I tried getting ahold the folks at Compguyusa to inquire about setting up a website and possible a service contract should my work machines and printers take a dive. Well, after numerous emails to the owner of the company and also the contact email on the company’s website. I got no response from either one. Real professional when a potential client comes along and nothing gets said. I looked further into these people to learn more about them and man did I dodge a bullet. After reading some of these reviews, it astounds me that these people are still in business. It goes to show you there’s a sucker born every minute. Judging by the quality of the websites the company owner owns and manages, I’m glad I didn’t have him do my website or touch my computers. Heck, on one of the screenshots of a website he had done up, there’s a bookmark to a known piracy website. Goes to show the level of professionalism being displayed openly for everyone to see. Normally I wouldn’t write reviews but after reading these reviews I just had to throw in my $ 0.02. I mean, come on, not paying your employees? Or pulling their chain and shorting them on pay and not having any tax paper work drawn up. Sounds like a shady business that has absolutely no business providing a service to anyone. I’d admit I almost jumped the gun with these guys, next time I’m going to thoroughly look at whomever I plan on doing business with in the future so that I may avoid another bullet like I did with Compguyusa.
Seriously, do not bother with these people. Deprive them of the money they would of drained you of and take it to someone that’s going to do the job right the first time. Not keep your stuff, tell you it’ll take X amount of time and then wait and see what happens. Based on the reviews here, Compguyusa doesn’t treat the techs well at all. Parts never getting ordered. Harvesting old tech and putting it in other computers and charging someone «NEW» prices. Or outrageous «data recovery» fees when he doesn’t have the proper equipment or personel to handle something like that.
This place puts a black eye on honest businesses trying to make it in this crazy world we live. I hope this business closes down so that no one can deal with this insanity other’s have had to deal with. Thankfully, I didn’t have to experience it and just echoing what others have had to say about it.

Update: I just got a compliant notification from the owner of Compguyusa. This is what he had to say:
«I have never done business with you and never will. Never heard of you, and what kind of an A-​hole sends emails request only and not call, to do business. Looks like a fake review from a competitor or hater.

Your just an anonymous fool who thinks his fake review matters, all it will do is get you a law suit for libel. Your ip address is saved by Unilocal,revealing your information. Rules for Unilocal,you should learn them, never put anyone’s personal information, your sorry review will be yanked, LOL!

What a joke. Call the guy, make an appointment and guess what? You will never hear from him again. In fact, you can make two appointments like I did and still never hear from him. Guy is disorganized and unprofessional. Call the Geek Squad. They actually show up. Wish I could give zero stars.

CompGuy USA, or «Computer Guy,» provided the worst customer service I have EVER received from a business.
My laptop crashed while I was on vacation in Ft. Lauderdale. I took it to Computer Guy hoping he could save my files. The business gets ½ star for saving most (but not all) of my files. He was able to load them onto his computer.
Computer Guy was supposed to install a new hard drive then load my files on the fixed laptop. It was Thursday morning. I made it very clear that my flight was Sunday evening, and everything needed to be done by then. I started getting nervous on Saturday when I still hadn’t heard anything. I started making phone calls. He assured me they were working on my computer. By Sunday morning, there was still no definitive word. We finally met up, two hours before my flight.
The labor charge was $ 150, not $ 35 like I thought from their advertising. Computer Guy was unable to fix the computer, so I sold it to him for $ 25. He didn’t load my files onto anything portable, and I had no choice but to leave all my files with him. The business gets another ½ star for at least giving me the old hard drive and a wire to connect it to a USB port. Our agreement was that Computer Guy would load my files onto an external hard drive and mail them to me. There would be no additional labor charge.
Day after day, I waited for my files to arrive. They never did. I started making phone calls after two weeks, and I got nothing but excuses. «We’re short staffed right now.» «I’m with a customer. Can I call you back in 5 minutes?» (He never would). «We’re working on it.» This went on for a couple of weeks.
Computer Guy tried to charge me an additional $ 150 labor, plus $ 30 for shipping for my files. What shipping costs $ 30? I balked and lost my temper. After that, he refused to send my files unless I paid in advance. He didn’t trust me, he said.
Luckily, my new laptop read my old hard drive, and I was able to retrieve my files — all of them!
I haven’t yet told Computer Guy. I want to see how long it will be before he contacts me. I’m not holding my breath. If he truly had all my files and I wasn’t able to retrieve them myself, I’m certain I never would see them again.
