We really enjoyed dinner there, the ambiance, the quality and taste of food was excellent, the onion soup was the same i tried in french resturant in paris and the owner was so charming that we really had a memorable night and would love to go there very soon, highly recommended it,

Le Sanglier is my favorite French restaurant! I came here for my girlfriend’s birthday and we were not disappointed! I absolutely loved the caviar and escargot. We ordered the lobster ravioli as our main entrée. We enjoyed the fresh quality of the lobster! Not only were we pleased with the food, the staff were great. They were very patient and willing to answer all our questions. They were also very attentive and polite. Great customer service! We will be back in the near future!

I don’t know much about French food but all I know now is that I LOVEIT! My friend invited my husband and I there and we have been going back every since(even with my 5 yrd old daughter). We even had our office Xmas party there last year and got to taste lots of fun appetizers and desserts. The short ribs! to die for!!! Meat falls off the bone. Place is very quaint and cozy. Great date night location.

My husband and I came to this restaurant by chance. The food was amazing and the staff was great. The appetizers are to die for. I would certainly recommend the lamb chops and for desert the soufflés are fabulous. We can’t wait to come back. Already planning on it for next week.

Love this spot for a French dinner. The lights are dim and perfect for a date night or with friends. We came right before dinner rush and we were seated immediately. They have so many options here! It was hard to narrow down to avoid over ordering like I always do. Service was good. Bread was provided. Waters were refilled. I do suggest coming with a group of people to be able to try many dishes. We ordered Escargot — delicious for an appetizer. Came with 6 pieces with lots of butter and pesto Caviar — my favorite! We had the black ones and they gave us nice crackers and pieces of thin bread to put it on Lobster ravioli — flavorful, pieces of lobsters were fresh, one portion is enough to share between 2 – 3 people Bass — fish was a good amount and the pieces were flaky and soft If I didn’t live so far I would visit often! Parking is in the back!

I have NEVER, EVER in my life been to such an amazing restaurant. I don’t know how the previous French owner ran things but make no mistake, we had the best experience because of this new owner. Not only did he give us free champagne on the house, he also brought out samples of shrimp for us to taste because he really wanted us to try it(and may I add, it was DIVINE). We used the groupon and tried almost everything on the groupon menu and everything, and I really mean EVERYTHING was delicious. I can only imagine what’s on their regular menu. I have never had such rich and delicious food in my life. I had the porkchop and even though I’m not the biggest pork fan, I thoroughly enjoyed it and finished all of it even though I really didn’t have any more room in my tummy! The champagne was also very good and so was my potato leek soup and hummus. I will come back here with pleasure not just because the food was to die for, but because I feel sort of an obligation to this wonderful man to give him my business as much as I can because he really truly deserves it. Thank you so much George for making my family and I feel so welcome in your restaurant! I will be referring everyone I know to come pay you a visit! If you enjoy an authentic, romantic, and very French ambience and you can appreciate delicious French food along with fantastic customer service, don’t even think twice, just make your way here and they’ll take it from there. George gave us very helpful suggestions(I would have never in a million years ordered escargot but per his suggestion I did and I’m so glad I listened to him) and I can’t wait to come back to see what other surprises George has. Heck I’m not even gonna look at a menu, I’ll just let him order for me.

The restaurant has a nice ambient feel to it. The owner was very nice and polite, he greeted my friend and I as we were walking in and we sat down right away. The staff service was excellent and professional. The smoked salmon appetizer was very tasty and flavorful, the filet mignon was very juicy and tender as I ordered the medium rare. Another dish that was exquiste was the shrimp scampi in tarragon sauce. All the dishes ordered was very delicious and presentation was nicely done. The restaurant is family oriented and a great dinner out with friends.

The owner was very gracious and accommodating– we went here for our anniversary dinner and were able to try everything. Great French food, great French wine and the chocolate soufflé is exquisite. Definitely try the shrimp scampi and the bouillabaisse. Husband had the lamb shank and wouldn’t stop raving about it. All and all very delicious and very romantic. We may make this a tradition ;)

Purchased a groupon deal for $ 55 for two which included an appetizer, soup or salad, entrée, and a dessert for each person! What a deal, because if we had purchased the meal without the groupon, we would have paid $ 120! Staff members were very friendly and helpful when it came to helping us decide what to order from the prefix menu! We were not disappointed with any of the choices. However, we thought maybe the pork tenderloin could have been a little bit bigger. The bread pudding we got for dessert was phenomenal! Now that we’ve gotten a glimpse of the food here, we will definitely come back and order other things off of their menu!

