WASTEOFTIMEANDMONEY ! I called CVSMINUTECLINIC in advanced to ask if they diagnosed and prescribed for a simple UTI infection. They said yes. I went to the clinic and the Nurse Practitioner, Amanda, said she could not help me, because she didn’t know what was wrong with me. She charged me the full amount, $ 79.00 and referred me to the hospital. I was not helped in anyway what so ever at the minute clinic. I went to the hospital, and exactly they diagnosed me with EXACTLY what I went into the minute clinic for. The minute clinic is a SCAM to make money. I was not helped in anyway what so ever at the minute clinic.

CVS Minute Clinic is another scheme by corporate America tricking you to think you’re getting steak when being slipped hamburger instead. While branded as being convenient and easy, the process is anything but. Sadly this is the way our country is going, ever more rife with schemes to extract value siphoning it away from an ever worsening world rather than creating growth or productivity that add or create new value. I came here several times for various ailments as well as childhood vaccinations such as the flu shot for my kids. Every single time, even after arriving just after 9am, the waits were many, many hours. In terms of receiving care here, there is no one, just the Nurse Practicioners behind closed doors. Should you have questions or problems, there is a pretty useless and ignorant screen to greet you and tell you your waits are exhorbitant, on the orders of 4 – 6 hours. Sometimes it exaggerates because people get so fed up that they just leave and miss their visit, so you get bumped up, but the waits are painfully long nonetheless. While killing time here, you don’t see that many people going through, and most of them are rather young and not too sick looking. When combining this with the minimal time and rushed service you get, one wonders at the true diligence, motivation and dedication of those employed here, especially in light of the fact that anything of anything beyond basic colds, strep throats or sprains they tell you to go see a real doctor anyway. Between the waits and lackadaisical service, I don’t think the CVS Minute clinic is any good, at least the one here. Done in true CVS style, they’re after the quick buck of easy visits. The scam is simple, charging your insurance to basically say nothing is wrong with you, or should something be wrong with you, telling you to see a real doctor while they rack up what would have been a doctor’s fee elsewhere, not to mention the meds they prescribe you and all the crap you buy to kill time during the long waits. I have to give it to CVS, in terms of a profit machine, the Minute Clinic scheme is a A+ stellar money making machine. In terms of something that actually delivers value in terms of satisfying a healthcare need, there is nothing at this«Doc in A Box» for anyone desiring any kind of convenient and genuine medical advice.

The first time I went to this minute clinic it was GREAT! My husband went also and felt the same. Fast diagnosis and we got the medications we needed. But since then, my experience has gone completely downhill. The second time I went to this minute clinic, I went in for what I believe was strep throat or something else cold/virus related. I was told my oxygen levels were too low and that I had to go to the hospital instead. $ 150 co pay at the hospital later and all I had was a sinus infection and bronchitis. I got sick again in December and went to the minute clinic. I got there and signed in. 1 hour later, someone finally told the 5 – 6 other people waiting that the nurse practitioner wasn’t in. I tried to go again the next day. Same thing. Then I tried to go the following day. It was after work on a Fri around 5:45ish. I was in the middle of signing in and all of a sudden a box popped up on the machine saying she wasn’t taking any more patients and cancelled my registration. I went the next day(saturday) and she wasn’t in. I ended up going to the ER. Today I tried to go again. I’ve been sick again for a while with what I believe to be a bad sinus infection and possibly an ear infection. I sign in at 9am. There was another patient ahead of me but already in the dr’s room. I waited and waited. At 10:05am, the nurse practitioner comes out and tells us that she doesn’t know when she’s going to be able to take patients because the computers are acting too slow and IT is working on it. Do I just not have any luck here or is this place like this all the time??? I left and went home. Time wasted.
