Scooby’s Gourmet Popcorn

A little hidden away in an upstairs level strip mall. The thing this popcorn shop has going for it is the 3-​Bay crisper. You can buy warm caramel. Their caramels & candy flavors are very good. They use the larger kernels «Mushroom» seed which is proper for those types. Buuuut, they also use that for cheese & savory flavors. I find there’s not enough cheese to make it edible. The more tender Butterfly seed is better (like you get in the movie theater) for cheese. We threw the 3 cheese flavors away. They were inedible.
They do a lot with heat. I found the buffalo to be hot, with little wing sauce flavor. Disappointing.
The young woman waiting on us with many samples is a treasure. Great attitude and engaging. When you’re an owner, and you are away, you want that.
I love that they package & seal for freshness (except for the crisper where you can get 3 warm flavors). Not a fan of popcorn shops that keep the made popcorn in big containers & shovel it out.
They need to work on flavors that pop and don’t skimp on the cheese.

Best popcorn I’ve ever had. So many different flavors. Staff is very friendly and will give you samples of several kinds. Kettle corn, caramel, key lime pie and best of both worlds are some of our favorites. Get a large tub and get a discount when refilling. Trust me it will be gone quickly! You can’t go wrong with Scooby’s!

Wow! This place is amazing. The popcorn is absolutely delicious. Best popcorn I have ever tried. There are so many flavors. This is definitely a must-​stop when on your way to anywhere in the keys. The perfect snack for your 2 hr journey to Key West and also a perfect boat snack! They also have tins of all sizes for gifts! I LOVE this place!

I was so excited to finally be heading down to the Keys and able to stop by Scooby’s for some popcorn! They are located in-​between Key Largo and Islamorada with easy access right off of Overseas Hwy. Then, being to your right in the strip mall they are located in on the second floor. Their front door and entrance is very kitchy and fun drawing you into a store full of the most unique and delicious popcorn I have ever come across!
Flavors such as Cap’n Scooby’s Key Lime Pie or Buffalo Breath or maybe Bacon Cheddar; they have flavors for any tastebud craving of the day! Savory– Sweet– Spicy– Cheesy– Crunchy– Chocolatey– Goodness!
While visiting their store you will get to sample any and all flavors if you wish, even fresh out of the popper! –Hot & Delicious– The staff is very friendly and accommodating wanting you to sample and give feedback as to what you truly like! You will also find other Keys gifts and memorabilia for purchase such as The Keys Salt Scrub, Jewelry, Wall Art, Candies, Coffee, and More!

Of course we ate far too much popcorn for just a three day trip in the Keys but it is seriously addicting! They sell Scooby’s Popcorn everywhere in Islamorada so if you do not stock up enough while in store you will be in luck!
I recommend you getting your hands on a bag and not letting go until every kernel is gone, or someone else might snag it away from you AKA husbands!

This is a must see if you are into amazing flavors. The owners make any visit here so much fun by letting you try just about every flavor they had. And they have the most amazing flavors you can imagine like:
Rocky Road
Mint Chocolate Chip
Key Lime
Best of Both Worlds (dark and milk chocolate)
Sea Salt and Vinegar
S’mores
The mixes are rich, so don’t think you should order the gigantic bind. Better to get a number of smaller bags so you can try different flavors and enjoy as many flavors as you can imagine.

Stopped in on my way to Key West after seeing it on Unilocal.I love caramel corn and had to check it out. They have a ton of flavors and you can try a sample before making your selection. I tried bacon popcorn, cheese, and kettle corn. I still ended up getting the caramel liked I originally planned. A small bag is $ 3. It was freshly made that morning!
The store sells other candies also. The staff is super friendly. You park in the attached parking lot and walk up a flight of stairs to get to the store. It is in the same complex as the movie theatre and Winn Dixie.

Found this place by complete accident! We were just killing some time before we headed to a dinner spot that opens at 4PM. We couldn’t have killed 20 minutes at a better establishment. John from Baaaston was beyond friendly!
If it was up to him he would have had us try every single flavor in the store! He was extremely generous and funny as well. I left with 4 bags of delicious yummy flavored popcorn!

We stopped in to this shop during a recent drive through the Keys. The gentlemen working here was so friendly and helpful. He gave us a bunch of samples to try. Let me tell you, Key Lime Popcorn was definitely not on my radar and the thought of it was kind of eeewww. But it works! I liked it so much that we bought a bag. Plus we also went out of our comfort zone and bought a bag of Chocolate Banana popcorn as well.
They have a bucket deal for 4 of the standard flavors. I think it’s $ 7 and refills are $ 5. Plus they are located right next to the movie theater. How convenient is that???