A great experience. Service was flawless, Duck, pork tenderloin, bass, mussels, beet and goat cheese salad were all delicious and excellent. Crêpe Suzette presentation was a show stopper. From the minute we entered we were treated warmly and professionally. Highest recommendation. Thank you for taking fantastic care of us.

Here’s the thing. Totally ok food, but not for the price. Furthermore, I was added to their email list after signing up but eventually asked to be removed(about a year ago) and I continually get emails despite having asked multiple times to be removed.

My husband and I had been to this restaurant several times either us alone or with friends and families. We brought our son and another couple to this restaurant on January 9,2016. Our son summed up the experience: ’ an expensive restaurant with nothing to show for’. Service was extremely bad. We were neglected for almost an hour. It took several waving to any waiters passing by before one finally came to pour water into our goblets. Even after we quickly told this waiter that we were ready to order, he ignored us and left. We had to waived many more times before another waiter came to get our orders. And this waiter was rude and impatient. Foods were mediocre. My steak was hard and extremely salty. Our son had the pork chop dish and when asked, he said it was ‘ok’. My husband and our friend had the fish dish(sea bass or something) and their comment was that ’ the sauce was good’ and made no mention of the fish. This restaurant is in our neighborhood. We would love to continue to support it by bringing friends with us. But after several bad experiences, bad foods and bad services, we will never go back. With many other restaurants(CPK is just across) to choose from, don’t waste your money and time on this one.

My experience at Le Sanglier last night was utterly unacceptable, especially the service and in addition the food was at best mediocre. Despite the fact that both the person I was with and I are serious Francophiles who speak fluent French and approached the Maitre de in a most gracious manner, his attitude toward, and treatment of us was appalling. I was shocked when he seated us with anger written all over his face. His interactions with us from beginning to end were not only haughty, they were downright hostile. For example, when I asked him about the difference between three of the white wines he replied curtly that they were«all white wines». I said yes, I see but what is the difference between them. His overbearing response was again that they were all white wines. I said, yes but how do you experience the difference between them he replied in a condescending supercilious manner that one was fruity, the other was not and the third(the name of which was«Between Two Rivers») he said smiling sarcastically was«between the two». When I asked our waiter if I could taste two of the white wines he balked, turned away and brought back two full glasses of white wine. I said we hadn’t order two glasses of wine, that I had merely wanted to taste two of the white wines he told me in a superior tone of voice that the restaurant didn’t offer tastes. Having just returned from Paris where I ate at stared and non-stared restaurants all of which most graciously offered tastes of wines(which has always been my experience in Los Angeles restaurants as well) I was a bit stunned, not only by the refusal but by the manner in which the refusal was stated. When the food arrived the soup du jour that was merely acceptable, the snails were oily without enough garlic and with tasteless parsley and my fish had a floury texture and dull taste. Only the desert was excellent. The price for this atrocious dining experience was the inverse of the lowly service and commonplace food. No restaurant in my entire life has ever treated me with such gratuitous arrogance.

Came here on a Groupon for a 4-Course dinner for two. The place was pretty much empty which was concerning, because usually that is a sign for bad service and/or food. However, that was not the case this time around. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful! I highly recommend the onion soup, it is amazing!

My boyfriend and I got a groupon for their 4 course meal with wine pairings. Seems great right? NO. When we got there and told them that we had a groupon we were flat out ignored for about 20 minutes! No one came to give us water, bread, nothing. We had to ask. The owner saw us and walked by about 100 times throughout the night to talk to and laugh with every other table but we didn’t even get a «hi.» We clearly weren’t worth his time because we had bought the groupon HE put on the site. The wait staff was rude, disrespectful and dismissive the entire time. The food was a solid 8 out of 10 and well priced for«french cuisine.» However, the service was truly horrendous. We felt like second class citizens. To make things even worse, the waiter tried to CHARGEUS for the wine that was included in the Groupon deal. When we showed him the groupon again his only response was the original cost of the meal was XXX so tip appropriately. Never going back. Go to Brandywine instead! The service is much better at Brandywine, the owner and waiters are divine and the food… heaven. TLDR; Avoid if you are a grouponer. Go to Brandywine for a much better experience.

