Good solid place. Made a reservation to eat there before a show at the Tarrytown Music Hall. Small place. Incredibly nice an attentive staff. Great food and atmosphere. My wife and I had Lobster Bisque Soup, Eggplant Rollitini, Veal Scapariello, and Chicken Francese. All awesome. Very reasonably priced. Dinner for two including two Presecos, two desserts, tax and tip came to $ 70 a head. I would definitely recommend this place. It is a gem in a small town. Nice job gentlemen. Well done. Ladies and Gentlemen… That’s my time.

Bistro 12 had by far the worst food of any restaurant I have ever dined at… the service was great, the atmosphere was very nice, but nothing could prepare us for the culinary slop that was to be put forth in front of us… horrible…both mine and my fiances dishes the veal scallopiniI and the chicken francaise were runny appearing to have been boiled yuck! I look at other reviewers comments and cant believe what I’m seeing… I don’t even know if any of them would know good food if it slapped them in the face… you want good Italian food and I mean real Italian food and not this pig slop go to Long Island

Our first visit to Bistro 12 was exactly a year ago. Our dinner was delicious, and Miguel treated us as he knew us for many years(including their famous dessert«on a house»).Since then we’ve been there couple more times(going there from NY), and when we were looking for a place to have our small wedding ceremony and a lunch afterwards last week, Bistro was our first choice. We were not disappointed. Manuel and Miguel were very accommodating and did an absolutely great job. Food and wine were amazing, atmosphere is warm and cozy, all our guests(we had a very small reception for about 20 people) really liked the place. Thank you, Miguel and Manuel, for making our special day so memorable!

Food was amazing and service was great ! We really enjoyed this place. I got Ravioli special and my husband got the fish and both were exceptional. The calamari wasn’t something I would get again but it was good.

Magical food! We went there for dinner the 23rd of October. He gratuitously fit us in w/o a reservation. The meal was served promptly. The seafood risotto was the best I’ve ever had. Only negative was the«air freshener» in the ladies room was Sooooo overpowering that I almost lost my appetite.

Had lunch with colleagues at this lovely little spot. Atmosphere is as if one has escaped the U.S., and been magically transported to a cozy bistro in Europe. Food and service were incredible! We shared two apps… buffla mozzarella, and eggplant rollitini. Mains: I had the Branzino(fish) with mango, avocado, and cherry tomatoes. Other diners enjoyed the braised rabbit, and pasta bolanese. For dessert we shared flan and chocolate mousse. The flan was incredible. I have never tasted anything so velvety and creamy. The waiter treated us to some«Muscato» with our coffee. An incredible experience. Lunch for three(with tip $ 150). Not cheap but SO worth it! Treat yourself to this little«gem» in downtown Tarrytown.

Based on Unilocal reviews, my friend and I came for dinner. It was amazingly good. We had Grilled octopus for an appetizer! Yum! Good thing I don’t live in Tarrytown or I would be there Every week!

Being new to the area, I choose this place based on the stellar reviews Bistro 12 has received on Unilocal. The food was so good that I felt compelled to add my accolades. Bistro 12 is small and charming and with reviews like these, I’d image that reservations on a Friday or Saturday night would be a necessity. My visit was for a late lunch with business colleagues. At this hour, the place was fairly empty and quiet, and one of the owners waited on us. He offered recommendations which proved to be very helpful and very satisfying. For appetizers two of us orders the grilled octopus and one ordered the crab meat salad. The octopus was done to perfection — the best I’ve tasted. For my main course I choose the seafood risotto(which was one of the recommendations). The other dishes ordered were the halibut and the sea bass, both generous portions cooked and seasoned to perfection and accompanied with freshly grilled vegetables. The seafood risotto was outstanding! I’m looking forward to returning as there were many other very tempting dishes on the menu, the only problem being that it will be difficult to pass up the seafood risotto.

Had the clams linguine with white wine sauce and garlic. Perfect. Tons of sauteed garlic slivers, which i love, other places that can be a little overkill w taste but somehow @ Bistro 12 they managed not to over power the meal ATALL, maybe they cook it separately. Fresh clams. Perfect al dente linguine. Excellent. Started with some generous slices of crusty warm fabulous sour dough bread and perfect temperature pats of butter. Pinot Grigio, a little sweet for my taste but super hi quality. Tiramisu and coffee fantastic. Adorable little main street locale. Service was okay, they were super nice and sweet, but guessing during rush hour dinner you will need some patience. Doesn’t matter, TOTALLY worth it. Extremely enjoyable experience. Just relax and savor. You will not regret it.

Not cool. My review is based on making a reservation yesterday, driving all the way up to Tarrytown today(7 pm res) walked into a completely empty restaurant only to be told the manager/owner(maybe this was Miguel?) could not seat my party earlier nor did he have my reservation listed. Um what? How is that possible we spoke on the phone. He started talking some nonsense of people calling a week in advance when on the phone he gave me multiple reservation times for the following Night. Moral of the story, make sure you get the persons name, and have them read back to you your phone number, correct spelling of your name and party size. We ended up eating at the slammin Greek spot on the corner which I highly recommend. Once we left we walked passed Bistro 12 again to see if it filled up and Something tells me the owner only likes a certain type of clientele dining at his restaurant if you know what I mean… passing judgement was what he did best, he did not apologize nor did he offer any other alternatives for messing up our dinner plans.

