Monday night was not busy so we were able to get a table by the water. Our server was more than great, she was awesome! Fried shrimp was lightly breaded, salad was fresh, Mahi Taco’s were really fresh and delicious. Prices are very fair for the area.

After reading the reviews on here, I must admit that I was not excited about eating here. However, a June afternoon thunderstorm kept me at the hotel, and the covered bar was a great place during the storm. The bartender, Jenny, was very efficient and friendly and informed me that all appetizers are half price during happy hour, 4 – 5. Well. I was really hungry and first ordered the conch fritters. They were cooked perfectly, moist, and had a tasty remoulade sauce. 5 medium sized fritters in the order for $ 4.50. So pleased with those, I ordered the sliders, which they really prepared med-rare!!! 3 large sliders on a hoagie roll with arugula and caramelized onions! Yum! Staying in the hotel, I love this place. The only negative for me was the large cooling fans on the patio, which are very noisy. Being a native Floridian, I’d rather experience quiet and a little warmer, but Yankees probably appreciate the fans.

Perfectly Named — Wonderfully Staffed During a very recent stay at the Bay Harbor Hotel(see Bay Harbor Hotel, Tampa review), it was our extreme pleasure to dine(many times) at this beachfront restaurant/bar/lounge. What a treat! The menu is simple but the food is very nice indeed. And what really made our repeated visits an extra special experience was the waitstaff. KATIE and JAIMIE(sorry if I spelled that wrong) — you both ROCK! Thanks also to Liz, Justin, and the others who helped make our stay not only memorable, but exceptional. What to expect from the«Beach» Bar and Restaurant(formerly«Hulk Hogan’s»): * 3 bars — a beach/lounge bar, indoor bar, and outdoor bar(waitstaff occasionally services the hotel pool as well) * both indoor and outdoor seating with pool table, golf arcade game, and dartboard * an outdoor lounge complete with cushy chairs, couches, umbrellas, fire pits(fire pits are seasonal), overhead fans and large cooling machines(in outdoor bar area), and more * 2 sand volleyball courts * live music/DJ stage with dance floor(party held every Sat. and Sun. afternoon) * beach access(could use some more dredging, and this is reportedly the plan) * breath-taking view of the sunset * jet ski rental * large, private pier with tiki style gazebo(great for docking your boat and/or hosting a large private party) * daily specials * restaurant provides room service for hotel The weekend parties listed above, at least when we were there, were as follows: Saturday — live reggae bands, street vendors, and dancing ran from(roughly) 2pm to 8pm-ish Sunday — DJ and dancing, giant beer pong, balloon animal maker, girls on stilts, beach Twister, and more ran from roughly 2pm to 10pm. There was a cover charge for each event, but if you dined there and/or stayed at the hotel you could receive free or discounted entry — depending on the day. For those of you unfamiliar, «Beach»(formerly Hulk Hogan’s) is now under new ownership. Jaimie, our server on a number of occasions, was able to sit and have a truly enjoyable conversation with us during a brief lull. She explained that the new owners have BIGPLANS for this beautiful beachfront pub. The future looks bright indeed for«Beach». [Also, a thanks goes out to Scott(a manager/supervisor) for sitting down at our table and doing a little(unfortunate) damage control. Apparently, the supervisory staff is in need of just a bit of tweaking. That brief but fantastic sit-down that our server Jaimie had with us prompted another supervisor(Kimberly) to not only interrupt our conversation(to unjustly reprimand Jaimie for sitting with us for — literally — a couple of seconds) but drag us — their guests — into the drama of some apparent problem Kimberly has with the main manager, Erica. And Erica… it might have been nice to see you at the table, rather than Scott, but rest assured… he represented your establishment brilliantly. This incident should in no way discourage anyone from dining/drinking/partying at «Beach». In fact, I hesitated to mention it but, having spent years in hospitality management, it’s hard for me to ignore some things. This particular incident was infuriating simply because of the mistreatment of a, clearly, valuable server and the ill-advised, unprofessional manner in which it was handled. It is highly doubtful this will happen again, I assure you.] STILL, 5STARS all across the board for«Beach» Restaurant and Bar!!! Even if you don’t stay at the Bay Harbor Hotel(which you absolutely should if you can — even for just a quick night or 2), be sure to add this to your list of must-do’s when in the Tampa/Clearwater area. We will be back repeatedly!

I am in town on business and traveling solo. What a great place to sit in flip flops & relax! Asada Taco … Insane delicious. Ordered 2… Ate them before I could even take a picture. But not to worry…2 more are on their way! Great outside bar, musics playing & adult beach volleyball happening. Great energy, food & service! Will def be back!

I’m just going to talk about the food. And not gush over the AMAZING experience that I’ve already bullied my closest friends into trying… I will say though, there’s a hott chick dressed in a sailor outfit on stilts dancing… and there are gogo dancers… and the bartenders are cool… and they have bottle service. So basically, it’s like Clevelander’s in Miami only better because they rent out jet ski’s and I can argue Beach Bar’s food tastes better. So, now the food. Filet Mignon Skewers with Chorizo… amazing.(literally– I had these before I started drinking) Blackened Chicken Tacos… just the right kind of spicy and had a very fresh flavor. Italian sausage pizza… I also heard was wonderful.

