I know why they call this place the baest greek join in the valley! The owners are from Greece of course and the food doesn’t skip a Greek beat. They have lamb, beef and chicken Gyro– I’ve never seen a spot with all 3 options! If you are looking for a healthy meal I would go the mixed Gyro Salad– BOMB!!! Also, if you are extra hungry the Dolmeh is definitely worth getting. It’s $ 2.50 for one but is very large(probably about the size of your palm). If you’re unfamiliar with what a dolmeh is, it’s a grape leaf that is stuffed with soft rice and minced beef then steamed. Very tasty food & I will definitely be back

Good food. Large portions for lunch which makes it even better. I love Mediterranean food — and don’t eat much Greek cuisine — so it’s great there is a place close to work that I can go to.

This place is amazing. This is my go-to for Gyros and Greek Food! It now is a sit down restaurant, instead of just counter service, but the prices remained the same. For a quick, VERY filling, delicious meal I get the Gyro combo(mix of beef and lamb) with your choice of fries or rice. I always get the rice. SOMUCHFOODOMG. I can never finish the rice, but the gyro I always just stuff myself passed the point of being crazy full(I know this is a bad thing, but it’s YUM!). It is so darn delicious, it’s like an accomplishment if you finish it. If you don’t finish it, that’s where the regret comes in, lol. They also have plates which is the«dinner» option of the gyros and kebabs. Comes with rice, hummus, pita, and a greek salad… which is huge, btw. Prices are about $ 10-$ 15, which is absolutely worth it. It’s quick, delicious, and FRESH! Parking is at the back of the restaurant and limited, so just beware. I am not sure if you can park on the street, because I have gotten lucky and always managed to get a parking spot… the gods and goddesses are smiling on me!

I’ve always been curious about this place. I must have passed it hundreds of times. I finally got a chance to grab some lunch one day. Food was ok. Falafels were overcooked and a tad dry. Lamb chops were seasoned well, but sinewy and fatty. Dolma was huge and a good value. If I do come back, I’ll have to try the gyros.

Written in the POV of my son: Hello I had just came to this restraint on Sunday 17, My parents came here and just to say it was not a good experience also after we got out check she tried to do excuses and surprising she said OMG under her breath wow how nice is that. Thank you nice waiter ill will love to come back(not). Well First off we got this chicken sandwich I tried it I did not like it but I tried my Dad and I liked it well we got it we said to replace it but you know what she did she just gave me a plain bowl of chicken no pita no nothing. We told her what the heck and she said«oh I’m so sorry I thought you just wanted to replace the chicken» yah we said to Replace it but no she though we said only replace the chicken no we said replace what means all, and we did not even get our water’s and drink’s till 20 minutes after. Well it was just so bad how can this place have so much good reviews is it just this one waiter. The Sassy The Rude And The Obnoxious Well I was waiting for my mom while she in was in bathroom she told me that the bathroom had pee, and Graffiti, so nasty the owner should hire more people or someone should call a health inspector. Well then after that me and my mom were doing a funny trick with balancing and the waiter came and said«you know your food is over there now» In a mean voice. Well then there was a group of teens and they had there phones bursting with very strange noises and videos and they did not acknowledge that people were eating and that they were multiple kids.

Never been here before, not impressed. Greek salad for 9 and it really didn’t have much. 5 olives, 4 slices of cucumber, mixed salad. I thought the dish was going to be deep but it was practically flat. The pita bread was the best. Tried the bakalav. It had a different taste than most, the sheets of filo seemed to be undercooked and color of white, at least the bottom layer. Absolutely, have had better at those bakeries in Glendale.

I really like this Greek place the best! And I’ve been coming here for at least 5 years now so I know it is consistently good! The chicken gyro is always so moist and juicy and really just has such an amazing flavor! The only thing I’ve not been a fan of are the French fries — they’re a little bland. I always opt for the Greek salad instead which is always tasty and flavorful! I usually get this food to go but I have eaten in a few times as well and the service is always excellent whether you’re eating in or taking it to go.

Overall the atmosphere was beautiful. There was a vivid mural of Greece in front of you while you eat and the décor feels very home like and warm. I ordered the chicken souvlaki which is basically chicken kabobs. I was a bit disappointed. I have had some really juicy/savory kabobs im the past and this just didn’t live up to my expectations. The the chicken was submerged in Tzatziki sauce which was delicious but the chicken buy itself was on the dry side and a bit more charred than I have had in the past. The rice pilaf was meh because the grains were too big. I also had hummus. It had cayenne pepper on it which I did not like. It looked like it was freshly made but I wish it was pureed a bit more for a smoother texture I put an extra star for the Greek Salad. Very, very fresh and crisp. My boyfriend is from Europe and he said the tomatoes in the salad were tasted like the ones he grew up eating. I would go back again but definitely not the best greek food I have had.

