The verdict is still out on Jersey Mike’s subs. I tried their Philly cheese steak with onions, peppers and of course cheese and was pretty disappointed. The ratio of onions and peppers to meat was way off. There were more vegetables than meat. And then the ratio of filling to bread was once again way off with there being much more bread than filling. The sandwich filling itself had a very good flavor in the meat was not tough. The onions and peppers could have stayed to be cooked longer and the bread was pretty good. I wouldn’t say it’s the best submarine type roll I’ve had but it’s definitely not the worst. They were pretty busy and I guess I had to wait about 20 minutes to get my sandwich but, it wasn’t overly busy that the quality of food should have suffered. I’ve heard a lot of great things about this place and was really looking forward to having a Philly steak hoagie here. Philly cheese steaks are one of my favorite sandwiches and my favorite restaurant that served them recently closed. So I am definitely on the lookout for a great Philly cheesesteak in the Tampa Bay area. I heard that I could find it at Jersey Mike’s Subs, especially the one in Carrollwood and frankly I was very disappointed with what I received. The service was fair, nothing to write home about. Pleasant but not trying to sell you additional ingredients or fries, chips, drinks or anything to go with your sandwich. This is bad for the restaurant of course because they’re out to make more money and they want the customers to spend more money. I also am removing a star because I feel the quality in the portion of the food did not meet with the price that I had to pay for my sandwich. I feel the price was too high for the meager amount of toppings I got inside my sandwich. IT was basically half a sandwich instead of a full sandwich. Yes, I am disappointed. Yes people continue to rave about Jersey Mike’s Subs and tell me to try again. I probably will return and try it one more time but, I’m not going to make any promises on that. In the meantime I’m going to be on the lookout for a great new place to go to find my Philly cheesesteak that I so dearly miss. What’s a girl to do? Out with the old, in with the new and if its not good, keep on trucking.

OK — so Jersey Mike’s doesn’t have a «five dollar footlong» or some sort of tagline about being«super food super fast», but what they do have is good food and good service. No gimmicks here — you just get the dependable taste, Jersey Mike’s way. They shave the meat when you order the sub, so you know it hasn’t been sitting out all day, and the veggies are fresh. I have always had friendly sub technicians who listen to the way I want my sub — which is quite particular. They always get it right. Not only that, even though it is a franchise, it is owned by two local people who treat their customers and peeps(their team) like family. I am supporting local when I eat Jersey Mike’s in Carrollwood — so check em out!

Tried their Reuben sandwich and was disappointed. Their other sandwiches are pretty damn good though, but for reuben lovers look elsewhere.

I reallly enjoyed this Jersey Mike’s, it’s clean, the staff are easy to talk to and the food is really good. I always enjoy the Big Kahuna or the Italian, but both MUST have the pepper spread on them, otherwise they get really boring for me. I also like adding tons of jalapeño’s, banana peppers and pickles, not a good sandwich without those. Also got a sub for the wife(had a 2⁄1 coupon that was well worth using). Will definitely come back here if I’m near it, they have great food and not that bad on pricing either.

If you desire a sub with high quality, fresh ingredients, I would strongly recommend Jersey Mike’s Subs. I have been to several Jersey Mike’s in many States. This Jersey Mike’s has outstanding service, very friendly staff and always a clean store! I continue to return to this specific Jersey Mikes for these reasons.

Jersey Mike’s has now opened in Carrollwood, a few doors away from the Brass Tap. This is the location formerly owned by Sub World Family Restaurant along Dale Mabry Highway in southern Carrollwood. I happened to be there at lunchtime on the second day of their grand opening, and had the chance to speak with one of the regional managers while waiting for my sandwich to be made. The original Jersey Mike’s was founded in the mid-1950s in Point Pleasant, NJ, and the franchise has exploded to over 1300 restaurants nationwide. The Jersey Mike’s concept is growing quickly in the Tampa Bay area with a number of locations on both sides of the Bay. They are known for high quality food served up quickly, and prepared to your specifications. The certified Angus Beef top rounds are trimmed and cooked right in the store. The meats and cheeses are all top-quality premium brands. The bread is fresh-baked each day on the premises. And everything is prepared right in front of your eyes. The menu has about 20 different styles of submarine sandwiches, plus you can order wraps or even have your sandwich converted into a salad. You have a choice of a hot(Phillies, Cheesesteaks, Meatball, Chicken Parm, and Grilled Pastrami) or a cold sub(ham & cheese, turkey & provolone, Italian, tuna fish, roast beef & provolone, clubs, all veggies, and more). You can pick and choose your toppings, or ask to have your sub served up Mike’s Way with lettuce, onions, tomatoes, oil, vinegar and spices. I ordered the Original Italian which was provolone, ham, prosciuttini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni, and had it prepared Mike’s Way. At the recommendation of the guy behind the counter, I added a few strips of bacon to my sub sandwich which gave it some crunch and extra flavor. Very tasty sandwich for a reasonable price. This location will be a big hit!
