Cola pork tacos are my go-to! I am a taco fiend and I could not be more pleased with the quality of tacos and guac I’ve had here. Well priced & a trendy, chill atmosphere.

Fresh ingredients and wonderful flavor combinations. Staff are always helpful/friendly and resturant is squeaky clean. I have yet to try the soda, however. I just wish they accomodated to vegans better(possibly tofu tacos) and I could tip the employees!

Unique place. I like the soda fountain and the idea behind this restaurant but I’m gonna be honest. there was no flavor in my tacos.

Fresh and innovative tacos makes Tacospeak worth a visit. There are authentic and non-authentic Mexican tacos. These tacos are fully and decidedly in the non-authentic category. But they are also fully and decidedly in the innovative category, and tasty category, and fresh category making them well worth a try. They advertise their tacos as being«legit» and I have to agree. There are some mighty fine flavors going on here. Peek into the kitchen and you can see the fresh tortilla machine just inside the doorway on the right. And these are certainly tasty flour tortillas. They come filled with your choice of something like 9 different filling combinations, three or so with breakfast items(served all day). I couldn’t decide between breakfast and lunch, so picked one of each. The Americano came filled with eggs, patatas bravas, and cheese. Delicious. The Don Pablo contained a tasty mix of chicken, grilled peppers and onions, lettuce and crema. A perfect combination. I was quite impressed with their to go packaging. Each taco was nestled into a cardboard shell of sorts, then wrapped in foil and sealed with a sticker printed with the name of the taco. Classy, practical and thoughtful. I will certainly be back to try the rest of the menu.

Small, clean place with enough for 40 people inside and some outdoor seating too. Loved that the soda machine is outfitted with Maine Root which boasts organic cane sugar and no high fructose corn syrup used. While the menu is limited, it selfishly allowed me the opportunity to get a range: had a Don Pablo, a Mexicane Cola Pork, The Hipster, and guac. Tastes like they use fresh ingredients and they season properly, for example the pork in the Mexicane Cola Pork was tender and flavorful without being too fatty or oily. The Don Pablo was very smoky from the fire roasted veggies but it provided good flavor. The Hipster’s grilled cheese stole the show, then again when doesn’t grilled cheese steak the show??? Wasn’t impressed with their pico or guac as I have very high standards. Due to their limited menu, the vegetarians and vegans are even more limited. Good table service though, our order had some mild hiccups and they quickly remedied them. Bonus points to them for having the option of having either flour tortillas or corn.

Almost not worth it for vegans. I really wanted to like this place– locally owned, fresh ingredients, etc. There was one vegetarian taco that could be made vegan by taking off the cheese, and I added sautéed peppers & onions and cilantro. I had a couple snafus, but to their credit, they fixed them quickly and without complaint. They charged me 92 cents to have my taco without the queso, but when I saw it on the receipt and asked the cashier about it, she apologized and gave me 92 cents back. Then, when they brought our food, my tacos didn’t have pico, so my first bite was almost literally a mouthful of greens, but the table service brought me pico pretty promptly when I asked whether my taco was supposed to have it. I added some of the guacamole I got on the side, and I made it through both tacos, but they were still not as flavorful as I would’ve liked. The pico needs to marinate in lemon or lime juice or whatever for longer, to tie it all together, as it was it just tasted like diced tomato– which isn’t in season right now. The guacamole was better than Chipotle’s, and they give you a sizable amount, so that’s a plus. Their soda fountain, as has been mentioned on many other reviews, is pretty phenomenal, with cane sugar Maine root sodas. I’m not a fan of the fact that all of their food is served in disposable containers. I think the trays might be compostable, but they don’t have compost. The plastic cups are recyclable, but I didn’t see recycling. If I go back, I might try green onions and pineapple salsa on the hipster, but it’s not somewhere I’ll be frequenting.

Wow! Great food. Really fresh ingredients. Nice selection of unusual taco combinations. Modern atmosphere. Would definitely go back. Only reason I don’t give it five stars is because the girl who took our order had ZERO personality.

Yum! I can’t think of too many things better than a good fresh taco, and TacoSpeak delivered! Very simple taco menu(pork, chicken, brisket, bacon varieties) along with three additional menu items(queso, salsa, and guac). Perfection. So good I forgot to take pictures. We inhaled the tacos! Fresh ingredients(onions, cilantro, cabbage, creama, corn or flour tortillas) and a beautiful little corner spot on Stadium and Tennessee. Owner was serving and bussing tables and we begged him to consider opening a TacoSpeak on the north side of Tally! Pleeeease???