This is one of those places I’ve driven by for years and never stopped in. Today my Mom and I finally decided to try it. This may very well be the best Greek restaurant we have tried. We decided to order the combination plate for two. First we were served Greek salads. The salad had mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumber, and was topped with feta cheese. Then the waitress brought us two plates filled with food! one plate had pita bread and four puff pastries: Spanokapita stuffed with cheese and spinach, tiropita stuffed with feta cheese, and French fries. The other plate was filled with moussaka, dolmas and gyro meat. All the items were excellent. The portions were huge and we took home plenty of leftovers for dinner. The small dining room is nicely decorated but the tables are squeezed in making it difficult to pass by occupied tables. The only thing we didn’t like were the heavy chairs that were difficult to move in and out. Fortunately we don’t go to restaurants for the furniture.

I lost count of how many times I’ve dined at Firehouse, since I was a teenager; I’ve seen the ownership and food quality changes, over the years. Right now, overall, Firehouse is a good Greek eatery. There are times when I feel like rating them 3 stars and other times they’re a 4 star. Food is usually fresh. However, on a couple of occasions, because they had cooked and trimmed the gyro meat in advance, when they heated it up to serve, it was a bit dry. Service is good and friendly. The dining room and tables are clean. Prices are reasonable. I recommend Firehouse :)

You want fantastic Greek food in the SF Valley go to the Firehouse. Have been coming here over 25 years and it always puts a smile on my face. Always leave there with a food coma. Can’t wait till in Reseda so I can go back.

It was easy to order and they made it fast(I took it to go). I was in and out within 15 minutes and I ordered 4 gyros. The atmosphere is nice. The seating area was beautiful. The music is authentic. Extremely clean! I was very impressed! :)

It is long over due that I update my review. Anytime you find yourself craving food from a particular restaurant, they deserve 5 stars. Well, I have weekly craving for a Firehouse Gyro… Yes they are that good. The hummus is spectacular. Served with warm Pita Bread. And I have even tried a few other items off the menu… All of it was incredible. So, Firehouse Restaurant, please forgive my previous 4 star review. You completely deserve 5+ stars.

Well… everything looked good on the menu… so we decided to order the combination platter for two. Hmm… we had no idea what we were getting into. A world of delicousness and overstuffed stomachs! And our wallets aren’t that much slimmer too. Usually I’m not around this neighborhood but we had met with a contractor in the morning. We naturally got hungry as time wore on and then we found Firehouse Restaurant. Funny name. Good food. It’s not a very large place and there are a few spots in the back for customers. Other than that its street parking. It’s pretty busy during lunch time and the entire place was filled up. They have the heaviest wooden chairs and tables that really look like they belong in a medieval themed restaurant. There’s one sole waitress who really hustles and does a pretty good job of taking care of everyone. No time for chit chat and I’m sure she gets more than 10,000 steps in every day. She’s efficient and she deserves every penny she gets for tip. COMBINATIONPLATTERFORTWO — $ 25 This was an insane amount of food! We thought it would just be samples of every little thing that was listed but I feel like we got full size portions of everything! There was 2 big greek salads, a big block of moussaka(think Greek version of lasagna), two big dolmas(grape leaves stuffed with rice), two spanakopita(spinach and cheese in filo dough), two tiropita(feta in filo dough), french fries, and a big pile of gyro meat. I was in love with this place as soon as the side salad(which was hugeeee) came out. Two big plates of it! Chock full of feta(love) and fresh veggies. Great starter. Then another plate came out which was piled with the moussaka, dolmas, pita, and gyros. We were entirely impressed with the amount of food that had just been set in front of us. We didn’t even realize we hadn’t gotten all our food yet. Then the last plate came out with everything else. Whoosh… ton of food. Of course it was alll sooo delicious too. I definitely preferred the spanakopita over the tiropita because it was better balanced in flavor. But by no means does this means the tiropita was bad. The gyro meat was amazing. Great flavor and they had lightly fried it up after slicing it off so that we got a lot more of that crispy edging. I loved the texture of the pita they gave us also. Even the dolmas which I don’t normally like but they make it well here. The moussaka is one thing I didn’t eat much of and was my least favorite. We ate all the leftovers for dinner too… haha. For $ 25 we had a complete meal for lunch and dinner for two!

