Japanese Steak house. Had dinner, one of eight at a birthday. We have been there 3 or 4 times. It was a Monday night & opening service & seating took a long time. Most of the cooking is on Japanese flat tops with a flourish. The food is good, décor needs updating. Same for the menus. Friendly service A 20% gratuity is added Before Tax. You are not told before hand, unless it’s somewhere on the menu. Probably will not go back.

The wife and I came here for lunch last week because I saw a picture of and heard they had ramen. We came after the lunch rush at just after 1pm, and were shown to our table. The menu has plenty of choices, and were I not so focused on ramen, it would have taken a few to decide what to get. We ended up trying some sushi as well, in the form of 2 rolls(I forgot which ones). The sushi was good. The fish was fresh and good quality. The ramen was pretty good too. We each got the pork one, which had 3 thick slices of well seasoned pork. The taste reminded me of the pork that is commonly used in Okinawa soba, and it was delicious. There were also veggies along with the meat, broth, and noodles. For comparison’s sake, the ramen here is in between the 2 popular places for ramen here in Tampa. There is also a chicken and another flavor. Our 2 bowls of ramen and 2 sushi rolls came to right around $ 50. We didn’t finish all of the sushi because we got full first(we ate maybe half and of course took the rest home). The place looks small from the outside, but there is a decent amount of room and tables inside. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the place was clean and in order. Overall this was a good dining experience and I would recommend this place.

Best sushi in Tampa. I try to come here once a week. The tuna is the freshest and best I have ever had, I think they get it 2x a week. Tuna nigiri every time for me. They are friendly and remember me and my daughter I love this place!

This is, hands-down, my favorite sushi place in THECOUNTRY. I live in North Georgia and start getting a nervous tick if I’ve gone 6 months without my Yoko’s fix. As others have mentioned, the wait staff is hit or miss. I definitely recommend sitting at the bar rather than at a table. After years of ordering my standard«go-to» items, I recently started going«Omakase» and have not been disappointed! Daniel and co. are wonderful, funny chefs who know what they’re doing. Pro-tip: Sake bombs are appreciated! ;)

I’ve been going to Yoko’s for 11 years. Great family friendly sushi and more. Great prices and yummy tempura oreos for dessert.

1st time checking this place out as it was recommended by a friend to enjoy the sushi here! We came in around 9:30 on a Friday night and it was packed. We only had to wait for 15 minutes for a table to open. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We started out with the dumplings which were pretty good size — 6 pieces which is a good portion size for it being an appetizer. Unfortunately it took about 40 minutes for our sushi to come. The staff did apologize for the wait. Then we enjoyed the volcano, tsunami, and lobster rolls. The volcano roll was the best! It was delicious! The lobster roll was pretty good. The tsunami was freaking delicious! I enjoyed the food here and would recommend for people to try this place out!

I can honestly say this is my first 5 star review. I have been coming here for years now and it is amazing. When I say I am a seafood snob is to put it lightly. I’m in the military and have traveled all over the world. From sea to shining sea. The seafood here is always fresh and never had a «fishy» taste. This place can be described as a nook that’s not well discovered. So with that’s being said, service is fast. Wait time is minimal. I always sit at the bar and the staff is outstanding. They know what they are doing and have great recommendations. Orders them a drinking to cheers with, they deserve it. But on a non biased note, ice had seafood from probably 100+ different places and you cannot beat how fresh it is here. NEVER, and I repeat, NEVER frozen. And I get the raw stuff too. Great place for people who have never had sushi before.

Yoko’s has declined over the years in my opinion. The last visit, the sushi rice was overcooked and the rolls we ordered were almost cemented together into a rice glob. If you’re a sushi place and you overcook the rice: instead of using it, start over. Rice isn’t that expensive and you owe it to your customers to use rice that is cooked well. Still, Yoko’s isn’t a bad spot for sushi – I just prefer the precision and freshness of SoHo sushi more.

Lately everyone has been talking about the new Ramen places in Tampa… after trying two of the top spots(which were ok to good), I later discovered that my favorite sushi restaurant Yokos also serves a mean bowl of Ramen. If you’ve only tried their awesome sushi, next time try their Pork Ramen-insanely good!

Love love love Yokos! Yoko’s has always been one of Tampa’s best sushi spots, but they definitely stepped up their game after undergoing renovations about a year ago. Service is quick and friendly, sushi is amazing, and prices are in line with other similar establishments(i.e. Soho sushi) Volcano roll is delicious, as is the salmon zest roll and their tuna tar tar is my favorite in town

I did takeout once and it was some of the better sushi I’ve had in Tampa. I loved the salmon lemon zest roll. I know they are sister properties of Soho, but I thought there menu and options were much better. I will be back!!!