We had been holding off coming to Tacospeak ever since they opened up here in TLH and in hindsight I have no idea why. This place is the real deal when it comes to Tacos. All the ingredients are very fresh and flavorful and each taco on their menu has their own unique flavors. I orders the CBLT and the Northshore and loved them both equally. The Northshore is a fish taco using very fresh tasting cod as its centerpiece while the CBLT impresses with fried chicken and applewood smoked bacon. I don’t recall which sauce came with the tacos but it was very tangy and flavorful. If you like tacos and are tired of being disappointed, then try Tacospeak. LETTHETACOSPEAKTOYOU!

Legit tacos with a modern twist. I’m actually a little indifferent towards tacos. That’s probably b/c I lived in TX for almost 7 yrs. Ppl eat tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You see tacos at work events, social gatherings, or pretty much everywhere you go. They are inevitable. So it could get exhausting just seeing taco joints in literally every corner after awhile. I’ve had the most authentic $.99 tacos in Brownsville, TX which is only across a bridge from Mexico. Tacospeak is not that kind of tacos you have in mind. It is not authentic by any means but it actually suits my taste. The establishment is modern and clean. It can get pretty busy at times b/c it’s quite popular among college kids. I’ve been here twice so far and have tried their pulled pork, hipster, and CBLT. I’m pretty sure even if I finish trying the entire menu, the pulled pork will still be my fave. The pineapple adds unique flavor to the pulled pork. It’s so juicy, flavorful, and mouth-watering. The tacos are huge. I’m usually full after eating two of them. I know I can count on Tacospeak for a good simple lunch so I stop by from time to time especially when I’m in the area. Pulled pork all the way!

Ordered the Longhorn, Duke, CBLT and Mexicane Pork. I can honestly say that the Mexicane Cola Pork was the best of the 4. Duke was disgusting. It was simply just an egg omelette in a corn tortilla. All I tasted was pure egg despite the ingredients listed. The CBLT has a very overpowering sauce that was super saturated within the HUGE pile of lettuce and tomato. Took apart the taco to taste the delicious fried chicken. It was the only part of this taco I enjoyed. Tone down the amount of lettuce and tomato and sauce. The Longhorn Was questionable from the start, all the way to the finish. My palette was left confused. Only thing that stood out was the pickled jalepeño. It’s ingredients need to be worked out. The Mexicane Cola Pork as stated before is the BEST of the bunch. There was a perfect blend of the BBQ pork and pineapple salsa is tangy and savory that made your tastebuds crave more BUT what stopped me was the HUGE chunk of beef brisket that stopped everything from coming together. As the flavors came in on the initial bite, the huge slab of pork was unappealing. If you downsize the serving of pork, it would’ve been way better. In general, owner was easy to talk too about my feed back. Was very nice and understanding. Loved the variety of sodas. Very different from brand names, but honestly a breath of fresh air than the standard Coke and Pepsi products. TS has great potential. Tacos are simple in general but can pack a punch if made right. This place needs some work in terms of portion control on a 6 inch corn tortilla. New place with lots of potential!

Hands down the best tacos in Tally. They may not be «traditional» Mexican style tacos but in my opinion they are better. These guys do it right with fresh ingredients, awesome tortillas and lots of meat! Give them a shot, you will be pleasantly surprised. Just like I was. Ps. I tried the cola pork and chicken with bacon.

Boyfriend got the Duke and the Longhorn.(Someone was hungry.) He loved the beef brisket in the Duke quite a bit. I got the CBLT without bacon and that sauce(chipotle ranch?) was so yummy. Their queso is bomb and I love that they have a different brand of soda. Try the different sodas!

Came here for lunch yesterday after seeing it crop up on Unilocal a few times and I really enjoyed it! I had the queso and chips, along with the CBLT and The Longhorn. I really enjoyed the CBLT, although I think it would probably be better without bacon. I’m maybe the first person to say that, but I think it just overpowered the flavor of the chicken. I think the queso could be a little bigger, especially since it’s literally the most expensive thing on the menu, but it tastes great! The tacos are a pretty good size, I split the queso and chips with a friend and had 2 tacos and was fine. If I didn’t have the chips I probably would have gotten a 3rd taco. The staff was also really friendly and helpful.

I went in for some late night munchies and found a clean dinner room with a friendly staff. Despite the dark windows, this place is open for business till 12 am Monday– Wednesday and 3 am Thursday through Saturday. The price listed is for one taco but don’t worry because the portions are generous(two tacos usually hits the spot). These american inspired tacos are great for a late night meal plus they deliver! My favorite is the Mexicane cola-pork because the pork is so tender and the pineapple salsa brightens up the pork for a fresh taste. I also had the CBLT which was an interesting experience because I have never thought to put an american classic in a taco before but they know how to do it right. Word of advice, if you are sensitive to spicy I would ask for the chipotle ranch on the side.

