I didn’t expect myself to ever review something like this. A soap and sponge shop. However, this is not your average soap and sponge shop. My wife brought me a gift sponge/​soap combo, magically fused together, from a recent trip she took down to the Tampa Bay area. The soap was AWESOME (Goat’s milk musk. I know how that sounds. It was probably the best smelling soap I’ve encountered in years). Now, on our last visit together, I was introduced to this gem of a store. The selection was incredible, full of sponges and soap varieties that are light on the lab chemicals, and heavy on the natural ingredients. There are specials/​sales when you buy a certain quantity, and there’s cool Greek music playing. What a store.

My son and daughter in law introduced me to this wonderful store… I bought lots of things including the soaps. Love them, love the feel, love the smell. Brought them home and all my friends wanted to know where I got them. I have given them as presents and now I planned to buy a whole bunch for Christmas to give away. I highly recommend this place, cant wait to go back!

What a great place! Natural soaps and sponges. All handmade. People were so friendly and helpful. Genuinely friendly. I would put off shopping in the «souther beach area» until you check this place out.

I have eczema — sometimes it’s alright, sometimes I break out based on environmental conditions. What I can control are the products I apply to my skin. The soaps I get from the supermarket — while good — did make me break out. The products from this place are the only natural product that helps — and it smells so good. Additionally, the soaps are — also — produced with a natural sponge inside them so lathering and scrubbing can be combined into one step (I know, as a dude saving time is important).
I highly recommend getting personal care items from this place. It’s absolutely incredible!

Oh my stars! I love goats milk soaps. The bars here are so big and inexpensive compared to what I normally purchase. Needless to say, I’ll be ordering my soaps from now on!

We visited Lori’s Soaps and Sponges tonight for the first time. We were looking for sponges and hit the jackpot here. They had a large selection and although we didn’t plan on buying anything beyond sponges the soaps smelled amazing so we couldn’t resist.
The owner, an extremely nice gentleman, made us feel welcome and was informative without being pushy. He was so kind to our daughter she was beaming for the whole ride home.
Looking forward to my bath with my new sponge!

This place has excellent goats milk soaps. Every scent imaginable is packed into this place. It is a bright and cheery store. They also sell sponges and gift sets. They wrap the soaps you choose individually when you pay. I have bought soaps from other soap shops in Tarpon but they don’t lather like the soaps I bought from Lori’s.

The owner of this store is the nicest woman you will ever meet (maybe because she is from my home state of Indiana?). This store is heaven. Tons of scents, but not overpowering. Lots of sponges, with what seem to be the best prices on the docks.

I purchased from here before. Very nice place to find a decent gift of fragranced soaps for your loved ones/​friends. All the soaps are made with goats milk and comes in a wide variety of different fragrances, all good.

My husband and I took our first trip to the sponge docks and saw Lori’s. We went in and I knew it was the kind of place I would want to stay for a while. Since it was a Sunday afternoon it was pretty packed. After about five minutes my husband said he would wait outside since the fragrance in the store is pretty strong.
There are tons of different soaps and lots of options to choose from. I ended up getting a gift pack type of thing with 4 soaps and a sponge inside for $ 14.95. I loved the almond scent and found one that had the almond and a few others to try. If my husband weren’t waiting outside I would have spent a lot more time browsing. I love the soaps with the attached sponges and definitely want to try one of those next time. I will definitely be back, maybe on a weekday so I can talk to the owner and see what she recommends.

We always end up coming in here when we’re walking the sponge docks because it smells so good but there’s not too much exciting about soap so we never end up buying anything. The soaps are all home made and seem nice though.

Very nice Mom & Pop-​style soap shop. Locally manufactured homemade soaps. Lots of selection– very pleasing, refined scents. Soaps made from goat’s milk and olive oil. Unique.

No trip to the Sponge Docks is complete without purchasing one of Lori’s lovely soaps or natural sponges. The soaps come in a variety of scents and are made with goat’s milk so the soap leaves your skin feeling super soft! I especially like the bars of soap that contain a sponge and the salt scrubs with olive oil.
The owner of the store is so nice and she can tell you about every product she carries and the benefits from her soaps and scrubs. She’ll also inform you of the best ways to maintain your sponge. The prices are reasonable considering the great quality of the products.
Definitely stop by Lori’s if you are visiting the Sponge Docks!
