I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. The pool was closed. The hot tub had been closed down by the health department. There weren’t enough towels for our rooms. The exercise room has no AC and the equipment was busted. There is a musty smell. Ugh.

I’m afraid that this hotel has really gone downhill. First, it was hard to book a room. The online site said there were no rooms. The 800 number reservations said there were no rooms. I had to call the hotel directly. I was offered a suite for the same price, which seemed like a nice upgrade. Upon arrival, even though there were only 2 cars in the lot, I was told there were no suites available. No problem, as I didn’t really need one. The first room I was given smelled overwhelmingly of cigarette smoke, even though this is a non-smoking facility. The second room smelled very musty, but the clerk said she thought the air conditioning would remedy that. It probably would, but there was no way to turn it on. The third room seemed fine, but some of the light bulbs were burned out. The coffee maker didn’t work. And things seemed slightly less than clean. Ugly stains on the wall behind the toilet. The staff were very friendly, and tried to right what they could. I have stayed here several times in the past, but will have to find another place next time.

Always love Wingate and this was no exception. Quiet, clean, good breakfast, free wi-fi. The staff is friendly –most notably James at front desk. Have stayed twice: 4 nights June, 3 nights in August. No problems except for lower water pressure than normal in shower – and James comped us for the 1 night! I’d stay again. They are firendly, they are much cleaner than several FSU hotels we’ve stayed, and the staff is helpful! Recommend! James is great at directions and food suggestions too!

Peaceful and quiet, easy access on and off the interstate. Not alot of decent dining options nearby but cracker barrel is just around the corner if someone is looking for comfort food. Regular breakfast and below average gym make up the amenities. Staff was nice and hotel was very clean.

Don’t waste your time. We(my husband and i) booked through travelocity after reading good online reviews. It smelled musty from the lobby to our room. When we checked in the staff screwed up the guy in front of us’ check in by giving him a room that already had someone in it. When we got in our room, the carpet was damp. The knobs on the air conditioner were gone but we realized it all ran off the thermostat on the wall. One of the phones in the room didn’t work. The wifi didn’t let us log on. I forgot shampoo so when I went to get it out of the bathroom it was two conditioners and a lotion so I had to walk downstairs and get shampoo. Then the deal breaker… The shower had almost no water pressure when I got in. It was ok, but when my husband tried to take a shower, the water was barely even coming out. So my husband went downstairs to tell the staff and they told him that«the city cuts down on the water pressure on the weekend» and there was nothing they could do about it… So no showering available. Needless to say, my husband called corporate while we were in the room and they couldn’t do anything but«file a complaint» so he called travelocity. They gave us a refund and we packed up, checked out and went to the holiday inn which was a whole different world compared to the windgate. It was less than a mile down the road and the water pressure was fine so idk what the deal was. They did have a nice jacuzzi whirlpool at the windgate but the jets didn’t work. Please don’t waste your time. It was ridiculous.

I was a fan of Wingate after staying at a fabulous hotel in Colorado Springs. It was larger and nicer than this one in Tallahassee, but I expected the same level of service. I was disappointed. The Good: Very comfortable room, very clean and quiet, even with some noisy kids down the hall. The bed is very comfortable, and so the hotel did a good job with the primary function: to get a good night’s sleep. The Bad: The desk clerk was courteous, but in an unfriendly, disinterested way. I felt she was doing me a favor by offering me a room. The coffee in the room was only decaf, which is disappointing early in the morning. Breakfast was disappointing as the orange juice was out of order, the waffle maker had burned up, and the oatmeal was cold as a stone. I felt that the management was not paying attention to details and it was reflected in the attitude of the staff. Bottom line: I can’t wait to stay in the Wingate in C-Springs, but will drive on by the one in Tallahassee.

This is the best hotel on this exit. The rooms are nicely appointed with new furniture it looks like and everything was clean and smelled nice. The Wifi at this hotel is probably the best i’ve seen anywhere. Nice employees too.

We made the mistake of being fooled by the Marriott name and reserved 7 nights at the Fairfiled Inn across the street. What a disappointment — it was on par with a Motel 6. Tiny bathroom, broken coffee maker, WiFi didn’t work, cheap furnishings, and the whole place smelled musty. You can do better for a little more than half the price elsewhere. Shame on you, Marriott. The next day, we checked out and checked in to the Wingate by Wyndham for the remaining 6 nights of our visit. For $ 19 a night more(you’ll need to call the hotel to negotiate a lower than posted rate), we got a large, beautifully appointed room with refrigerator and microwave, full hot breakfast, and wonderful service. This will be our hotel of choice when we return to Tallahassee.
