Why 5 Stars!!! Forget the table, farm get to my belly! As always, I want to start off by thanking Brett and all my Unilocal Elite peers for another amazing event. I have to say the whole concept of «farm to table» is a bit lost on me, since as a very young Unilocaler, we grew a big chunk of what we ate; it was just normal. As I got older and we got stuff like«supermarkets» and«city water,» that became a distant memory. Now that being said, and the fact that I’m the farthest thing removed from some hippie, with everything you read about GMOs, and the organic debate, it’s good to find a place going back to the way food was supposed to be made. I have to begin by saying this place has a vibe. Vintage, smack dab in a subdivision, wood floors, the patio, like I said a vibe. I even heard a rumor it used to be a gas station. All I know is the gas station made some amazing looking craft cocktails. I even partook in while looked like a mini goblet of whiskey-laden goodness. After just one my face was flushed and I was giggling. The other great thing about this event was the copious amounts of food and the tremendous variety. I had a great time playing«Food Network» host with my table mates. Discussing such things as texture, subtle hints of flavor, and, well honestly«what the flip is this and how do you spell it?» Had I partaken in a few more signature drinks, I’m certain I would have awoken with the word«Charcuterie» tattooed somewhere on my body. The swag bags were great and I now have this awesome Unilocal jump charger that not even my Jedi Master Unilocaler who initiated me has. Furthermore, as the consummate bachelor(feel free to apply within), I was pleased to find out Boca has full-fledged meals for 2 available for pick up. Is it poor taste to claim I cooked the delightful meal for two on a first date?

Unilocal event number 5! I’ve never been to Boca, but have heard good things. I’m glad I was able to get onto the list and personally congrats Brett on his recent engagement as well as try this place out! This is my second Elite event and it was another sit-down dinner with assigned seating. It’s a great way to meet new people this way. We had the outdoor patio to ourselves! Their craft cocktail menu had a variety of drinks I wanted to try, but since it was a school night, I had to behave myself. I ordered the Southside Royale. It was a refreshing beverage– a perfect summer drink! We started off with appetizers– Boca BLT flatbread, Brie and Apples, Fried Green Tomatoes, Mesquite Grilled Oyster Rockafeller, Cheese and Charcuterie Board. My favorite was the oysters and the charcuterie board! They were amazing and delicious! The salt presentation for the oysters is for decorations, just FYI. The main course was Yellow Fin Tuna on top of black rice as well as the Braised Short Ribs. The Tuna and The Ribs were so good, I wish there was more! I’ll have to come back on another trip for the Ribs and Tuna! Lastly, the dessert. There was a Peach and Mango Cobbler, Deep Fried chocolate truffle(it’s explosive), and a multi-layer carrot cake. They were all delicious, but none of the desserts really screamed at me, but I am bias as I don’t have a sweet tooth. Overall, the event was fun. I got to meet a lot of new people. We got a giftbag with a $ 10 gift certificate to use next time, which was very nice of Boca. Next time I’ll be back for the Oysters, Tuna, and Short Ribs! Yum!