2⁄2016: Sad to say the sushi I ordered was not at all fresh and, because of this, will not be coming back anytime soon. There are plenty of local Tampa fresh sushi spots that will quell my taste for yummy sushi. I’ll try Yoko’s again in a year or so… but not in any hurry. 11⁄2015: Freshest sushi I’ve experienced in Tampa in the four years I’ve lived here. They also take pride in their work so the customer service is top notch! And if my tastebuds weren’t enough to tempt you, the restaurant is always packed with locals who know what’s up :)

After a gazillion dinners, It’s time To give this one a review. Ordering is always a breeze as the staff is lovely and always smiling .so check … Already love ! A staple for us is the spicy crunchy tuna roll, spider roll and the noodle entrée. I am so appreciative of an establishment that tries to accommodate dietary constraints. AAA +! I do believe it’s one of the Better sushi joints in the area.

Moving to tampa, my family and I looked for a sushi place and after looking and looking, we came across Yokos. Best sushi in Tampa by far. Not only amazing sushi, but great atmosphere. The owner is such a nice loving lady and makes sure everything is up to your standards. The waitresses are amazing! Soon and Natalie are our favorites along with Richie too! If you ask for any of those 3 you will not be let down! And last but not least the sushi bar, Danny, Number #1, and the boys are amazing! They make the place, not only their excellent sushi skills but their personalities. You could always count on them for making you laugh, keeping a convo, and producing excellent sushi! Now that we moved further down south, we are looking for another sushi place, but we know it will be hard to keep up with the standards we have with Yokos!!!

Hands down my favorite sushi place in all of Tampa! I get take out at least once a week if not twice or more. They’re always pretty quick on take out. If ordering on weekends, definitely call a bit ahead because they get very busy. Volcano Roll & the Tuna Dragon are my go to’s. As well as the side ginger salad!

A shorter than usual review because too much time has passed and I don’t recall the specific sushi rolls we got. However, I had a couple issues with this sushi. First, it took almost 45 minutes to come out. I waited to check in until after we placed our order(to-go) because I’ve had a nasty habit recently of checking into places after pulling up in the car, only to discover a business was closed(I blame Unilocal for having inaccurate business times). So we ordered and sat down. When I wanted to figure out how long we were sitting there, I saw I had checked in 42 minutes prior. Food finally came out a couple minutes later after I threatened to leave. I know they were busy, but if your customer makes a to-go order and it’s going to be longer than usual, maybe you should tell them so they can decide whether to wait. 45 minutes is unacceptable. Second, the sushi just wasn’t that good. There are any number of better sushi places in the region(see my reviews if you’re interested, or if you just need something to put you to sleep). There was an excessive amount of rice, and yes, I know sushi comes with rice. However, this was too much. A thin layer of rice is all there should be. There is better Sushi in Tampa and better service.

This place is wonderful! I have a hard time understanding why its not more popular among the south tampa foodies… perhaps because its«hidden» about a hop away from Datz on the other side of Macdill? Anyways– excellent quality food and great service. They have a huge menu so I can’t label this place as a «sushi» spot. BUT if you get sushi, its likely going to be the best you’ve had in a long time… & if you come back, they’re likely to have added some new rolls to the menu to keep you interested! If you’re in the mood for Japanese, Id highly recommend the Udon or the Yaki Soba with ginger salad. The portions are huge and the ginger dressing is PERFECT! Pro Tip– They have INCREDIBLE lunch specials. I’d add this to your rotation of lunch restaurants if you’re in So. Tampa! The Japanese lunch portions are usually big enough for 2!

Blah. I ordered the salmon zest roll, sunset roll, and salmon nigiri to go. Salmon nigiri was the best of them all bc it had the most fish. However, one of the reasons I enjoy nigiri is the rice, and this rice here is not good. It’s gummy and doesn’t have much flavor at all. Totally not a fan. I think soho has the best rice. If their rice were good then I wouldn’t have anything negative to say about the salmon zest roll which barely had any salmon at all, and even less lemon. Ugh. The sunset roll is good I guess but doesn’t have much flavor on it’s own. Take out presentation was terrible. I don’t remember shaking around the box much, but everything was all over the place. Presentation is crucial in sushi. I guess that’s what I get for getting take out. But my biggest complaint is the huge rice to fish ratio. See pic of one of the pieces of the sushi zest roll. Ruth’s Chris still is my favorite sushi place. The best quality and such flavorful rolls.