Le Sanglier is on a quiet sidestreet maybe 50 yards off the busy Venture Boulevard, so it has an easy to find location. The atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing. The service was excellent. The wine list was good. Highly recommended. I recommend this restaurant.

Worse French restaurant, I shouldn’t say French restaurant actually, I should say Mexican restaurant. Servers are Mexican they don’t know what French food is, they don’t know what foie gras is. Ordered Bottle of Beaujolais, appetizers, and dinner for two. At 9:10 pm I asked for dessert; Soufflés au Grand Marnier, reply was«senior the kitchen is closed.» They close the kitchen at 9:30! Usually The server asks if we want anything before the kitchen closes… It was my wife’s birthday(who is French and she loves Soufflés. We don’t understand how this restaurant is still open for Business !! My suggestion to the owner is: Change the title from French restaurant to Mexican restaurant. And call it El Jabalí! FOODPOISONING! no thanks. My mom bought a groupon(4-course dinner for 2) without doing any research on the restaurant. I booked us an OpenTable reservation for a Friday night, but had not read the terms listed that you must mention the Groupon with your reservation. When we arrived(20 minutes early), the place was pretty empty. I mentioned the groupon immediately to the host seating us, who then reacted very strongly/very poorly to the fact. We got to stay and dine(unlike what apparently happened to a few other Unilocalers), but I could tell that the service was not going to be good from that point on… The owner was *very* rude, though our waiter was alright. The Groupon’s offering was separate from their normal menu, which is presumably why they want to know if we’re using a deal beforehand. The food itself wasn’t bad, though I wish their 4-course menu was more descriptive of their dishes since I couldn’t figure out some of what I was eating during the meal. When I thought I was ordering something like hummus, I ended up getting a polenta cake instead??? Worst of all about the experience: when my mom and I came back after the meal, it was very apparent that we had gotten food poisoning from the restaurant… Safe to say we will NOT be returning.

My wife & I bought a 4 meal dinner at Groupon. And we tried this French rest. in the valley. We were impressed with the service, the ambiance & most especially the 4 meal course. I had the bass in saffron sauce & my wife had the pork tenderloin. We also had bread pudding for dessert. If you’re craving for french food, I would highly recommend this place. I would definitely come back to this place.

This is your place if you’re looking for an old-school French restaurant. The old-school bit is the real deal – not an act. Le Sanglier has been around for over 40 years, serving up French classics. The service is attentive and complete with thick French accents. The food is exactly what you’d expect – well prepared classic French food. Tons of butter, delicious sauces, tasty cuts of meat. I love their mushroom appetizer in a pastry crust. The mushrooms are cooked perfectly in a delicious sauce, with the butter puff pastry. If you like mushrooms, don’t miss them. If you don’t like mushrooms, consider giving them a try… they might change your mind. Pro tip: they’ll make lobster thermidor for you… it’s not on the menu, just make sure to order it a few days before your reservation. Make sure you save room for dessert. The wine-poached pear in a puddle of dark chocolate sauce is SO good. Not too soft, not too firm, lots of flavor from the wine and spices, and then doused in dark chocolate for good measure. What could be bad? The other options are good, too, but I’m stuck on this one.

Back at Le Sanglier for Mother’s Day courtesy of our hosts who Love this restaurant. It’s just very inconsistent here, and while a few months ago we had a great meal, this time, it was a disappointment. The $ 40.00 filet was one of the worst pieces of meat that I have ever had.(Last meal here the filet was one of best.) Every single piece of the filet that I ate required me to spit out that lump that you cannot break up with your teeth or swallow. I had to stuff them under my plate to hide them. There was no tender smooth delicious cut at all in this filet. They are not watching their meat vendors. Came with buttery tasteless mashed potatoes and greasy veggies. The spinach quiche was very good. House salad very good. Shared some of my Partner’s Baked Salmon which was also very good. Apple pie was mediocre. Service mediocre to poor – no one refilled or asked about my empty soda glass. I had to beg for water in the end. They didn’t care or give a S was my feeling. They are going through the motions, no energy. I am always an invited guest here with others, so I mind my own business and suck it up. I was just happy to be with a great family. I know it’s hard to run a restaurant day to day, quality control is precarious, but at these prices, we are not talking a $ 10 per person meal, I expect a whole lot more than what is being delivered, so not a place I would invest my personal dining $$ I hate to say.