Found Bistro 12 driving from Newark Liberty Airport to Fishkill late on a Tuesday night. The food was first-rate: my beet salad, followed by sea scallops were great; my colleague’s house salad and veal likewise. Miguel and Manuel were gracious hosts even though we arrived close to closing at 9:15 pm. Miguel’s artwork graced the walls of this charming little place, just off State Route 9, on Main Street. Top recommendation.

Had the best dinner with friends here. I can’t say enough about Miguel, who also painted the beautiful pictures on the walls. He made us feel like we were regulars, even though it was our first time here. The food was outstanding. Our appetizers of clams, sardines, and buratta were perfect. The seafood linguine was filled with just the right amounts of each type of fish. The sauce was wonderful. The rabbit was delicious as was the stripe bass. After dinner the flan was the best we’ve ever had. We will be making the trip from Orange County again.

Tarrytown’s quaint and elegant place to dine. Nice ambience, romantic and great for outdoor dining that’s directly in front of the town music hall. Portuguese cuisine with a twist of Italian dining. Great bar with top shelf liquor and cocktails. Terrific appetizers including the grilled octopus that was simply delicious. The octopus was served with a sprig of Rosemary which perfumed the dish however, it certInly could do without the bed of warm lettuce it was served on. I ate the stripe bass with vegetables,(I really wasn’t crazy about the flavor of the veggies) with a tomato sauce and capers that brined the fish nicely. I ate all and left a very nice taste on my pallet. All in all, Bistro 12 is a place I will return to.

Revisited Bistro 12 for take out and was quite satisfied with the service and food. The pasta bolognese was perfectly prepared and tasted like the noodles were homemade, also had the Octopus salad which tasty too!

This place is more of an Italian place than Portuguese. I wanted to try Portuguese, so I asked the server for Portuguese recommendation but there are like 2 – 3 only. But it’s OK. So I ordered an authentic Portuguese dish: Risotto. I don’t know why I scrapped my Portuguese plan that I had before. But the risotto was … ok … way too salty in my opinion. I also ordered Portuguese dessert: tiramisu… The whole Portuguese plan really didn’t work out. If you’re a regular, you’re serviced much better. I was rarely paid attention. The guy even rubbed it in by asking where I am from. Boston… yeah that also doesn’t help. But it’s all good. I like being left alone anyway when I eat. I was even dining solo as I was traveling alone. all good. all good.

The food here is pretty good, but the service is weird and awkward. I arrived here on a Tuesday night with a friend. We had a reservation, but the restaurant was virtually empty. We were greeted by a friendly waiter who said to sit anywhere. We chose a 4-top. Yes, we were only 2, but the place was empty and it was late for a potential dinner rush. After we were seated, the owner(I think) came out and told us we couldn’t sit there. That we had to move to a smaller table. We said the waiter told us that table was fine, and he called the waiter out from the back and started reprimanding him in front of us! Needless to say, this set a bad tone. Our meals were fine. I’ve had better and worse Portuguese food, but I enjoyed my Pork Alantejana even though it wasn’t the most authentic version. We had almost forgotten the weird welcome by the end of the meal. Until we asked for the check. The owner brought it over and announced, unasked, «no splitting this on credit cards!» We weren’t planning to do this anyway as I was treating my friend for an occasion, so this gratuitous proclamation sort of irritated us. But even if we were, what is the issue with putting a meal on 2 cards? Plenty of restaurants do this quite cheerfully, and there was no need for the attitude. And by the way, no one came in to sit at the 4-top that we were expelled from. All in all, the atmosphere was a little«quirky» for my taste. I might consider coming back here if I had tickets for a show at the Music Hall, but otherwise I will probably stay away.

Amazing dinner! Cute little restaurant on the main st of Tarrytown. Their special soup, butternut squash, was delish with just the right seasonings. Burrata and tomato app perfect. Even their homemade bread had the right crispiness! My dinner had an abundance of scallops(I think 8!). The pasta dish with seafood was fantastic as well! Will visit this place again for sure if I come through Tarrytown in the future. The staff is so nice!

We stopped here after a day up at Storm King on our way back to the city mainly because it had some good reviews. Although I do wish that this was updated to say it was Italian food and not Mediterranean. Small beans though, no big deal. We each had an appetizer and an entrée. I ordered the burrata and tomato app that was supposed to have truffle oil — it was their special, but they also have just a regular burrata and tomato app which is sadly what I think I was served instead. I’m not mad, just a little bummed but it didn’t seem worth bringing it up at the time. It wasn’t anything stellar but it was tasty. My boyfriend had a clams appetizer and was thoroughly pleased with his dish. For dinner I ordered the chicken paillard and it was delicious. The chicken was cooked extremely well, very flavorful and juicy, and the onions were slices paper thin. It was divine. My boyfriend had the penne a la vokda and it was your standard pasta fare for an Italian joint. Again nothing special. Service was a bit slow, which was odd considering we were one of two couples in the place at 6pm, but it wasn’t excruciating. All in all it was a pleasant experience but I wasn’t wowed.

Great service and decent atmosphere. This place is cozy and the owners will come and talk to you directly to introduce different types of dishes and specials of the day. They offered burrata cheese which is a rarity and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the rabbit or lamb shank and it was very plentiful and hearty. If you like meditteranean or more unique foods, this place is for you.