Mediterranean food is often over hyped and over priced, so when I first opened the restaurant menu I was a little skeptic about the place. The reviews on Unilocal did help convince my brother and I to visit this place to try out the food. We ordered the lamb souvlaki, the beef souvlak, the mix gyro plate, and a lamb dish lathered in marinara sauce. The plates come with a big portion of salad and choice of rice or french fries. Being Thai I always prefer a side of rice to anything, especially greasy fried french fries. Their salad is one of the best«side» dishes I have ever had. Honestly the salad could’ve been a main course. With the amount feta cheese they put I was good on the amount of protein served for a course. But a few minutes later our dish came out and they were amazing. The lamb was not super gamey, indicative that it was prepared well and fresh. The beef was beef, no complaints and it was amazing. The mix gyro was awesome! The lamb marinara sauce was not as great as we’d thought it would be. I forgot what it was called but it started with lamb K__(something)___, too sweet for my taste. I will definitely be coming back! It was an amazing experience.

Food is usually good and salads nice and fresh. Portions are large and can be easily shared family style. It’s never been packed, but service can be a bit slow at times. Unfortunately there’s usually only 1 waitress and it can be a bit much for her to handle all the tables. Occasionally they’re slow to serve up the food that’s ready, but I’ve also seen some impatient customers. Guys in the kitchen are usually pretty friendly.

I’ve lived in the valley a long time now and this is the best Mediterranean place I’ve been too. There is no street parking unless you park around the corner. They have parking on the side in the alley but its limited and can fill up fast, I’ve had to park around the corner in the residential area a couple times to go here. Inside is nicely decorated. It sounds like they play some greek music which adds to the ambience. From the first day I visited this place I was hooked. I’ve tried a fair number of menu items but for me I order the souvlaki, beef or chicken are great and I alternate on visits. They have a lot of other great choices these are the two that I prefer. It also comes with pita bread. I don’t know if they make it fresh or buy it but it comes out better than any I’ve had to date. Its soft and seems like it just came out of the oven. Most of the meals come with a salad. The salad is not a timid little side salad either, its a plate with tons of fresh ingredients, kalamata olives, onion, tomato, dressing and cheese, its a great way to start your meal. For the sides, I recommend several, all are good. Just know that some are«per order» like the falafel so if you want two pieces, its two orders. Speaking of the falafel, they are really good. They had awesome flavor and weren’t too dry like some places I’ve gotten them at. The grape leaves are another one that’s good to get. The Hummus is a good addition and comes with more of that pita bread. I like to order the fries with a side of tzatziki sauce which works out better than ketchup. Service has been my only real complaint in the past and I’ll say its improved some but when they get busy its only one person running the floor and they tend to get overwhelmed because they also have things to do in the kitchen. If they start to get to a point where its too busy they might need a larger location and turn this place into a to-go only place. I want to see them succeed but its a challenge because they have good food and a larger place with more parking might allow more people to visit but I’ve seen businesses struggle with a larger location and the food and other things start to suffer or short cuts to save time see lesser quality items which would lose customers.

I knew this restaurant would receive high ratings from me when I ordered one dish and two giant plates of food appeared in front of me. Just kidding. Kind of. The restaurant itself has a really cute vibe(come bring your dates everyone). Walls are painted with scenery, and the chairs/tables make it feel like a foreign little location to dine at. I ordered the Meze Platter($ 12.50) because I wanted to try everything. I replaced the fries with more Greek salad, so the plate(or should I say PLATES) came with mixed gyro meat of beef and lamb, chicken souvlaki, housemade hummus, plenty of tzatziki sauce, and a giant plate of Greek salad. — Beef and lamb gyro = UMPH. Seriously. So flavorful on their own, not overly salty, didn’t have giant pieces of lard in it, and was perfectly tender, yet had a bit of a delicious crunch from being roasted. It was definitely the best gyros I’ve had so far. — Chicken Souvlaki was also another UMPH. Marinated perfectly! Although. I definitely preferred the Gyros over the chicken.(Sorry chicken, you can’t compete with red meat). — Hummus was definitely not something I was used to, but nevertheless amazing. It was less grainy than your typical hummus(It didn’t do that whole stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth kinda thing that hummus usually does). — Greek Salad was perfect. The vegetables were so fresh and more than plentiful. They were extremely generous with the cheese and the dressing was the best I’ve had at a Greek restaurant. Seriously. I even ate the tomatoes in it. And I hate tomatoes.(Although I left the giant pieces alone I admit). Unfortunately, the tzatziki sauce was a bit lacking — it seemed more ranchy than tzatziki, but on the bright side, my dish barely even needed it! Overall, I had such an amazing experience — my friend and I cleaned our plates with no regret. I will definitely be back… Hopefully very soon. Parking is in the back of the restaurant! Super convenient, yet a little confusing. Don’t pull into the car dealership next to it like I did.
