China Gate Take Out Restaurant

Very bland that was only masked by adding lots of soy sauce. The rice in the chicken fried rice was crunchy and undercooked.

One of the worst «New York style» fast food Chinese places I’ve eaten at in Tampa. The Chicken Lo Mein was completely flavorless and so was the fried rice. I also ordered a Bourbon Chicken and the taste was waaaayyyy off. I do not eat pork anymore (about 5 years or so) and the chicken had a taste and texture of pork. I asked the guy for reassurance and he said it was indeed chicken. The vegetables in the Bourbon Chicken were only partially cooked (carrot and green pepper chunks). The fried rice was literally the only edible thing and I did not eat it.
The place was not very busy and it was middle of the day lunch specials. The establishment did not have a particularly good smell to it too. Would not recommend and will not set there again.
Find yourself a different Chinese place, this one is not it

I love vegetables so the best item is Hunan Shrimp. Just normal fast food. You cant expect gourmet food ata fast food place. And they are fast! Never cold in fact i have to wait for it to cool down.

I normally don’t review fast food, and that is essentially what China Gate is. I do feel the need to counter some prior reviews that I suspect are for a different location.
This location doesn’t have delivery, and has not had it in the last 8 years or so I’ve been a patron. There is another China Gate that does deliver, but this isn’t it.
The food is standard American/​Chinese takeout fare. The prices are decent, and while it isn’t great, it is fast and reasonably good. The staff is always friendly, and the portions are good sized.
This is a decent option in the area for your quick Chinese takeout fix.

Lousy and far less than average tasting food. I ordered crab rangoons and the cream cheese had no flavor. It was like eating stale fried wotons with flavorless tofu. No crab flavor at all. Their fried wings aren’t crispy and are under seasoned. Customer service is crappie, the cashier who takes your order is acting like he’s doing you a favor and will be on the phone in the middle of you trying to give an order. This place can have several seats down if they want to try call themselves a place of business! Avoid them at all costs, if you’re looking for a pleasant meal or snack.

Ordered the General Tso’s Chicken and the only decent thing about this place was the chicken and the delivery girl. The food tasted awful and wasn’t cooked thoroughly. I wouldn’t even recommend this place if you’re looking for a quick Chinese fix. Save your money and taste buds and go elsewhere.

Theres really not too much I can say about china gate. Nothing outrageously good, nothing terrible. A pretty typical strip-​mall joint with the usual combos, egg rolls, etc. Ill be back in the case that Im craving quick and cheap chinese food, like today.

Ok chinese food, but not that great to be honest. If you’re looking for something fast and and cheap china gate will do, however if you want a meal that you will really enjoy go somewhere else.
