Sun Line Cruises

The cruise was awesome!!! The whole family enjoyed the trip … from ages 9 to 67 … a good time was had by all. Was a great way to learn about the area of Tarpon Springs. The time spent on the beach to shell hunt was well worth it!!! A must do if you’re anywhere in the area of Tarpon Springs!!!

This company was very professional and the Master Naturalist aboard was such a plus! I also liked the fact that I wasn’t being upsold or harangued into eating someplace connected with their cruise. I get the feeling there’s a lot of trash talking between some of the companies.
The cruise itself was so pleasant and the dolphins made several appearances. The 30 minute stop at the island was so relaxing and everything was great. The boat has plenty of seating too, shade or sun. This is the company to go with.

Didn’t plan this ahead it was a last minute thing that I’m glad we did. Someone at the parking lot we parked at asked if we wanted to do a Dolphin tour and we decided to give it a shot. So glad we did! It was a beautiful day in November, sunny & 70s. We saw many dolphins swimming along the boat, lots of birds and beautiful homes along the way. We stopped at a small island where other boats were docked. You could have about 30min to walk around and explore, collect shells, take photos. Overall very relaxing. I loved it and would do it again when visiting the area.

Wonderful way to enjoy a few hours on the water for a good price. Crew was fantastic and nice selection of soft drinks and beer and snacks. Having gone 5 times, they are consistently on the ball. Manatees, dolphins even sharks were pointed out. Definitely do the sandbar tour, well worth it, and bring water shoes to avoid stepping on shells, etc if you can but not a requirement. No bathing suit needed.

My 6 year old daughter loved collecting shells on Anclote Key. The perfect way to while away an afternoon while visiting the in-​laws.

We had a beautiful day to take the Sunline cruise out to the Gulf. You leave the dock and travel out through the Intercoastal. The wildlife abounds and you also see many beautiful homes along the waterway. You head out into the Gulf for an island where the boat pulls up to the shore of the island and if you choose, you can get out and explore for about 30 minutes. Then it’s a nice smooth ride back to the dock with some beautiful scenery especially the skyline of the cities. There is also a very informed mate who describes and talks about everything you see along the way. It is a very worthwhile trip.

This was a great tour. The captain and guide were out-​of-​their-​way friendly and great with our little kids. They even gave them a couple shells and shark’s teeth as mementos. 5 dolphins stayed and played with the boat for 10 mins and another one later followed us jumping in our wake. Really highly recommend if you’re in the area. The cost was quite minimal for the 1.5 hours of fun we had.

we have always enjoyed the daytime cruises on prior visits to the area and this was our first sunset cruise. not only was the sunset spectacular, we saw LOTS of dolphins, and enjoyed the stop at the unique «island». it might be a good idea to bring waterproof shoes for that. the boat was comfortable and the staff was welcoming and accommodating. now that we live here, we plan to take all our guests on this boat ride. by the way, it is TOTALLY different from the Dunedin/​honeymoon island ferry that another reviewer mentioned. we only did that once but have gone on this boat trip many times.

We did the Anclote Key Island tour and had a great time. We made phone reservations with a friendly lady who was probably also the woman at the ticket booth who kindly told us she would let the boat know we were coming as we headed to the ladies room.
Once on board we were greeted by a friendly crew and offered blankets and sweatshirts since the day was nippy. The boat was just the right size and had a small bar (beer and wine) that also offered snacks.
The tour itself was about the natural area in Tarpon Springs and we were told of the development of the town and the wildlife around it. We were taken out to a small key and were allowed to walk around the island shelling and taking in the natural beauty. We saw dolphins on the way back but, of course, that is luck and not a guaranteed part of the cruise.
The tour guide was well informed and seemed to genuinely love her job. Both she and the pilot (captain?) were friendly, as if we were heading out on a short cruise with new friends.
I would definitely recommend this tour and tour company. My friend is planning to go again with her kids when she will be back in the area.
