Cool bar and a nice place to lounge. I would imagine this place would get packed on the weekends. They have a wii, nintendo, super nintendo and other video game console in the back with a lot of game cartridges to choose from. If you grew up playing the original nintendo back in the days like me then it will make you reminisce about the good olé days. We came after 10pm so the menu was limited. I ordered the nachos with queso and tacos. Both came out quickly and delicious. Nice place to hangout and chill.

The Bricks in Ybor is a cool spot to check out. They have a variety of beers and offer a Sunday special drink. Their menu has everything: yummy salads, sandwiches, brisket, and even an Elvis(PB&aJ with bananas and bacon). They also have your basic apps and good vegetarian options. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they have TVs up to catch the game or whatever some cook Skateboard videos. This is a great place for a casual drink or meal And the bar staff is very nice and helpful. I only wish they carried gluten free bread so I could have tried one of their sandwiches!

From the previous reviews I was actually a little disappointed. The menu is very limited and nothing unusual. It’s a very hipster joint and if you like beer this is probably where you want to hang out to be seen in Ybor. Just didn’t see it.

Wanted to try the pig and bird sammich but when I got there I decided on the Pacific Rim. The Asian slaw and bbq theme was too much to pass up. I thought the sandwich was really good and had a nice balance to it. I got chips and queso as my side but with this sandwich fries would have been the go to. They don’t have fries so you’ll have to choose something else. Service at the bar was really good, there were multiple people that helped me during my meal. One thing is they were out of three of the beers I wanted right off the bat. Pretty cool vibe in the place and people just hanging with friends having drinks and food.

So good we couldn’t wait to start eating right away lol. Excellent food with good vegetarian options as well. Great place for brunch or lunch – one of our favorite frequent spots!

the 3 stars could be because i was only there a short time and didnt give them a chance to make a great impression. I had one beer and a taco app. The two tiny tacos were pretty good but nothing to write home about. The service was fine and it was a slow sunday afternoon so Im not sure what I was expecting, but ill be back to give it another shot. Be ready for me, Bricks!

I’ll definitely stop in for eats once I get another chance but for now, I stopped in to meet a friend for drinks on a Monday night. I know, not an ideal time to judge a place. We ended up there to check out the retro gaming night, but it was pretty dead. It did look pretty cool, but we found ourselves chatting at the bar instead of going head to head in Mario Cart. They close a little earlier than some of the other places nearby, but they didn’t rush us out and gave us plenty of time to finish our drinks. Plus they had ½ price wells so no complaints on price. Looking forward to checking it out again.

The only reason I’m giving this place five stars is because their pig and bird sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches ever. I’ve never tried anything else from here. I get it with a side of potato salad which I really like. I’ve also had their coffee and tea here. Both delicious. I wouldn’t recommend their beer though. I think it’s overpriced. The atmosphere is really chill and relaxing. I like to sit at the tables by the window and people watch.

This is a nice spot aesthetically. The lighting is really chill, if maybe a bit low, but overall nice. I asked the waiter if they still served coffee as it was around 9:30pm. He told me they do, which is really cool as not many cafes are even open past 7pm. I believe they have a La Marzocco espresso machine, so I thought this place might take coffee and espresso at least a little bit seriously. I was really in the mood for the espresso flavour so I ordered an Iced Americano, with cream and sugar. The server recommended the mixed greens or the potato salad as a complement to my Proper Grilled Cheese. I opted for the greens Not even a minute later, the guy brought me back a drink. It was a Cold Brew Iced Coffee; not what I ordered but I chose not say anything to the waiter about it. The greens were pretty tasty, but unfortunately the sandwich was rather tasteless and there was no salt brought out or readily available at the table. I asked for the check shortly after finishing my food. The place was not very busy but the server took a very long time returning to my table to take my card. I went to the restroom and came back to my table and he still had not taken it. As I was in a rush, I resorted to bringing the check and card to the register myself. I signed the receipt but I was not given back my card and I did not realize this until I had left the place and was very far away. If the waiter had been more attentive and quicker, this would not have happened. Overall a very insipid, slow and disappointing experience.

I went here with my cousin and it was phenomenal. It was a really laid back atmosphere. The music was good and I loved the art they had. Our waitress was really nice. The food was great. I had a peanut butter honey sandwich with cranberries and oats.

It’s Ybor. With handmade cigars, a shoe licker, and fabulous hamburger loving«queens», the 7th Avenue begins strong with The Bricks located on the far west end of the strip. Inside, outside, or upstairs — you’ll be sure to fit in somewhere. Besides, this«young and hip crowd»(as fellow Unilocaler Steve E. enjoys naming us) is a warmly welcoming group, at least I like to think so. If someone didn’t compliment you on your white-girl dancing skills, ask you where you’re from and secretly hope the answer is somewhere from the Midwest, or strike up a conversation about how blondes are a dying art, I must not have been there when you were there. Pity. Do I recommend The Bricks? Yes. It’s a great place to start and finish at night in Ybor. — Parking garages are near by for $ 1/hour. — Beer — Liquor(the specials never disappoint) — Board games — DJ on the weekends — Food. Yeah, the soul food kind that you need to line that hurting stomach at the 11’th hour when you suddenly turned into an independent black woman who don’t need no man… except to hold your hair back cause you tried to drink the pain away from publically losing at Connect Four.

Ybor is definitely full of surprises most of us are used to the usual places along 7th and 8th and even if I know there are other places off the beaten path I usually end up in the known places. It was nice to finally stop here, a smaller bar/restaurant. I went early during the week so it was very empty, quiet and accomodating. I order the lentil soup, the taste was great but I felt it had more corn than lentils, also tried the brisket sandwich. They have a good happy hour selection with half off bottles of wine. The server was very friendly and helpful.