I had the sashimi app and my daughter had the kids cheese pizza both were delicious The service was great except the food was a little slow coming out And the view on the water was nice The prices were a little high on some things A solid 4 stars I would definitely come back *Note their Caipirinha is not even close to what that drink should taste like and was actually gross tasting. I had to send it back which I rarely do

The worst experience! Must read this review. I paid in advance to see a Dj(ruby rose) that I love. Paid an additional $ 10 on each of my tickets($ 40 each) to skip a line that was not THERE nor was there even an option to skip if the event would had been packed. The parking was terrible and extremely unorganized. While watching ruby rose a man hit my girlfriend In the face. It took security 5 minutes to realized what was going, they kicked the guy out ! But no one came back to check and make sure she was ok ! I will never go back to this location.

Just don’t… don’t waste your money here, don’t waste your time here… Service was horrible and they know it. I was with a party of 6. our drinks too forever, she forgot to put my order of fries in… still wasn’t out in 20 mins. I ended up having to cancel my order because the group had just had enough. To make matters worse they just slapped on a 21% gratuity to our checks… FORTERRIBLESERVICE. Seriously… STAYFARFARAWAYFROMHERE.

We stayed at the Bay Harbor Hotel and this was a great addition to the location. It was so nice to be able to go downstairs and enjoy great drinks and food with beautiful view of the bay.

Fun joint on the water. Music is loud! Oysters had a good flavor but weren’t shucked properly, I had to scrape them out. Hostess wasn’t A+ personally by any means, but our server was awesome. Food is good, prices are normal. We will be back. Apparently there is a lunch/dinner menu and a bar menu which offers different items.

No. All kinds of no. I had the«blackened chicken» tacos and the iceberg lettuce in them tasted like 2 weeks in the bottom of the fridge and the chicken was not in any way blackened. The chips that were with the tacos had been fried in rancid oil. Cafeteria food at best. Others at the table had the fish and chips(workmanlike), the Alfredo(pretty good) and a pizza marguerite(like chef boy ar Dee).

This restaurant is attached to the Bay Harbor Hotel which was a nice hotel. The restaurant left much to be desired. Inside seating is very generic /sparse. Almost like sitting in a banquet hall. Patio is much better — as long as the bar across the water is playing decent music or no music(Whiskey Joe’s). As a single diner(hubby was getting some much needed rest) I would think my table would get priority attention but I was surprisingly ignored. I had to ask for a menu and a server twice. A third ask and I would have left and been forced to partake in the vending machines. I ordered the fish tacos and asked if I could get the fish blackened and was told«of course!!». Well guess what — the fish was grilled or maybe baked — but definitely not pan seared. They were okay — if I had to go back, I would probably order them again. Not wanting to stay there any longer than I had to — I didn’t complain. Ate, paid and left with a glass of wine to go so I could sit on my hotel room balcony and enjoy the parking lot view.

It is pretty telling that Whisky Joes is jam packed, while this place has empty tables galore. We came in the middle of a day of boating. We used to always stop at Hogans, so we decided to try this place out. It is basically the same as Hogans in terms of atmosphere, except without all the Hulk Hogan memorabilia. We chose to sit outside by the water. Hogan’s used to have buckets of cocktails. This place has a choice of regular, large, or extra large drinks. When we asked the waitress what the difference was, she said the size. Uh… duh. Within our group, we ended up trying all the sizes. The large is what I would say is a normal«regular» cup size. The regular is definitely on the small size. I got a cucumber gimlet. It was ok, but I wasn’t really impressed. For the meal I got the mahi mahi tacos. My husband got the blackened chicken tacos and friends got the ahi tuna tacos. So we basically all tried the tacos. All of us were disappointed. There really wasn’t any taste to it. Even the chips seemed to lack flavor. I ended up not eating the salsa at all and doused it all in salt. Service was also pretty slow. It took us a while to get our drinks, which is surprising since nobody was there. Overall, I am not impressed with this place. Either it will get better or there will be another restaurant here soon.

This used to be Hogans Beach Bar. Our waitress was sweet but the beer prices are bit pricey. The jukebox gave the bar a fun vibe. The outdoor seating with an amazing view of the harbor that really makes it. The view was awesome. It’s a bar with lots of fun water activities.

Great lunch and the bartender Taylor was fantastic! Little pricey but the quality is there so no problem paying it. Liking the changes so far. Update: All of the above is true. However, got my tab and about hit the floor. «Little pricey» may have been understated. 3 rounds of drinks for 3 people and 3 appetizers left a $ 130 dent in my wallet. Like I said, good place and food but be ready to drop some coin.

Average at best. We walked in and was informed the inside was closed because the bartender called in sick. Huh? Ok. so we’re forced to sit outside on a cold and rainy day. Drinks are served in plastic cups. Bartender had no personality. The crowd was mixed and mingled well. That was the best part of it.

Very limited menu and strange as well. Everything over priced — airport nearby. Inside is load and echo. Server must have been brand new to waiting. Nothing here to like.

Had to create a new check in and a new review for the location formerly known as Hogan’s Beach. Recently, the bar, along with the hotel and all property the location has was bought out. Within a few days the garish yellow and red were gone, as was all the old signage. Whether at Hogan’s or now at Beach, the bartenders have always been great. They’re spot on, friendly, and quick to keep your glass full. From information I’ve received there will be a huge investment into the property, including the building of a wading pool, and a relocation of the sand volley ball courts. One thing that also changed with the new owners was the elimination of all happy hour at this place. Pros: Plenty of table seating right on the water. League-style volley ball tournament. Friendly staff. The forced valet parking is gone. Cons: No Happy Hour any longer. Limited seating right at the bar. Food is very over-priced for what you get. Perhaps as the transition and remodel progresses, there will be changes and I’ll come back for an updated review. For now, this place is solid, but nothing to garner a 4 star rating.