First of all. Great place for a Nice date night. The service is perfect, All the waiters are ex military so they do my baby your table but are very prompt and thorough. I made a reservation literally 20 minutes in advance. For a last minute nice place to go, This is it. The food was very good. Was a tad bit salty but nothing too overwhelming. The plates come out literally very hot(out of the oven) to keep everything warm. So I found this place on groupon & I looked them up on Unilocal first b4 I bought the deal, but I didn’t end up liking the pre-fixed options so we just dinned without a groupon. I think most people come here on a groupon and get a prefixed dinner for 2 but it was worth every penny without the deal too and it’s a nice enough menu your gonna want to get other things off the pre-fixed list. I would definitely come back for the French Onion soup too. That was amazing.

Le Sanglier was lovely. My boyfriend and I dined on a Groupon, and reading some of the reviews prior to our dinner made me nervous. However, none of my fears were actualized at dinner. Everyone was very kind and attentive. I had the dinner salad, escargot, and the bass in saffron sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly, especially the bass. Boyfriend had the french onion soup, beet, beans, and goat cheese, and the pork cutlets. He loved everything as well. The apple/pear tart with vanilla ice cream was tasty, but I couldn’t eat much of it because I was already so full. I had a delicious glass of moscato as well.

Found out about this place on Groupon. The place has been here for over 45 years, never knew that it was here before. We are glad we tried. Very nice and quaint restaurant. Salmon and pork chops were cooked just right and very tasty. French onion soup was cooked and prepared just right. Professional and courteous staff. Nice quiet place to bring a date. We felt like we were on vacation and away from home. Nice ambience.(we only live 20 mins away) Very relaxing and A+ service. The tax is not included which cost an extra $ 8 on top of the $ 79 we paid for the 4 course meal w glass of wine. We gave $ 18 in tips so the total spent was about $ 79+$ 8+$ 18 = $ 105 for the meal(I guess we could have gave more tips but for a Tuesday night dinner — I think it was more than what we usually have for dinner.)

I purchased a Living social deal, so we had the prix-fixe for 2, for $ 59. We also ended up getting a plate of mussels and two glasses of house merlot(not part of the deal), which ended up being an additional $ 50. We tipped $ 35.So, even with the Living social deal we spent $ 145, and it was worth every penny. The service: 5/5, excellent. The staff was very welcoming and professional. The food always came out at the perfect temperature, and every course came out in a timely manner. The food: everything we ordered was delicious. The leek & potato soup, escargot, beet/goat cheese/bean salad, pork tenderloin, and mussels. were all so perfect. The only dish I didn’t absolutely love, was the bass in saffron sauce.

Tucked away in a corner of Tarzana, Le Sanglier was well worth the 25 miles and 1 hour and 15 minutes it took me to get there. In full disclosure, I went with a Living Social deal which entitled me to a pre-fixed menu for two. Although we arrived, 15 minutes late to our reservation, we were seated right away. Well, we would be anyway as there were absolutely no patrons in the restaurant. I presented my deal right away, so as to avoid any confusion later on, and in return, we were given the pre-fix menu — each course(there were four) with at least two choices — with the exception of desert, this was chef’s choice. I ended up with the following: –Dinner Salad –Beet and Bean with Goat Cheese Appetizer –Pork Tenderloin –Apple Tart(this was the chef’s choice) All of my dishes were well executed, plated beautifully and served at the right temperature. My favorite dish had to be the Beet and Bean with Goat Cheese Appetizer. The combination of flavors was phenomenal — nothing like I’ve ever had before. From start to finish, I had a great dining experience. Service was flawless. Because no other parties showed up(except towards the desert course) it almost felt like a private dining experience — and I have no problem with that.