We were walking Ybor City one weeknight and looking for a place to try and came across The Bricks of Ybor… They had a unique menu so we tried it out and we were happy we did! The service was outstanding, very friendly and explained their awesome food, drinks, desserts and how everything is made fresh. The food definitely tasted fresh and was great! They offered a unique food, drink and dessert menu as well. If you’re into vegetarian, they have some NICE offerings! Overall, we can’t wait to go back and try something else. We really enjoyed everything we had!

I stopped grab a bite with my sister when she visited Tampa and found this little sweet spot in the corner of Ybor. The menu itself is pretty simple. I ordered the Bird and Pig with a side of mac and cheese. It wasn’t bad, pretty good actually. It’s pretty sizable, but not enough to share. If you do get the mac and cheese for the side, that’s probably more than enough for two people. It comes in a massive bowl… mmm all that cheesy goodness(unless you’re lactose, sorry). The atmosphere within the restaurant is very hip and up-and-coming. It adds a bit of a modern flair. The staff members are pretty great, a few cracked some jokes with us. Overall, a great experience. If you’re by Ybor and hungry, head over to Bricks. But it’s wayyy at the end of Ybor so might take some walking. Burn off those calories! YAY.

The Bricks is a really fun bar to visit whenever you’re in Ybor. While it’s not«fancy» by any means, it’s still one of the more upscale/newer looking bars and the crowd is always fun. I’ve been to the Bricks several times going out and have eaten there too. The drinks are always mixed really well and the bar usually has some good specials going on every day. The bartenders are always really sweet like you’re already friends with them, even if the place is slammed. I ordered the Greek salad with chicken to eat when I dined at the Bricks and honestly it was really good! I was kind of surprised. The Bricks doesn’t have your standard«bar food.» It’s a step above that but not five-star dining by any means. But, the food is still pretty good for a place which is generally considered just a bar. I would definitely come back to try some of the other food. As far as the atmosphere goes, the Bricks is very unique. It’s a skater bar so there are lots of artsy skateboards plastered on the walls and there’s also art from local artists on the patio outside and in the bathrooms. All in all, a really good spot in Ybor that’s a little bit away from the craziness of 7th Ave. but still a fun spot to hang out at.

I’m glad we chose to meet up with friends here at Bricks for our only night in Ybor. Frankly, because every other bar in the surrounding area seemed fairly sketchy. However, Bricks is as cool as the other side of the pillow! Bricks has it all. Upon entering there’s a coffee bar to the left, followed by a grown up bar. To the right there’s ample seating containing booths and tables. And towards the back of the bar, it looks as if they have enough room for live music. Obviously, there are brick walls — score! It’s dark inside, hence no picture uploads from me. Bricks is a place to be seen in downtown Ybor. I really dig this type of atmosphere. The Tuesday special was $ 3 cans. About ten very good beers to choose from: Uinta Hop Nosh, Red Brick Laughing Skull and Founders All Day come to mind. The ten drafts on hand contained mostly local offerings which had my approval. Our friend asked the bartender to «surprise him» with a whiskey cocktail. We all sampled it and were instantly impressed. It even had a frothed egg! Overall, we really enjoyed our experience here. The bartenders were friendly and cool. They didn’t pressure us to order more rounds. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try any of the food. By the looks of it, I’d definitely take a crack at it. If I’m in Ybor again, you’ll find me here!

Just came here for cocktails on a Tuesday night. The bar was full but not very busy otherwise. We got the huckle punch and Constantine. The huckleberry vodka in the huckle punch is one of my favorites so loved that drink and the Constantine also very good if you like bourbon! Service was very good and prices were reasonable. Had $ 3 taco deals and a very cute coffee bar so would definitely be interested in coming back to eat or for a good studying place!

The Bricks of Ybor is a restaurant, bar, and coffee bar in Ybor City and also has live music and special events at times. It is affiliated with the SkatePark of Tampa(SpoT) which has a shop next door and there are skateboard decks mounted on the walls of The Bricks as artwork and they play skate videos on the TVs above the bar; as I’m a skater myself, this is if anything just the icing on the cake for me. However, The Bricks’ ardent support of skateboarding would not be enough to garner a five-star review alone, but thankfully it measures up in all other regards. The interior atmosphere is lively, inviting, and unique. The waitstaff and bartenders are on point, outgoing, friendly, and most importantly, quite prompt. As to the food, it’s fairly simply fare but very tasty and very well-prepared. Tacos, a variety of Cuban sandwich variants, and some salads compose the lion’s share of the menu. I had the Bird & Pig Cuban sandwich and also an order of chips and queso dip. The queso was especially good, which impressed me because too often things like queso are simply after-thoughts at bar-type restaurants. The sandwich itself was also very good. They have a full bar with a good selection of bourbons and ryes and also an expectedly good selection of beer, with an emphasis on Tampa’s local brews. The wine list also looked better than you’d think for a casual bar atmosphere. Overall, it’s clear they’re investing in quality here. While their skateboarding association was enough to grab my attention to The Bricks, their stellar food and service are what really sets them apart. Ybor has a reputation for food being hit or miss, as is the case with many touristy areas, but The Bricks I found to be simply and casual yet truly impressive.

This might be my first five star rating. This place was absolutely awesome and I cannot wait until I go back for a second time. Our sever, Millie, was friendly and efficient from the moment we sat down. The atmosphere of the place was unique, and the food was among the most unique in Tampa that I have experienced in years. I got the pork tacos for an appetizer and the«bird and pig» for lunch. The sandwich was so good I could have ordered it again. Overall it was a fantastic experience and I will be returning for their drink specials.
