inner Oomp, but sadly they didn’t have the brown/white striped fabric I was looking for. Go look it up. I don’t hold it against them; who regularly stocks Wonka patterns? When it came time to check out, the line wasn’t too long but it moved a lot slower than it could have. I don’t know if I’m the best source of info for a fabric and craft store. I don’t spend a lot of time there, you know. But if I need to be an Oompa Loompa again(and who wouldn’t want to repeat that humiliation?) then I’d come back to Jo-Ann.