Ordered the longhorn, the hipster, the duke and a side of guac. All of it was delicious. If you like spicy, I would recommend ordering a side of jalapeños as they don’t have anything besides a mild salsa as condiment options. My bf can be picky about restaurants and how much food you get for the money. He ordered two tacos and he was full. Great value and delicious. The tacos weren’t greasy and everything was very fresh. They also carry Maine root versus Coke products which I enjoyed as well. Versus the other taco places in town 1.Tacospeak and taco repulik(tie) LASTPLACEANDWILLNEVERGOAGAIN: taco libre

Lord bless! So glad this place is here. Awesome tacos, delicious guacamole and Maine Root sodas. You really can’t go wrong. I recommend the CBLT, Mexican Cola pork(with pineapple relish), and the hipster(vegetarian). All good all the time. And the chips and salsa are out of control!

First off, this is not an authentic Mexican taco joint. So if you’re looking for tacos de cabeza or tacos al pastor or any of that, this is not the place for you. But don’t let the lack of Mexican authenticity lead you to believe that this place isn’t good. I loved it. These are the best non-authentic Mexican tacos that I’ve ever had. The meat in them were extremely well-seasoned, juicy, and plentiful. In short, they did not skimp on the meat. The other ingredients were fresh and very well apportioned. I didn’t order any sides, but i noticed other tables that did, and they looked great. Their salsa appears to be homemade. I’m a fan of really spicy sauces, and although this one isn’t up to par in terms of heat factor, I would say that it adds a welcome explosion of taste to the already-tasty tacos. The place is clean, inviting, and pleasant. They have a nice outdoor seating area that overlooks the street. Besides the food, my favorite thing about this place is the soda. When you order a fountain drink, you don’t have Pepsi or Coca-Cola products to choose from, but rather Maine Root’s organically sweetened sodas. Why do I like this? Because these sodas are all sweetened with real cane sugar instead of that high-fructose corn syrup crap that’s making America fat. Not only do these sodas taste better than the regular brands we’re used to, but they’re healthier, too. And for those of you who care, they’re also«fair trade certified,» whatever that means. Meh. Anyway, I’m certain to come back to this place as the price is good and the food is better!

Bottom line: immensely flavorful. I try to give a joint 2 – 3 visits before jumping in all giddy with a review of the experience but I’ll through caution to the wind and post this one up now, while still watching the intersection of Tennessee & Stadium. Portions are manageable. Menu options basic and covering all common bases. Guacamole, salsa and queso were all exceptional. I mean ridiculously so. The fire roasted salsa is very interesting. Up until now, the homemade concoction at La Tiendita has been my standard, but these guys are right up there! The tortilla shells are supple yet sturdy enough to do their job. They are uncannily present yet subtle. Vegetarian wife had the sole option(The Hipster), whereas I had the Ai Papi AND The Northshore. For both of mine, each bite was high-impact. There’s nothing boring going on with this fare. Unique soft-drink dispenser. Never seen it before — it’s «Maine Root». Apparently, Whole Foods sells a few of the syrups. It’s «Fair Trade Certified» and touts being naturally sweetened with cane sugar. Whoever you are, Fair Bringers of Tacospeak — I gift unto thee the keys to the city. It’s THAT good.(I’ll see if the Mayor’s office will go for this — there’s a chance this plan won’t fly, but you’ll know of my good intentions…) I didn’t think I’d walk out from today’s lunch joint as impressed as I am. (P.s., we had the pleasure of meeting Dustin, one of the partners. He’s who well try to get that key for…)

After showing up a few days ago to find the store not yet open to the public, I couldn’t be happier to report these tacos are in fact legit. Maybe it was the magic of a Florida State victory or battling the rain all afternoon or even just being on my feet all day, but Tacospeak delivered on absolutely outstanding tacos. The store, while spacious, assumes a cozy feel and a larger than expected outdoor seating area. The wait time wasn’t much of a wait at all. The service was extremely pleasant. The small menu ramps up a massive flavor profile. The CBLT(chicken bacon lettuce tomato) taco was splendid. A perfectly fried, yet not greasy slab of chicken is an item of indulgence. The Mexicane Pulled Pork was just as savory. The accompaniment of the pineapple salsa exceeds freshness and meatiness all in one bite. I’m looking forward to watching this business take off rapidly. I don’t normally give five stars on the first visit, but for a menu specializing in quality over quantity, and overall affordability, I can see myself frequenting Tacospeak for years to come. Welcome to the neighborhood!
